- *Christy* biopic subject Christy Martin has reacted to Ruby Rose's criticism of star Sydney Sweeney.

- Rose previously labeled Sweeney a "cretin" and said she "ruined" the film.

- Martin defended Sweeney following Rose's words.

Christy Martin has stepped into the ring to defend Sydney Sweeney after the star of the biopic about the boxer's life was slammed by fellow actress Ruby Rose.

In the aftermath of *Christy* posting one of the worst box office debuts of all time for a major wide release, Rose — who claimed she was originally attached to play a role in the film — posted a message on Threads in which she told her followers she thought Sweeney "ruined" the film.

Martin, a queer sports figure portrayed by Sweeney in the biographical drama, hit back Wednesday at the criticism in a post of her own.**

"I've always been a fighter. My life reflected that in every way and now I fight for others," Martin wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of herself posing with Sweeney.

She added that "the past few days I have seen some people attack my friend Sydney Sweeney. Syd not only worked her ass off for this film, she worked her ass off for me. For my story. For so many others suffering in silence."

Martin finished by praising not only the *Euphoria* actress' performance, but also what she felt was a personal commitment to her as a person.

"So I want to be clear about who Syd is," Martin continued. "She is my friend and ally!"

Rose's social media post primarily focused on speculation that Sweeney is a conservative. In 2023, fans called out the actress for sharing photos from a family party where select attendees wore MAGA-inspired material, two years before she courted controversy for starring in a Donald Trump-praised American Eagle ad that used language many interpreted as promoting eugenics for playing on the words "good genes" and "good jeans."

"Everyone had experience with the core material. Most of us were actually gay. It's part of why I stayed in acting. Losing roles happens all the time," Rose wrote on Threads. "For [Sweeney's] PR to talk about it flopping and saying SS did it for the 'people'. None of 'the people' want to see someone who hates them, parading around pretending to be us. You're a cretin and you ruined the film. Period. Christy deserved better." ****** has reached out to representatives for Sweeney for a reaction to Rose's post.

Rose's post also referenced Sweeney's reaction to *Christy*'s disastrous box office performance, after the film opened to a paltry $600 per-screen average upon opening at approximately 2,184 theaters domestically.

"If Christy gave even one woman the courage to take her first step toward safety, then we will have succeeded. So yes I'm proud. Why? Because we don't always just make art for numbers, we make it for impact," Sweeney wrote on Instagram. "And Christy has been the most impactful project of my life. Thank you Christy. I love you."

Before addressing *Christy*'s box office failure, Sweeney also spoke out about the American Eagle scandal and the MAGA party controversy.

"I was aware of the numbers as it was going. So when I saw all the headlines of in-store visits were down a certain percentage, none of it was true," Sweeney later told *GQ* of reports that American Eagle's stock numbers went up amid the controversy.

"It was all made up, but nobody could say anything because [the company was] in their quiet period," the 28-year-old observed. "So it was all just a lot of talk. And because I knew at the end of the day what that ad was for, and it was great jeans, it didn't affect me one way or the other."

Sweeney earlier told *Variety* in 2023 that people had "misinterpretations" of the headline-making party's alleged MAGA attendees, claiming that "the people in the pictures weren't even my family."

- Morgan Freeman said he's "PO'd" at people using AI to copy his voice: "You're robbing me."

- The *Shawshank Redemption* star also suggested his "lawyers have been very, very busy" pursuing legal action against AI imitators.

- Freeman also slammed AI actress Tilly Norwood: "Nobody likes her because she's not real."

Morgan Freeman has one of Hollywood's most iconic voices — and he has no intention of letting anyone exploit it without his consent.

The *Shawshank Redemption* star said that he's unhappy with AI programs cloning his voice without his involvement.

"I'm a little PO'd, you know," he told *The Guardian*. "I'm like any other actor: Don't mimic me with falseness. I don't appreciate it, and I get paid for doing stuff like that, so if you're gonna do it without me, you're robbing me."

Freeman suggested that his legal team has already begun pursuing litigation against "many" of his imitators: "Well, I tell you, my lawyers have been very, very busy."

The *Seven* star noted that he made an effort to maximize the quality of his voice after receiving advice from Robert Whitman, an instructor at the community college he attended.

