TORONTO (AP) — Quinton Byfield scored on a one-timer 35 seconds into overtime to give the Los Angeles Kings a 4-3 victory over the injury-hit Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night.

Warren Foegele, Kevin Fiala and Alex Laferriere also scored for Los Angeles. The Kings have won three in a row and four of five to improve to 9-5-4.

Darcy Kuemper made 12 saves, and Drew Doughty had two assists.

John Tavares scored twice for Toronto, Bobby McMann added a goal and Dennis Hildeby stopped 33 shots. The Maple Leafs have lost four straight to drop to 8-8-2.

Toronto played without captain Auston Matthew (lower-body injury) and goalie Anthony Stolarz (upper-body injury) after both left Tuesday night in a 5-4 loss at Boston.

Toronto jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals from McMann and Tavares. Foegele and Fiala tied it in the second before Tavares restored the home side's lead. Laferriere tied it again in the third.

DETROIT (AP) — Alex DeBrincat had two goals and an assist and the Detroit Red Wings beat the Anaheim Ducks 6-3 on Thursday night to end a three-game losing streak.

DeBrincat has 18 goals and 33 points in 20 career games against the Ducks.

Moritz Seider and Dylan Larkin each had a goal and an assist, and Axel Sandin-Pellikka scored his second career goal. Michael Rasmussen also scored after being deactivated for Detroit's 5-1 loss to Chicago on Sunday.

Jonatan Berggren, Patrick Kane and Lucas Raymond added two assists apiece.

Seider and DeBrincat scored on power plays, reviving a Detroit unit that had gone 1-for-20 during its previous five games.

John Gibson and Cam Talbot combined for 25 saves. Gibson departed after two periods due to an undisclosed injury.

Cutter Gauthier, Chris Kreider and Mikael Granlund scored for the Ducks, and Lukas Dostal made 27 saves. Leo Carlsson had his 11-game points streak snapped. The Ducks have lost two straight following a seven-game winning streak.

Detroit took a 3-2 lead in the second period after a scoreless first.

The Red Wings broke the deadlock at 5:57 of the period after the Ducks' Mason McTavish was whistled for his third penalty of the game. Seider scored on a shot from the point but the Ducks tied it less than two minutes later on Gauthier's team-high 12th goal.

Rasmussen and Kreider traded goals before Sandin-Pellikka scored from the point for his second career goal.

DeBrincat gave the Red Wings a 4-2 lead 50 seconds into the third period when he tipped in Seider's shot during a power play. Larkin scored on a 2-on-0 breakaway to answer Grandlund's goal. DeBrincat added an empty-netter.

The teams split their two-game season series.

Surveillance video shows Tennessee Titans cornerback L'Jarius Sneed driving a Lamborghini Urus at a suburban Dallas dealership and nearby gas station minutes before two men allege that shots were fired at them from that vehicle last December.

Sneed, 28, was indicted Tuesday by a Dallas County grand jury on a misdemeanor charge of failing to report felony aggravated assault to law enforcement. The indictment does not include details of the alleged incident on Dec. 6.

In the video, Sneed can be seen getting out of the Lamborghini, then using crutches to walk past the men and up stairs into the dealership at 3:22 p.m. on that date. Sneed walks out about a minute later in the video, which was shared Thursday with The by attorney Levi McCathern, who represents the two men in a civil lawsuit against Sneed over the shooting.

The Titans cornerback, who was on injured reserve, also can be seen in separate surveillance video at a gas station at the same time as the two men. In the video, Sneed walks in from a gas pump, goes to a register and then walks back to the same car when Christian Nshimiyimana and Avi Ahmed were inside.

Minutes later, Nshimiyimana and Ahmed say in their lawsuit that they were shot at while sitting in a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon at the dealership. The surveillance video shows a vehicle driving past with four loud pops heard and an arm out the passenger side window at 3:42 p.m. That vehicle then speeds off.

A probable cause affidavit from the Carrollton Police Department dated Dec. 11 said Ahmed asked employees about two men he had seen earlier and that Sneed was identified as one of those men. The dealership also provided Sneed's phone number.

Detectives also confirmed Sneed's identity from surveillance video from several locations.

