The 2013 Image Comics series Sex Criminals, written by Matt Fraction and illustrated by Chip Zdarsky, ran for 31 issues for six volumes and is now receiving a television treatment at Amazon's Prime Video.

To pen the scripts about strangers who can stop time during sex, Emily V. Gordon and Kumail Nanjiani, the writers of The Big Sick, along with Tze Chun has been onboarded.

The loglines for comics read: "Suzie's a normal girl with an extraordinary ability: when she has sex, she stops time. One night, she meets John... who has the same gift. And so they do what any other sex-having, time-stopping, couple would do: they rob banks."

Along with Gordon and Nanjiani, Dani Melia will serve as executive producer, whereas Margot Robbie's company, LuckyChap, will be involved in production. There has been no confirmed cast yet, but Nanjiani stars as the male lead.

"Sex Criminals is the exact kind of thing Winter Coat aims to bring to life: love stories in weird places," Gordon and Nanjiani said in a statement. "From the moment LuckyChap brought us Matt and Chip's comic book, we knew we wanted to bring these characters to screen and are so excited to do that alongside Tze Chun and Prime Video."

In a resurfaced interview from the podcast Still Here Hollywood With Steve Kmetko, actress Amy Yasbeck is sharing a little-known story that longtime Three's Company fans may find especially meaningful—a brief, unexpected reunion between her late husband John Ritter and his former co-star Suzanne Somers, who left Three's Company over a reported salary dispute.

The moment unfolded during a Broadway night out at Victor/Victoria. During intermission, Yasbeck ran into Somers in the ladies' room and introduced herself, then told Somers she would "make sure" Ritter said hi at the after-party where Somers was performing.

Back at her seat, Yasbeck decided to give Ritter a heads-up. "I went back to my seat, and I said… 'John, who's the last person you would want to see here?'" His first guess missed the mark. "He went, 'Oh s--t Bochco's here?' … I went, 'No, Suzanne.'"

Yasbeck remembers Ritter physically reacting to the news. "He just like, sat down… he was like, OK." Though he stayed through the rest of the show, the possibility of a reunion clearly lingered.

'Can't Dance, Don't Ask Me'

Later that night, Somers performed "Can't Dance, Don't Ask Me" at the after-party, and Yasbeck says the song became an opening. "I think he went up to her—she was talking to somebody—and he said, 'Can't dance, don't ask me,' And he like, turned around and they hugged it out and stuff, which was great. It was a big thing."

Looking back, Yasbeck is careful to downplay any intentional reconciliation. "I didn't do it a sneaky way," she said, adding, "I think they were great together. But I don't think they ever maybe 'got' each other, like where each other was coming from [after Somers left the show]…John wasn't able to—he didn't ever want to talk about it."

Instead, Ritter chose grace. "He didn't want to refute anything that Suzanne was saying or get into any kind of a weird thing," Yasbeck said. "He just loved her, you know?"

Both Ritter and Somers have since died. Ritter died unexpectedly in September 2003 at the age of just 54 from an undiagnosed aortic dissection while starring on the sitcom8 Simple Rules opposite Katey Sagal and Kaley Cuoco. Somers died 20 years later at the age of 76 after a long battle with breast cancer.

"It was sad when she passed. It was sad when John passed away," Yasbeck reflected. "Because that's then 20 years [lost]. Lost for like a friendship or any kind of furthering of a reunion. But she was great. She was a great, super strong woman and did a lot in also being her own health advocate. So, I thought she was cool."

Of the several rumoured Game of Thrones spinoff projects, many never saw the light of day, some were axed after being caught in development hell, some made it to screens with roaring success, and others got lost in the abyss. Now, rumblings have begun about an animated spinoff.

According to a Deadline report citing HBO and HBO Max content CEO Casey Bloys, work has begun on the long-gestating series 9 Voyages, revolving around the adventures of Lord Corlys Velaryon, aka The Sea Snake. For reference, we have already met the live-action version of the character in House of the Dragon, played by Steve Toussaint.