"If you're going to speak, speak distinctly, hit your final consonants, and do exercises to lower your voice," he recalled learning. "Most people's voices are higher than they would be normally if they knew how to relax it. He taught that sort of thing."

Freeman also slammed Tilly Norwood, the AI actress that caused a stir last month after reports that talent agencies considered signing the synthetic performer as a client.

"Nobody likes her because she's not real and that takes the part of a real person, so it's not going to work out very well in the movies or in television," he opined. "The union's job is to keep actors acting, so there's going to be that conflict."

"To be clear, 'Tilly Norwood' is not an actor, it's a character generated by a computer program that was trained on the work of countless professional performers — without permission or compensation," the union wrote. "It has no life experience to draw from, no emotion and, from what we've seen, audiences aren't interested in watching computer-generated content untethered from the human experience."**

- Lady Gaga has revealed her *very* Lady Gaga reaction to *Joker: Folie á Deux* backlash.

- "It's funny, I'm almost nervous to share my reaction," the *Mayhem* Grammy nominee said.**

- She additionally said reactions to the Todd Phillips-directed sequel were "unhinged."

Judging Lady Gaga's *very* Lady Gaga reaction to her latest blockbuster film's reviews, one might say the *Mayhem* Grammy nominee watched 2024's *Joker: Folie á Deux* die... with a smile.

The 39-year-old Oscar winner opened up in a new interview about the vicious fan reception to the highly anticipated Todd Phillips-directed DC Comics sequel, after the big-budget *Joker* continuation earned a 31 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and grossed $58 million at the domestic box office (following the first film's $335 million North American haul).

"There was a ton of negativity around *Joker,*" Gaga told *Rolling Stone* in a new cover story pegged to her seven Grammy nominations for both her *Mayhem* and *Harlequin* albums — the latter of which served as a soundtrack accompaniment to *Folie á Deux*.**

"I think I was feeling artistically rebellious at the time," Gaga continued, referencing the subsequent release of her *Mayhem* lead single "Disease" following *Folie á Deux'*s* *debut*.*

When asked if the reception for the film bothered her, the publication noted Gaga flashed a smile during her answer.

"I wasn't, like, unfazed," she said of criticism for the film, in which she starred opposite Joaquin Phoenix's Joker as famed DC villainess Harley Quinn (named Harley "Lee" Quinzel in the film). "It's funny, I'm almost nervous to share my reaction. But the truth is, when it first started happening, I started laughing. Because it was just getting so unhinged."

She noted that the lighthearted reaction (as well as the film's sole positively received elements, including both her and Phoenix's performances) eventually faded, and that's when a specific breed of hurt set in over a film she poured a lot of creative energy into.

"When it takes a while for something to kind of dissipate, that can be a little bit more painful," Gaga continued. "Only because I put a lot of myself into it."

Gaga previously told ** that the character, who joins the Joker in spreading chaos across Gotham City in the musical-inspired sequel, took over her personal life in key ways.

"I wasn't finished with this character when I was done making the movie. Creating her had a deeply profound effect on me. The way I prepare for things, Michael also got to know Lee pretty well, and it's why we conceived of this project together," Gaga told EW of living with both the character and her fiancé, Michael Polansky, at the same time.**

While many reacted negatively to the film — including *Taxi Driver* writer Paul Schrader and even *Folie á Deux* supporting actor Tim Dillon — filmmaker Quentin Tarantino praised the musical as a bold "'f--- you' to Hollywood" for defying expectations.

Despite* Folie á Deux*'s negative reviews, Gaga rebounded with music critics upon March's release of her seventh solo pop album *Mayhem*, which debuted at No. 1 on the American charts and scored six Grammy nods — including for Album of the Year.

"So much of what I did with 'Abracadabra' was about claiming music and imagery that's my own invention — meaning the combination of those things is my own invention, and I wanted to really own that for myself," Gaga previously told EW of crafting the album's third single, "Abracadabra," earlier this year. "As a woman in music, we're often told that someone else made us who we are or somehow it didn't come from us, that we were *made* that way. But this is who I am."

