Lamine Yamal's parents, Mounir Nasraoui and Sheila Ebana, are two of his biggest supporters.
Nasraoui and Ebana welcomed their son on July 13, 2007, raising him near Barcelona, Spain. The two split when Yamal was 3 years old, per The Athletic, and Ebana began working at a fast food restaurant to support her son.
Before Yamal's international fame and spots on FC Barcelona and the Spain national team, his mom had hoped he would get a college degree.
"I would have liked to study a degree, but I'm not cut out for it,” Yamal said in Spanish on a September 2025 episode of the Resonancia de Corazón con Jose Ramon de la Morenapodcast (via Goal). “I told my parents: 'If you depend on me for work, we're screwed. But if I become a footballer, don't worry, because I'm going to be a footballer.' "
Now, Yamal is considered one of the best Spanish players of his generation. His parents can be seen supporting him at many of his games.

Yamal primarily grew up near Barcelona in Spain. However, his dad is originally from Morocco.
"The first to arrive was my grandmother, who sneaked onto the bus from Morocco and managed to get to Mataro," Yamal said on his episode of the Resonancia de Corazón con Jose Ramon de la Morena podcast (via Football Espana). "She started working three shifts so my father could come because he stayed in Morocco, and when my grandmother made some money, she paid a woman to bring my father and his sister, who came when they were 3."
Meanwhile, his mother "came from [Equatorial] Guinea with my grandmother and they arrived in Barcelona," Yamal added. His parents met in Barcelona, where they later resided in a "residence for young parents."
Because of Yamal's tri-national heritage, he was eligible to play for all three countries. In an April 2023 interview with the Royal Spanish Football Federation, Yamal said, “I have always played for Spain, since the under-15s. I have always been clear, I want to play for Spain.”
Despite his loyalty to Spain, he represents his mother and father's heritages by wearing their countries' flags on his shoes.

They separated when Yamal was a child

While Yamal was growing up, his parents separated. He went to live with his mom, Ebana, in Granollers, Spain, while his father, Nasraoui, lived with Yamal's paternal grandmother, Yamal said on the Resonancia de Corazón con Jose Ramon de la Morena podcast.
Both his parents have since moved on to new relationships. In October 2025, Nasraoui announced his engagement to his girlfriend Kristina, captioning a photo on Instagram, “🖤💍."
Meanwhile, Yamal's mother has also remarried and welcomed Yamal's brother, Keyne, who is frequently spotted at his games.
"I came from an apartment where the kitchen and bedroom were in the same place," Yamal said on de la Morena's podcast. "[Now,] I see my mother happy, I see that my brother can have the childhood I would have wanted, and that's what makes me happiest.”
Yamal's mother fostered his interest in soccer

After Yamal's parents separated, Ebana began working at a fast food restaurant in Granollers. There, she met the daughter of Yamal's future youth football coordinator, CF La Torreta's Inocente Díez.
Díez's daughter told Ebana that if Yamal wanted to play soccer, she shouldn't worry about the cost. Instead, CF La Torreta's youth academy would find a way to cover the payments, Díez told the Spanish newspaper ARAin May 2025.
They are both proud of their son

Despite not being a couple anymore, both Nasraoui and Ebana can be frequently seen attending Yamal's games.
In July 2024, Nasraoui told The Telegraphthat he always believed in his son's big dreams.
“You cannot imagine how proud I am of my son. I always knew that he would achieve what he has. I had total faith,” he said. “And I have faith that he could go all the way and be greater than [Lionel] Messi.”
Yamal gives the love right back to his parents. Speaking about his mom on de la Morena's podcast, Yamal said, “For me, she's my queen and what I love the most."
