The Dallas Cowboys found one more way to stick it to Micah Parsons on his way out the door. The team reportedly included a poison-pill condition into its trade with the Green Bay Packers, preventing the team from trading Parsons back to the NFC East for a few years, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

That condition — which wasn't reported at the time of the trade — prevents the Packers from sending Parsons to any NFC East team through the 2026 NFL season. If the Packers decide to trade Parsons back into the NFC East before then, the team would give its 2028 first-round pick to the Cowboys.

Some around the league were unaware of that condition, which only came to light when the Cowboys decided to trade for New York Jets defensive end Quinnen Williams. An NFL database that tracks draft picks listed the Cowboys' 2028 first-round pick as off-limits. Other teams noticed that at the trade deadline, leading to Schefter's report.

The Packers' 2028 first-round pick was also off-limits. Green Bay reportedly added the same poison-pill provision to the deal, preventing the Cowboys from trading defensive tackle Kenny Clark back to the NFC North.

While it feels unlikely that the Packers would turn around and trade Parsons after giving up two first-round picks and Clark — especially after the Packers then signed Parsons to a four-year, $188 million deal — the poison-pill condition prevents Parsons from forcing the issue. There's no evidence Parsons would do that so soon after being traded by the Cowboys.

Still, the Cowboys weren't willing to take that chance. The team was likely motivated to include that poison-pill provision into the trade after the Philadelphia Eagles were aggressive in their pursuit of Parsons. In addition to that, Parsons grew up near Philadelphia and reportedly wants to play there eventually, per Schefter.

Both teams are set to meet in Week 10. The Packers and Eagles will square off on "Monday Night Football." Both clubs are among the best teams in the NFC, ensuring it should be a tight matchup.

Parsons has been a massive addition for the Packers. Through eight games, he's registered 6.5 sacks and 14 quarterback hits. He's well on his way to yet another Pro Bowl season, and is a big reason the Packers rank in the top 10 of points allowed.

The Cowboys, meanwhile, find themselves sitting at 3-5-1 through nine weeks and rank 31st in points allowed.

PARIS (AP) — Winger Florian Thauvin replaced injured forward Randal Kolo Muani in the France squad on Sunday for upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Kolo Muani hurt his lower jaw playing for Tottenham against Manchester United on Saturday and was replaced at halftime. France coach Didier Deschamps replaced him after consulting national team doctor Franck Le Gall.

France hosts Ukraine in Paris next Thursday on the 10th anniversary of the November 2015 terror attacks and then is away to Azerbaijan three days later. Les Bleus will qualify for next year's World Cup by beating Ukraine.

Kolo Muani has scored nine goals in 31 games for France while Thauvin, who has been in good form for Lens this season, has two goals in 12 matches.

Bill Belichick's North Carolina Tar Heels are now a win away from .500 after a 20-15 victory over Stanford on Saturday.

The Tar Heels have won two straight games after a four-game losing streak dropped UNC to 2-5. With games remaining against Wake Forest, Duke and NC State, North Carolina needs to win two of those three games to get to a bowl.

Following the game, Belichick spoke at his news conference for nearly 30 minutes and discussed numerous topics about the program. He admitted that he could have done things better at the start of the season as he embarked on his first games as a college coach.

"Again, in retrospect, I think I could have done a better job in looking at some of our players and putting them in a better position to be successful," Belichick said. "I think we have tried to do that more as we've gone forward and I think it's benefitted some of them. Some of those if we could have identified it a little bit sooner, that would have been helpful, but we didn't and it's nobody's fault, it's just kind of the way it was.

But as we've played more games and gotten more opportunities to see our guys work together, find the right combinations and help them improve and put them in positions that are maybe a little better for their skillset, that's helped some of their production as well. So again, going back to the early part of the season, there's a number of moving parts there but again, in retrospect, I think I and we as a staff — if we knew then, what we knew now, there's some things we would have done differently but some of those we had to experience. Things we thought we could do, we didn't do very well. And things we maybe weren't sure we could do we were actually able to do OK."

The Tar Heels were simply overmatched to start the season. North Carolina was dominated in Week 1 by TCU and scored wins over non-power conference teams Charlotte and Richmond before losing its next two games by a combined 53 points to Big 12 bottom-feeder UCF and Clemson.