Move over, bathtub drains: Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi are bringing sensuality to new inanimate objects in the latest trailer for Emerald Fennell's *Wuthering Heights. ***

The clip, which premiered online Thursday, shows Robbie's Cathy and Elordi's Heathcliff both getting physical with a pink tufted wall. At one moment, Cathy can be seen digging her fingertips into its plush surface, only for Heathcliff to slowly lick it the next. **

Adapted from Emily Brontë's influential Gothic novel of the same name, *Wuthering Heights* chronicles Cathy and Heathcliff's doomed romance from their early days spent playing in the wily, windy moors of West Yorkshire to Heathcliff's dramatic departure from the estate and beyond.

At one point in the trailer, Cathy and Heathcliff are seen overlooking the water together, musing about their futures. "What should you do, Heathcliff?" she asks. "If you were rich?"

"Suppose I'd do what all rich men do," he answers, "live in a big house, be cruel to my servants, take a wife." **

His response, however, causes Cathy's expression to change. "A wife?" she fires back with a hint of jealousy. "What wife?"

After Heathcliff is out of the picture, Cathy eventually marries the well-to-do Edgar Linton (Shazad Latif). However, her sweet high-society bubble bursts when her former flame eventually returns to Wuthering Heights and the pair rekindle their obsessive and destructive romance.

"Why did you leave me?" she asks Heathcliff, to which he responds, "Why did you betray your own heart?"

Shots of their sensual love story are interspersed throughout the trailer, from the pair almost holding hands and nearly kissing, all the way to tight embraces and fingers being pushed into Cathy's mouth. Even seemingly mundane tasks, like kneading dough, become sexual metaphors in their hands.

"Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same," Cathy declares of their all-encompassing relationship. In another scene, a rain-soaked Heathcliff tells her, "Kiss me, and let us both be damned."

The trailer also features a new song from Charli XCX, whose song "Everything Is Romantic" was featured in the film's first teaser trailer. Earlier this week, Charli dropped another song for the film: a haunting collaboration with John Cale titled "House."

In September, Fennell explained that her goal for adapting *Wuthering Heights *was to recreate the "primal" and "sexual" experience that she felt when first reading the novel in her teenage years.**

"If somebody else made it, I'd be furious," she said at the time, per the BBC. "It's very personal material for everyone. It's very illicit. The way we relate to the characters is very private, I think."

*Wuthering Heights* comes to theaters on Valentine's Day 2026.

Ariana Grande is trying to clear the air about her lunar skepticism, but her *Wicked* costars aren't making it easy.

On Tuesday, the Grammy winner returned for round two of *Vanity Fair*'s lie detector test interview, a year after the series exposed her for doubting the 1969 moon landing. The first time around, her fellow *Wicked* lead Cynthia Erivo asked a series of rapid fire questions while Grande was hooked up to the lie detector — including whether or not she believes the moon landing was fake.

"Jesus Christ," Grande responded at the time. "What do you take me for? No."

Unfortunately, the polygraph reader then called her out, saying the results were "inconclusive," which prompted the pop star to spiral. Naturally, the clip went viral. So a year later, hooked up to the polygraph for an interview with Bowen Yang, Grande took a moment to address the nonsense.

"I wanna make sure you're getting the truth this time, because I feel a little bit like we have some air to clear," Grande said while the same polygraph operator strapped her into the machine. "For me, that moon thing… doesn't sit well with me."

Getting it out of the way early, she added, "The moon landing has happened… and f--- off if it didn't."

But that wasn't the end of her moon woes. Yang went on to ask his *Wicked* costar a number of questions, hoping to catch her in a lie, and before wrapping up, brought things full circle by asking the star if she'd "like a chance to redeem [her]self" regarding the moon landing.

"No," Grande replied. "I wanna move past it."

Yang then asked the singer if she truly believes that Katy Perry and Gayle King went to the moon on their Blue Origin space trip, to which she replied, "No, because they didn't." As for whether she would sing in space as part of the next Blue Origin crew, she answered, "[I] wouldn't do that trip, personally."

The interview then intensified as Yang lobbed his toughest question yet: "Do you believe in the moon?"

"I do." Grande replied, then joked, "You know. I hear both arguments."

Bursting into laughter, Yang warned, "You're not helping your case."