H (H)

The report read: "HBO has developed a slew of other offshoots, with a number being rumored to be currently in the works, including a Jon Snow and Arya Stark sequel written by Quoc Dang Tran; an animated Sea Snake project Nine Voyages, with Genndy Tartakovsky said to be attached, as well as 10,000 Ships written by Eboni Booth and Aegon's Conquest penned by Mattson Tomlin,"

While conversation swirls around an Arya Stark spinoff, HBO hasn't provided any official confirmation yet. As for the Jon Snow spinoff, Kit Harrington has previously admitted there wasn't a right story to tell about Snow: "Currently, it's off the table, because we all couldn't find the right story to tell that we were all excited about enough," he told ScreenRant.

Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., went to the Super Bowl last year, but this year might be a no-go for the SEC championship-winning football coach.

The former Auburn football coach did not explicitly say he wouldn't be watching the game, but he did say that Bad Bunny's halftime show was off-limits.

"Unfortunately, we've got, I call it the Woke Bowl, because we're getting more and more woke," Tuberville told Newsmax in a recent interview.

"And we've got Bad Bunny, or Bad Rabbit, at halftime. I'll be watching the (Turning Point USA) halftime show. It's just unfortunate we've gotten to this point."

Tuberville's apparent protest comes days after President Donald Trump announced that he will not be at the big game.

"It's just too far away," Trump said of the game at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. "I would, I've [gotten] great hands [at] the Super Bowl. They like me."

Bad Bunny's nod to do the halftime show has been criticized, even by Trump.

"I don't know who he is," Trump told Newsmax of the choice last fall. "I don't know why they're doing it. It's crazy. And then they blame it on some promoter they hired to pick up entertainment. I think it's absolutely ridiculous."

Bad Bunny said last fall he decided to do his residency show in his native Puerto Rico and didn't book any U.S. dates on his tour over fears his fans would be detained by ICE agents.

Green Day will play before kickoff — frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has also been critical of the president. He has likened Trump to Hitler in the past, and the band frequently changes the line "I'm not part of a redneck agenda" from their 2004 hit "American Idiot" to "I'm not part of the MAGA agenda" in more recent live performances, according to The Independent.

"I'm anti-them," Trump told the New York Post of the performers. "I think it's a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible."

Mike Dirnt, from left, Billie Joe Armstrong, and Tré Cool of Green Day arrive at the FireAid benefit concert at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, on Jan. 30, 2025.

The game will feature the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks on Feb. 8.

O'Hara's connection to Burton spanned decades. She memorably played Delia Deetz in the original Beetlejuice and reprised the role in the 2024 sequel. Beyond live-action, she also lent her voice to Burton's animated projects The Nightmare Before Christmas and Frankenweenie, becoming a recurring presence in his creative universe.

Burton joins a growing list of stars paying tribute to O'Hara, including Macaulay Culkin, Keaton, and her Schitt's Creekcostars Eugene and Dan Levy. O'Hara died on January 30 at age 71 following what her agency described as a "brief illness."

In the hours before her death, O'Hara was reportedly rushed to a Los Angeles hospital in "serious condition." Actress Holly Hunterhas been donning a Starfleet uniform for her newest role as Nahla Ake in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, which premiered in January 2026.

Hunter spoke about playing the Starfleet Academy chancellor, who happens to have quite a long lifespan due to being half-Lanthanite, during a January 30 interview onThe Kelly Clarkson Show, hosted by Kelly Clarkson. During the interview, Hunter told Clarkson that she remembered watching some of Star Trek: The Original Series when it first aired in the 1960s. She said, however, that she wasn't a fan of the science fiction franchise before being cast as Nahla. The actress explained that her lack of Star Trek knowledge made learning the franchise's terminology challenging.

"It's like, 'How do I pronounce this?' These are words that I've never heard of before. Some of them are definitely made up. Some of them are in the Trek, you know, terminology. And I'm not a Trekkie, so a lot of them I didn't know," explained Hunter on the talk show.