The Clemson loss led to a lot of consternation in and around the program, as reports emerged about frustrations at North Carolina in Belichick's first season. The chatter even got so loud that the school released a short statement of support from athletic director Bubba Cunningham and a short statement from Belichick reaffirming his commitment to be the team's coach.

Since then, North Carolina has gone 2-2 and the two losses came by a combined four points.

The Tar Heels are far from world-beaters. They're still in the bottom half of an ACC that's by far the fourth-best of the four power conferences. But there have been signs of life. North Carolina was inches away on a two-point conversion from beating Virginia. And on Saturday, UNC's defense sacked Stanford quarterback Elijah Brown nine times.

"I think we've been confident all year, I don't think lack of confidence is a problem," Belichick said of his team. "We need to play better, do some things better, but I don't think it's a lack of confidence. I don't think we haven't been confident in any game. Some games we perform better than others, but I don't think we lack confidence"

Indiana football was in trouble late against Penn State on Nov. 8, with its undefeated record in 2025 on the line.

But Heisman Trophy contender Fernando Mendoza choreographed a game-winning drive that ended in an acrobatic touchdown grab by Omar Cooper Jr., moving the No. 2-ranked Hoosiers to 10-0 on the season after the 27-24 win.

REQUIRED READING: No. 2 Indiana survives thriller vs Penn State with incredible catch from Omar Cooper Jr.

It has been that kind of season for Curt Cignetti and Co. so far, and the second-year coach showed some rare emotion in the immediate aftermath of his team's come-from-behind win.

"Great play in the end zone," Cignetti told Fox Sports sideline reporter Jenny Taft. "Didn't draw it up in the dirt but, I mean we saw what they were doing. And it was a great throw and catch. And you know what? This was an unbelievable win. I've seen a lot of stuff in my days. I've never seen anything quite like this."

— FOX College Football (@CFBONFOX) November 8, 2025

Mendoza took a sack on first-and-10 from Indiana's own 20-yard line, moving the Hoosiers back to their own 13. With no timeouts remaining, the first-year Cal transfer set the tone for the remainder of the drive after hitting Cooper Jr. on a 22-yard rope down the seam on the next play.

Mendoza also found tight end Riley Nowakowski for a 29-yard gain on the drive, dropping in a pass between multiple defenders.

More magic came on third-and-goal from the 7 with 36 seconds remaining, when Cooper Jr. made perhaps the catch of the year for the game-winning score. Cooper Jr. leapt into the air and came down with the pass, miraculously keeping his flailing right leg from touching out of bounds before dragging his left foot in just inside the marker.

"Refused to lose, basically," Cignetti told Fox sideline reporter Jenny Taft after the game. "Sacked on the (1-yard line), haven't done anything the last five, six passes, he's got no protection, right. Run the ball through us, play-action pass. No timeouts left, make a play on second and who knows what, 30? For a first down."

Cignetti is now 21-2 in his second season at Indiana and is a virtual lock to reach the College Football Playoff for the second consecutive year.

"Every game's important," Cignetti said. "We played a little shorthanded, but that's part of the deal for every team in America. And we gotta play better in a lot of different areas and we're lucky to win, but I am so proud of these kids."

Ty Simpson threw for 277 yards and a touchdown Saturday night as No. 4 Alabama stayed unbeaten in the Southeastern Conference by stopping visiting LSU 20-9 in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Simpson completed 21 of 35 passes, again carrying the offensive load for the Crimson Tide (8-1, 6-0 SEC). His 13-yard strike to Ryan Williams with 22 seconds left in the first half gave them an insurmountable 17-3 lead.

Alabama's defense kept the Tigers (5-4, 2-4) out of the end zone in their first game under interim coach Frank Wilson, who took over after Brian Kelly was fired on Oct. 26 after a 49-25 home loss to unbeaten Texas A&M.

But Wilson couldn't fix the offensive issues that have marked LSU this season. Not even a change at quarterback late in the third quarter could supply a spark for the Tigers. Wilson benched starter Garrett Nussmeier after he took a sack that forced them to settle for Damien Ramos' 44-yard field goal at the 8:54 mark.

Backup Michael Van Buren, a transfer who started last year at Mississippi State, took over but couldn't get LSU into the end zone. He was 5 of 11 for 52 yards, leading a drive that resulted in Ramos' 37-yard field goal with 10:28 left in the game that made it 17-9.

