- Daryl Hall had a kidney transplant a few weeks ago.
- The musician received the organ from "a very kind and generous living donor."
- Hall is excited to get back to performing soon.
Daryl Hall recently underwent a kidney transplant, the 79-year-old musician shared Tuesday on social media.
"I thought you should know that I recently received a kidney transplant from a very kind and generous living donor," he wrote on Instagram. "It happened a couple of weeks ago, and I'm already starting to feel better. It was, according to my doctors, a complete success!"
Hall concluded by declaring, "I should be back to normal in a few months, so get ready for more music and lots of Daryl's House shows."
Hall previously shared his ongoing experience with Lyme disease, having first been infected in the early 2000s before being officially diagnosed in 2006.
"I have good days and bad days," he said of his symptoms. "I was fine for four months, then I might have tremors, headaches, fatigue. It's like a roving street gang of germs."

A Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, Hall rose to prominence as one-half of the iconic duo Hall & Oates, alongside John Oates. The partnership lasted over 50 years, until Hall filed a lawsuit against Oates in 2023 to stop him from selling his share of their joint venture Whole Oats Enterprises to Primary Wave Music, claiming it violates a business agreement between the pair.
Hall eventually dismissed the claims in 2025, and the two have continued to perform separately as solo artists.
"To me, the legacy of Hall & Oates and the things that Daryl and I created together is like a visit to a museum,” Oates told ** last year. "It will stand the test of time and hopefully still resonate into the future. That music will hopefully never go away. But at the same time, you walk through a museum and after a few hours, your feet start hurting, and you've seen so many beautiful things, and you say, 'Okay, enough is enough. I gotta move on. I've gotta go out into the sunshine and see what else is out there.'"