"It was apparent that Sneed was the only person they had seen getting out of and into the driver seat of the Lamborghini. He also was the last person seen getting into the driver seat at the RaceTrac (gas station) approximately eight minutes before the shooting," according to the affidavit.

The police affidavit also noted: "Combined with the rapid acceleration away from the scene proved that Sneed knew what he was doing when assisted the shooter in fleeing the scene."

Nshimiyimana and Ahmed allege that Sneed and another man, Tekonzae Williams, were inside the Lamborghini when the shots were fired. Williams was indicted Tuesday on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Court records did not list an attorney for Williams.

McCathern, of McCathern Law, said Thursday his clients were pleased that Sneed and his associate were indicted.

"Hopefully, this will be the beginning of getting justice for my clients," McCathern said. "As the video clearly shows, they are very lucky to be alive after Mr. Sneed's actions."

Sneed's attorney, Michael J. Todd, did not return a message left by the AP on Thursday. Sneed's agent had no comment Wednesday.

No people were hit by bullets, though the lawsuit says bullets did hit the Mercedes-Benz as well as a building at the car lot. The lawsuit against Sneed and Williams seeks at least $1 million in damages.

The Titans said in a statement they were aware of the "legal matter" with Sneed and are in contact with NFL security per league protocol. The statement says the team had no further comment.

Sneed was placed on injured reserve last month with a quadriceps injury, and he was in the Titans' locker room Thursday. Players on injured reserve do not talk to reporters.

This is the second straight season the Titans have put him on injured reserve. He played only five games in 2024 after Tennessee traded with Kansas City for him, giving Sneed a contract that made him the NFL's fifth-highest-paid cornerback at the time.

Sneed was drafted from Louisiana Tech in the fourth round in 2020 by Kansas City. He won back-to-back Super Bowls with the Chiefs in 2022 and 2023.

Shohei Ohtani is now one of two players in MLB history to win more than three MVP awards. The other is Barry Bonds.

The Los Angeles Dodgers superstar was named National League MVP on Thursday for the second straight year. Like in his first season with the Dodgers, he received the award not long after winning the World Series.

And like in the other three times he won MVP, he did so unanimously with all 30 BBWAA votes, beating out second-place Kyle Schwarber and third-place Juan Soto. He is the first player to ever win MVP unanimously four times.

He celebrated by giving his dog Decoy, and not his wife Mamiko, a kiss.

Don Mattingly announces the 2025 NL MVP ...Shohei Ohtani 🦄 https://t.co/nwLtgGmuyo pic.twitter.com/OHiWH0rqVI

— MLB (@MLB) November 14, 2025

Ohtani is only the second player in MLB history to win both an MVP award and a World Series in back-to-back years, joining Joe Morgan in 1975 and 1976. Unlike Morgan, he also won an individual postseason award with NLCS MVP this year. Ohtani is also the first player in history to win both AL and NL MVP multiple times.

So it's safe to say he's off to a good start in Chavez Ravine.

Ohtani had previously been in a tie with 10 other players for the second-most MVP awards in history behind Bonds' seven. The group that Ohtani just surpassed: Jimmie Foxx, Joe DiMaggio, Stan Musial, Yogi Berra, Roy Campanella, Mickey Mantle, Mike Schmidt, Alex Rodriguez, and former teammates Albert Pujols and Mike Trout. A half-hour after Ohtani's award, Aaron Judge replaced him in the three-time winner group.

It's probably worth noting names like Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth or Lou Gehrig might have come up here had the modern form of the MVP stretched back further than 1931.

Shohei Ohtani traded baserunning for pitching in 2025

Ohtani has won two MVP awards in two years with the Dodgers, but both campaigns were quite different, at least outside the plate.

In 2024, Ohtani was a .310/.390/.646 hitter with a Dodgers-record 54 home runs. In 2025, he was a .282/.392/.622 hitter with 55 home runs. In both seasons, he led MLB in total bases and runs and ranked behind only Aaron Judge in OPS+.