However, the Tide took advantage of a short field to salt the game away. Conor Talty converted a 44-yard field goal with 4:25 remaining to make it a two-possession game.

Talty opened the scoring by booming a 45-yard field goal with 1:20 left in the first quarter, followed by Ramos' 37-yarder 2:33 into the second quarter. Alabama answered back with the first touchdown of the game, marching 75 yards in seven plays and taking a 10-3 lead when Daniel Hill scored on a 4-yard run with 9:25 on the clock.

The Tide outgained the Tigers 344-233 but again got little from their struggling running game. They managed just 56 yards on 26 attempts. LSU didn't do much better, collecting 59 yards on 26 attempts.

This was the moment for No. 6 Oregon.

Down 16-15 to No. 20 Iowa with 1:51 remaining, the Ducks drove 54 yards in 10 plays and made a 39-yard field goal with three seconds left to notch a must-have win against a ranked opponent.

This is the result the College Football Playoff selection committee was waiting for.

In explaining why the committee had the Ducks No. 9 in last week's debut rankings, chair Mack Rhoades expressed reservations about their résumé, which before Saturday featured just one victory against an opponent with a winning record.

While there's still more work to be done – and opportunities to further impress the committee against Minnesota, No. 21 Southern California and Washington – the win in Iowa City helps bring the Ducks' résumé more in line with their reputation as one of the best teams in the Power Four.

Looking ahead to Tuesday night's rankings, Oregon is assured of climbing at least one spot and inching closer to an at-large berth.

Oregon running back Noah Whittington (6) runs the ball against Iowa during the second quarter of their game at Kinnick Stadium.

The Ducks, Texas A&M and Brigham Young lead Saturday's biggest winners and losers:

WinnersTexas A&M

No. 3 Texas A&M turned a fumble recovery into a touchdown late in the first half and pulled away coming out of the break for a 38-17 win at No. 22 Missouri, the team's third road win this season against an opponent that was in the Top 25. After some diminishing returns in a shootout win against Arkansas and over the first two quarters against LSU, the A&M defense carried over the ferocious close in Baton Rouge to hold Missouri to just 284 yards and harassed freshman quarterback Matt Zollers into just passing 77 yards on 3.5 yards per attempt. The only unbeaten team in the SEC, the Aggies' convincing win might trigger a debate over which team lands at No. 2 in this week's US LBM Coaches Poll and Tuesday's playoff rankings.

Vanderbilt

The No. 16 Commodores' playoff hopes are still alive after they pulled out a 45-38 overtime win against suddenly frisky Auburn, which clearly experienced some sort of addition by subtraction with the firing of Hugh Freeze. Beating the Tigers meant weathering 442 yards of offense and four scores by quarterback Ashton Daniels, overcoming a 17-3 deficit in the first half and bouncing back from the heartbreak of a failed fourth-down attempt late in regulation when Vanderbilt could've tried a 42-yard field goal. This isn't the first time we've written this sentence this season: Diego Pavia was the hero, delivering 377 passing yards on 11.2 yards per attempt, running for a team-high 112 yards and accounting for four touchdowns, including the game winner in overtime.

Texas Tech

No. 8 Texas Tech's 29-7 win against No. 7 Brigham Young confirms the Red Raiders' place as the unquestioned team to beat in the Big 12. With games against Central Florida and West Virginia to end November and head-to-head tiebreakers against the BYU and Houston in hand, Tech steps into the driver's seat for the conference championship game looking to make some history – the program hasn't won an outright league crown since taking the defunct Border Conference in 1955. The Red Raiders were plus-three in turnover margin, dominated the line of scrimmage and held BYU to only 3.9 yards per play, highlighting the program's immense edge in talent compared to the rest of the conference.

Indiana

Fernando Mendoza tossed a touchdown pass with 36 seconds left and No. 2 Indiana escaped Penn State with a 27-24 win, essentially locking down an appearance in the Big Ten championship game. This is just the Hoosiers' second single-digit win of the year, joining the earlier win against the Ducks, and comes on the heels of wins against Maryland and UCLA by a combined 95 points. Don't read too much into the late comeback and narrower-than-expected win: Indiana might be a powerhouse – that's simply inarguable at this point – but even powerhouse teams need to get lucky once or twice to post an unbeaten regular season in the current landscape of college football.