She clarified that she was eventually able to get used to the dialogue.

"I had to really verse myself in that language. Just real repetition. And then it was just so much fun," said Hunter during the January 30 interview.

Hunter also said that while her character is the head of Starfleet Academy, she views herself as an equal to her co-stars, even if they are playing academy students. She explained that while she has been in the entertainment industry longer than her younger castmates, they are still all learning from each other.

"Even though they're much younger than I am, I didn't care. they're my fellow actors. They are my coworkers," said Hunter in the interview. "We are cohorts, we are shoulder to shoulder. I didn't wanna take an advisory position, or a punitive. None of that. I'm learning alongside these young actors. And they're teaching me stuff, so it was a beautiful collaboration."

New episodes of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy air on Thursdays on Paramount+.

The cancellations come after video surfaced of Bankas mocking Renee Good, who was fatally shot by an ICE agent on Jan. 7

The owner of the club told PEOPLE he made the decision to cancel the shows amid safety concerns for guests and staff

A comedy club in Minnesota canceled six sold-out shows featuring comedian Ben Bankas over jokes he made about the late Renee Good.

The cancellations come after Bankas shared a clip from a show in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., several days after Good, a mom of three, was fatally shot by an ICE agent on Jan. 7.

In the video, shared to Instagram on Jan. 13, Bankas says, "Her last name was Good. That's what I said after they shot her," while also referring to Good's wife as a "dog" and calling Good "retarded."

The video has been viewed over eight million times as of Jan. 31.

In a statement shared with PEOPLE, Bill Collins, owner of Laugh Camp Comedy Club in St. Paul, explained that he canceled Bankas' shows over safety concerns for audiences and staff.

"After discussions with, and concern from, public authorities, legal counsel and staff, combined with heightened threats, increasing media attention and civil disorder we have determined the risks and related liabilities cannot be overcome," Collins said in an email to PEOPLE regarding his decision to cancel the shows.

The club owner added, "A small club like ours does not have the needed resources to mitigate current risks. We are obligated to place the highest priority on the safety of our guests, staff and talent and we are left with no option but to cancel."

After viewing Bankas' video, a number of St. Paul locals said they were prepared to protest at Bankas's upcoming performances, which were scheduled between Jan. 30 and Feb 1, according to The Minnesota Star Tribune.

It was at this juncture that Collins said he canceled the shows.

"The risks to our community, staff and guests are too great," Collins, who has run the club since 2007, said while speaking to the outlet. He additionally said that the decision could cost him about $17,000.

Collins also told the Tribune that Creative Artist Agency (CAA), who currently represents the comedian, is insisting that the club fully compensate Bankas for the canceled shows due to the fact that he was willing to perform. He also told the outlet that CAA will not allow any of its other clients to perform at the club until the matter is fully resolved.

CAA did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

Bankas addressed the canceled shows in a video shared on Instagram on Thursday, Jan. 29.

In the clip, he tells an audience, "I just found out that my shows were canceled in Minnesota," which elicited loud boos from the audience.

'F-ck 'em," he added, seemingly referring to Laugh Camp Comedy Club.

He additionally said that he is "working on new venue and dates for the fine people of Minnesota," in the post's caption.

Bankas, who was born in Toronto and now lives in Austin, hosts YouTube's The Tanakas Show, which "reaches more than 10,000 monthly listeners" and has been featured on InfoWars and Fox News, according to his website.

The cancellations come amid a flood of civil unrest in Minnesota following the deaths of both Good and ICU nurse Alex Pretti, who was fatally shot by federal agents on Jan. 24.

Thousands of residents in the Twin Cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis have since taken to the streets to protest the presence of ICE in their state.

A National Day of Action — also dubbed "ICE Out of Everywhere National Day of Action" — took place on Friday, Jan. 30.

Strike organizers urged people all across the country to take off from work and refrain from shopping in order to "stop funding ICE," in addition to nation-wide protest, per their website.