[Get more Dodgers news: Los Angeles team feed]

Last year, however, saw Ohtani unable to pitch after undergoing UCL surgery at the end of the 2023 season. So he responded by focusing on his baserunning and posted the first 50-homer, 50-stolen base season in MLB history, while finishing a few hits short of a Triple Crown.

Ohtani returned to the mound this season in a limited capacity. He didn't pitch in a game until June, didn't pitch into the fourth inning until July and didn't reach the sixth inning until his final start of the season on Sept. 23. The Dodgers' plan was clear: Make sure he can pitch in the playoffs, with the regular season taking a back seat.

In those limited spurts, Ohtani was more than effective. He posted a 2.87 ERA and his 1.90 FIP and was the second-best in MLB among pitchers with at least 40 innings, behind only Aroldis Chapman. His 47 innings pitched were still more than Ruth ever threw during his run on the New York Yankees.

With pitching back on his to-do list, Ohtani went back to his usual baserunning load with only 26 attempts in 2025. Still, that combination of elite hitting, limited pitching and some baserunning made him the easy choice for MVP.

Even taking his pitching out of it, Ohtani's overall production at the plate still put him ahead of Schwarber and Soto.

We are living in Shohei Ohtani's world

With MVP voting done at the end of the regular season, Ohtani's win doesn't reflect what he did in the postseason. That includes games such as perhaps the greatest individual performance in MLB history and that time he shattered a league record by reaching base nine times in the World Series (with some help from the Toronto Blue Jays).

When Ohtani signed his 10-year, $700 million with the Dodgers in 2023, the price shocked a baseball world that had never seen a contract larger than Trout's $426 million deal. And two years later, that contract, and its deferrals, could not look like a bigger bargain.

Ohtani has been the most valuable player in the NL in back-to-back years, and a World Series champion in back-to-back years. He has transformed the business of the Dodgers, turning them into an advertising powerhouse in his native Japan, one of the richest countries in the world and a nation that worships him at a level of celebrity beyond anything in the United States. He has a dog that has drawn a standing ovation at Dodger Stadium and is about to be the subject of a children's book.

Consider all of the financial advantages Ohtani brings before stepping onto the field, and then consider that two players, Soto and Vladimir Guerrero Jr., already have contracts larger than his when factoring in inflation with the deferrals.

It's quite possible Ohtani has already paid for himself as far as the Dodgers are concerned. The team had an enormous set of advantages, such as its enormous TV contract and the largest stadium in MLB, but Ohtani's success has sent them to a higher plane, and there's no telling if they come down as long as he's on the field.

Morgan Freeman recently told The Guardian that he is pissed off when it comes to AI recreating his iconic voice without his consent. The Oscar winner said his "lawyers have been very, very busy" as of late working to remove all unauthorized uses of his voice off the internet.

"I'm a little PO'd, you know," Freeman said. "I'm like any other actor: don't mimic me with falseness. I don't appreciate it and I get paid for doing stuff like that, so if you're gonna do it without me, you're robbing me."

Freeman previously hit out against AI in June 2024, thanks his fans on X for calling out examples of AI ripping off Freeman's voice for advertisements the actor has not signed off on to promote. He wrote at the time: "Thank you to my incredible fans for your vigilance and support in calling out the unauthorized use of an A.I. voice imitating me. Your dedication helps authenticity and integrity remain paramount. Grateful. #AI #scam #imitation #IdentityProtection"

The actor joins a long list of fellow industry professionals who have spoken out against AI using their likeness without consent. Scarlet Johansson has been on the forefront of the anti-AI battle, criticizing OpenAI last year for using a voice similar to hers after she turned down the company's request to use her direct speaking voice. Johansson said she was "shocked" and "angered" by OpenAI's decision. Other celebrities, however, have been leaning in to AI. Matthew McConaughey and Michael Caine recently inked a deal with AI audio company ElevenLabs to produce virtual replications of their famous voices.

As for Morgan, he's been making the press rounds in support of his role in "Now You See Me: Now You Don't." The actor has appeared in all three "Now You See Me" movies. The latest installment is Freeman's sole release of 2025, which is unusual for the actor. Even at 88 years old, Freeman has been averaging three film releases a year over the last several years.

