Olivia Wilde is sharing her thoughts on the public's reaction to her dating life following her split from ex-husband Jason Sudeikis.
The 42-year-old actress and director sat down with host Alex Cooper during the latest episode of Call Her Daddy, where she talked about the double standards she has faced in her career and her dating life. During the conversation, Wilde noted that it "hurt" when others would claim she "forgot" she was a mom while dating ex Harry Styles, 32, following her divorce. She said that the public's reaction to her was a stark difference from how they'd treat the Ted Lasso star, 50.
Cooper recalled stories about Wilde and Styles at the time, in which Wilde was called out for "abandoning her family" and "moving on too quickly." The podcast host then asked Wilde how she felt when reading those headlines.
"That hurt," she said, then going on to recall spending Thanksgiving with her kids, Otis, 12, and Daisy, 9, while Sudeikis spent time with his girlfriend at the time, Keeley Hazell, 39, abroad.
"I remember there was a Thanksgiving, and we were separated, and I was with the kids because it was my time to be with the kids. Everything was as it should be. Kids were with me, and Jason was photographed with his girlfriend on the beach in Costa Rica or something. And the press were like, 'Yay for him. He looks so happy, so wonderful.'"
"And I was like, if I was away from my children on a national holiday frolicking on a beach, it'd be like, literally, just burn her at the stake now," she said. "Take the kids away from her forever and burn her to the ground. It would have been used in the court of law."
Wilde shared how people would react when she was away from her kids, calling the entire situation "nuts."
"And then I would, on my weeks when I wasn't [with the kids], and I would be somewhere, people would be like, 'Well, my, my, my. Oh, she forgot her kids. I guess she forgot. She's a mom.' It was nuts."

Wilde and Sudeikis share two kids together: son Otis Alexander, 12, and daughter Daisy Josephine, 9. The former couple decided to call it quits in 2020.
Despite their split, Wilde remains focused on her children. In conversation with Beanie Feldstein for an InStyle cover story, the director shared how she encourages both of her kids to embrace their unique personalities.
"Having a boy and a girl, you really notice gender politics within your own home," Wilde explained in 2020. "She'll clean up his plate for him after dinner and I'm like, 'Put that back!' "
"With Daisy, I have witnessed how women are born with an incredible amount of strength and that society quickly pushes them to assume the more feminine role," she told the Booksmartstar when asked about how she's raising her kids "to be strong and independent."

"When Daisy hits a place where she questions her worth, I want to be the one to remind her of the strength she innately has," Wilde shared.
In February 2023, Wilde got a tattoo in honor of her daughter. She shared a photo on her Instagram Story of what appeared to be the Libra constellation, Daisy's zodiac sign, next to the Taurus constellation for her son, a design she got back in 2018. In the post, the director joked that she was "running out of arms" for ink.