"*You're* not helping my case," Grande replied, seemingly fed up with the subject. "The truth is, I don't give a rat's a--! I'm worried about Earth, goddamn it! We're burning alive!"

She continued her rant, exclaiming, "We're killing each other! Can we worry about Earth for five minutes? Who gives a f--- about the moon and the flag?"

As it turns out, plenty of celebrities do. Just last month, Kim Kardashian caught some flack for revealing that she has some doubts about the infamous Apollo 11 mission that saw two men walk on the moon.

"I don't think we did. I think it was fake," she admitted on a recent episode of *The Kardashians.* "I've seen a few videos on Buzz Aldrin talking about how it didn't happen. He says it all the time now, in interviews. Maybe we should find Buzz Aldrin."

And Kardashian isn't alone. Tiffany Haddish was asked to weigh in on the subject during her Wednesday visit to *Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen* and the *Girls Trip *star ultimately sided with Kardashian.

"I believe that there's people living on the moon right now," Haddish said. "Do I believe we were there? No."

She continued, "I don't believe we [were] on the moon. I believe there's people there though."

For the record, NASA has argued otherwise. Following Kardashian's comments, the agency's acting administrator Sean Duffy addressed the matter on social media, writing, "Yes, @KimKardashian, we've been to the Moon before… 6 times!"

Justin Baldoni's lawyers are now claiming that Blake Lively improvised multiple unscripted kisses while filming an *It Ends With Us* scene that was cut from the movie.

In footage shared with ** and disclosed as an exhibit in the Wayfarer parties' motion for summary judgement filed on Nov. 13, Lively and Baldoni are seen filming a hospital scene as their characters, love interests Lily and Ryle. The brief snippet sees Lively approach her costar, they share a brief kiss, and then she walks off camera.

Per the new filing, Baldoni's legal team claims that Lively "oversaw" the scene, which "she herself added to the script in which her character kissed Baldoni's character in every take" despite their being "no kiss in the script."

As previously reported,* It Ends With Us* was set to resume filming following the Hollywood guild strikes of 2023 but before this occurred, a meeting between Lively, Baldoni, and several other producers was called in January 2024 to address a list of concerns from the actress. During the meeting, all parties allegedly agreed to a list of 30 terms that established courses of actions for the remainder of the shoot.

The filing from Baldoni's team notes that Lively requested that there was "to be no spontaneous improvising of any scenes involving physical touching, simulated sex or nudity."

Baldoni's legal team suggests the newly disclosed video shows Lively allegedly engaging in an unscripted kiss herself, before that meeting occurred.

Representatives for Lively did not immediately respond to **'s request for comment.

The latest chapter in the ongoing legal battle between the former costars sees defendants Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios, Jamey Heath, Steve Sarowitz, publicists Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel, Texas-based social media consultant, Jed Wallace, and Street Relations Inc. asking U.S. District Court Judge Lewis J. Liman to rule in their favor without proceeding to trial.

The 73-page document sees the group list reasons why Judge Liman should toss the case before it makes it to the trial currently slated to begin in March 2026.

Per the documents, the Wayfarer attorneys argued, "When viewed in context, no reasonable juror could find that the handful of comments and miscommunications Lively has mustered amounts to sexual harassment."

The ongoing legal battle began when Lively filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department last December, accusing her costar and director of sexual harassment on the set of *It Ends With Us* and claiming that he orchestrated a smear campaign against her in the aftermath. She subsequently filed a lawsuit against Baldoni and Wayfarer in New York federal court.

In response, Baldoni filed his $400 million lawsuit against her as well as her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist Leslie Sloane, claiming civil extortion, defamation, breach of contract, and invasion of privacy. He also filed a $250 defamation suit against *The* *New York Times*, over the publication's story that first brought Lively's allegations to light.

In June, Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed the entire lawsuit filed by Baldoni and his Wayfarer Studios production company. Liman found that since Lively's claims against Baldoni were first made in a complaint to the California Civil Rights Department (which was then reported on by *The New York Times*), the claims are covered by litigation privilege and not considered defamatory. The claims of defamation made against Lively's publicist, Reynolds, and the *Times* were additionally dismissed.