"Sometimes the idea of retirement would float past me but, as soon as my agent says there's a job or somebody wants you or they've made an offer, the whole thing just boils back into where it was yesterday: how much you're going to pay, where we're gonna be?" Freeman told The Guardian.

"The appetite is still there. I will concede that it's dimmed a little. But not enough to make a serious difference," he concluded.

Selena Quintanilla is celebrated in the upcoming Netflix documentary Selena y Los Dinos: A Family's Legacy, which features archival footage and interviews with her loved ones. From her early beginnings as a young girl realizing her gift for singing to her unprecedented success as a woman dominating Tejano music, the documentary, directed by filmmaker Isabel Castro, proudly shines a spotlight on Quintanilla's legacy.

The film, which had its world premiere at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, is in many respects a love letter from the Quintanilla family to the singer's newer generations of fans.

"Our family has recognized that Selena is a huge representation of who we are as Mexican Americans. She's relevant still, 30 years after her passing," Quintanilla's older sister, Suzette, told the American Film Institute during a screening of the documentary. "There is a whole new, two generations actually … that are embracing her, discovering her and looking for her."

When does Selena y Los Dinos: A Family's Legacy premiere on Netflix?

Selena y Los Dinos: A Family's Legacy premieres on Netflix on Nov. 17.

What is Selena y Los Dinos: A Family's Legacy about?

Selena y Los Dinos: A Family's Legacy charts Quintanilla's early beginnings and rise to superstardom, as told by her family — her parents, Marcella and Abraham, sister, Suzette, brother, A.B. III, husband, Chris Pérez, and bandmates. Through the use of archival footage, the film tracks the family's origins, from performances at their Tex-Mex restaurant in Lake Jackson, Texas, to their rise to the top of the Tejano music charts.

"As a filmmaker, I wanted to honor her extraordinary rise and enduring legacy while also giving a window into her life behind the stage," Castro told Tudum. "Through personal archive and intimate interviews with her family, the film reveals new dimensions of her journey that have never been seen before. I am deeply grateful to her family for their trust and support throughout this journey, and I can't wait for a global audience to experience the magic, heart and community that Selena gave to all of us."

Who was Selena Quintanilla?

Quintanilla was born on April 16, 1971, in Lake Jackson, Texas, to parents Abraham and Marcella. She had two older siblings: her sister, Suzette, and brother, A.B. III. Abraham first learned that Quintanilla could carry a tune when she was 6 years old, Suzette told People. It wasn't long before all the pieces fell into place, and the Quintanillas formed the family band, Selena y Los Dinos, in 1981. Suzette was on the drums, A.B. III was on the bass, and Quintanilla was the lead vocalist.

Selena y Los Dinos (Netflix) (Netflix)

Following years of success with Los Dinos, Quintanilla signed a solo contract with EMI Latin in 1989, the same year she released her self-titled debut album, Selena. In the years that followed, Quintanilla's star continued to rise: She released three more albums, Ven Conmigo (1990), Entre a Mi Mundo (1992) and Amor Prohibido (1994), the latter of which included one of her biggest hits, "Bidi Bidi Bom Bom," and earned her her first-ever Grammy Award in 1994 for Best Mexican/American Album. Her final album, Dreaming of You, which was also her first English-language LP, was released posthumously in 1995.

Recognized for catapulting the Tejano genre into the mainstream, Quintanilla, who is affectionately known as the "Queen of Tejano music," is considered one of the most influential Latin artists of all time. Tejano music reached its commercial peak in popularity in the late '80s and early '90s, largely thanks to Quintanilla.

What happened to Selena Quintanilla?

Quintanilla's life came to a tragic end on March 31, 1995, when she was shot and killed by Yolanda Saldívar, her employee. She was just 23 years old.

Saldívar was the founder and president of Quintanilla's fan club, before being promoted to manager of the singer's clothing boutiques, Selena Etc. She was fired, however, in early 1995, after the Quintanillas discovered that she had been embezzling money from both the fan club and boutiques.

A fan holding a Selena poster (Netflix) (Netflix)

On the day of her death, Quintanilla met Saldívar at the Days Inn motel in Corpus Christi, Texas, to retrieve financial documents that she'd previously refused to turn over. Saldívar then shot Quintanilla, who fled to the lobby and collapsed. Quintanilla named Saldívar as her attacker before losing consciousness.