Wisconsin

Wisconsin scored a touchdown in a home game for the first time since Sept. 20 and won a Big Ten game for the first time in over a year in beating Washington 13-10. That's just the start: Sean West was the Badgers' leading passer, and Sean West had 24 yards, and Sean West is also the punter. Starting quarterback Danny O'Neil left the game due to injury in the first quarter and was replaced by freshman Carter Smith, who had 3 completions in 12 attempts for 8 yards with 47 rushing yards in his debut. But the defense turned in a vintage performance by holding the Huskies to 251 yards with two takeaways. The win comes after athletics director Chris McIntosh announced that coach Luke Fickell would be returning for the 2026 season.

North Carolina

North Carolina held on for dear life and beat Stanford 20-15 for a second win in a row, something Bill Belichick hadn't done since the 2022 Patriots took three in a row against Jets, Colts and Jets again. (This still counts even if two wins came against the Jets.) The Tar Heels have started to climb closer to bowl eligibility with three rivalry games to close the regular season: Wake Forest, Duke and North Carolina State.

LosersBrigham Young

It was a bad but not fatal loss, docking BYU a chunk of national credibility but still leaving the Cougars in range of a rematch with wins against TCU, Cincinnati and UCF. The nature of the loss raises eyebrows, though, while also raising concerns about the Cougars' quarterback play and run defense. Bear Bachmeier averaged a season-low 4.9 yards per pass and tossed his fourth interception of the season while running for just 12 yards, his fewest in a conference game. BYU allowed 149 yards on the ground and is giving up 175.2 yards per game in league play. TCU will force the Cougars' passing game to keep pace while the Bearcats are averaging a tick under 200 rushing yards per game; both games will stress and strain BYU.

The ACC

No. 11 Virginia lost 16-9 to Wake Forest and No. 15 Louisville fell 29-26 in overtime to California, leaving the ACC with just one single one-loss team in No. 14 Georgia Tech and potentially without a team in the top 15 of this week's playoff rankings. The Cavaliers had been walking a tightrope all season, narrowly getting past Florida State, Louisville, Washington State and North Carolina, and couldn't overcome three turnovers and losing quarterback Chandler Morris in the second quarter. After rising in the rankings on the back of wins against James Madison, Pittsburgh and Miami, Louisville falls behind five teams with just one league loss. This whole thing is messy, but can be basically boiled down to this: Like the Big 12 last year, it's more likely than ever the ACC is a one-bid playoff league.

Iowa

The Hawkeyes might not be the most accomplished three-loss team in the country – those six wins are really nothing to write home about – but the three defeats show how close this team is to perfection. Iowa's losses to Iowa State, Indiana and the Ducks have come by a combined 10 points. The Cyclones drilled a 54-yard field goal with under two minutes left to win 16-13 and the Hoosiers trailed 13-10 in the fourth quarter before pulling out a 20-15 win in the final two minutes..

Colorado

The bottom has dropped out in Deion Sanders' third season, with Colorado falling toward the bottom of the Big 12 ladder and ceding much of the goodwill that came from last year's breakthrough. (To little surprise, the Buffaloes have struggled to replace the most prolific passer and the best pound-for-pound player in program history.) But this is a brand-new low: Colorado was plus-two in takeaways and drew a nice game from freshman quarterback Julian Lewis but fell behind early and lost 29-22 to West Virginia, which has taken two in a row under new coach Rich Rodriguez. While more competitive than blowouts against Utah and Arizona, the loss eliminates the Buffaloes from bowl contention.

Are the Dallas Cowboys playing today? NFL Week 10 schedule, matchups, teams on a bye

The Dallas Cowboys' star won't be shining bright in Week 10.

Fresh off a deflating loss to the Arizona Cardinals on "Monday Night Football" in Week 9, Dallas is headed for a much-needed reset. The bye week has arrived for the Cowboys, and they are one of four teams that get the privilege of taking a vacation before returning to action in Week 11.

While players get their minds off their 3-5-1 record after nine games, coaches will do some soul-searching to turn it around before the stretch run.

Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens have all starred at various points in 2025, but the defense remains the thing holding Dallas back.

If they want the playoffs in their future, that'll have to start in Week 11 against the Las Vegas Raiders on "Monday Night Football."

Just eight games separate the Cowboys between the offseason or a playoff run. The way they respond out of the bye week might go a long way in determining which road Dallas ends up traveling down.

Here's what to know about Week 10.