Saldívar was found guilty of first-degree murder in October 1995 and was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole in 30 years. She was denied parole in March 2025.

What has her family said about the documentary?

Suzette, who is also an executive producer of Selena y Los Dinos: A Family's Legacy, told People that the documentary is dedicated to the dreamers.

"She found humor in everything, even when things were overwhelming," Suzette said of her sister. "She never took herself too seriously, and you could feel the realness of who she was. I hope her story reminds someone that you can dream. This started off as a wild dream — and look what it represents now, so many years later."

Selena Quintanilla and Chris Pérez. (Netflix) (Netflix)

When Suzette approached Perez, the lead guitarist of Los Dinos, to be part of the project, he was immediately on board. Pérez, then 22, and Quintanilla, then 21, fell in love and married in 1992.

"Suzette calls me, I answer," Pérez told the American Film Institute. "It was a simple choice for me. But at the same time, having to go through all the stuff again, it's really heavy. But there's so much beauty in it."

LONDON (AP) — As the man formerly known as Prince Andrew was drawn into the news surrounding sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, he sought to distance himself from the scandal.

"I can't take any more of this," a sender identified in Epstein's contacts as "The Duke" wrote to him in 2011, in one of thousands of partly redacted emails released Wednesday.

Fourteen years later, the former Duke of York has been stripped of all his titles, including the princeship bestowed at birth. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor — as he's now known — was royally demoted two weeks ago by his brother, King Charles III, and faces eviction from the mansion where he's lived rent-free near Windsor Castle.

But the bad news keeps coming for the man who was once second-in-line to the throne.

The recent trove of documents has renewed the sexual assault allegations against Mountbatten-Windsor and undermined his denials that he ever met his accuser, Virginia Roberts Giuffre. They also reveal some of the efforts made behind the scenes to attack her claims.

Mountbatten-Windsor, the second son of the late Queen Elizabeth II, has vehemently denied all allegations by Giuffre, who took her own life earlier this year. But he did settle a lawsuit out of court that reportedly paid her millions of dollars.

When Mountbatten-Windsor's ties to Epstein — who had been convicted of soliciting prostitution in Florida — were first reported in 2011, he was forced to resign as Britain's special trade envoy.

The scandal, however, resurfaced in 2019 when Epstein was arrested for a second time on charges of sex trafficking. Giuffre said she was 17 when she was trafficked to have sex with Mountbatten-Windsor.

In a disastrous attempt to clear his name, Mountbatten-Windsor did an interview with the BBC in which he denied ever meeting Giuffre and said he broke off contact with Epstein in December 2010. He was widely criticized for showing no empathy for Epstein's victims and for offering unbelievable explanations for his friendship with Epstein.

His downfall over the past month began when other emails showed his Epstein friendship lasted far longer than he disclosed. Those revelations were followed by the publication of Giuffre's posthumous memoir last month that detailed the three times she said they had sex.

The new emails undercut Mountbatten-Windsor's claim that a now-infamous snapshot of him with his arm around Giuffre's partly bare midriff was doctored because he couldn't remember it being taken.

"Yes she was on my plane, and yes she had her picture taken with Andrew as many of my employees have," Epstein wrote in one 2011 email in which he called Giuffre a liar.

Epstein repeatedly disparaged Giuffre, calling her "nothing more than a telephone answerer."

He discussed getting a reporter to investigate her, suggesting "Buckingham Palace would love it."

When the Mail on Sunday sought comment before publishing a story in March 2011 about Giuffre's allegations, Epstein forwarded the email to a contact listed as "The Duke" that is partly redacted but appears to be Mountbatten-Windsor.

"Please make sure that every statement or legal letter states clearly that I am NOT involved and that I knew and know NOTHING about any of these allegations," the reply from the email listed as "The Duke" said. "I can't take any more of this (on) my end."

When he asked Epstein how he planned to respond to the tabloid's request, Epstein said he wasn't sure.

"The only person she didn't have sex with was Elvis," he wrote.
