Et tu, Pawwwll?

The ESPN personality who has been called the “Mouth of the South” and once authored a book about the SEC’s superiority predicts the Big Ten’s rule over college football will continue this season.

Paul Finebaum says Oregon will win the national championship.

Whoa. That would be B1Gly.

If Finebaum’s forecast comes true, it would mean four straight national championships for the Big Ten, supplied by four teams.

The SEC won seven consecutive national championships during its reign amid the BCS era (2006-12). During that stretch, it had four programs — LSU, Florida, Alabama and Auburn — win the crystal ball in successive seasons.

If Oregon triumphs this season, the Ducks would follow the Big Ten's Michigan, Ohio State and Indiana.

Finebaum recently joined me for an episode of the “College Football Unfiltered” podcast that I host for USA TODAY Sports.

During a rapid-fire portion of the podcast, I asked him for his picks for national champion, Heisman Trophy winner and playoff sleeper team.

Each time, he offered a Big Ten-themed response.

Careful, Paul, the SEC Network's overlords won't like that line of thinking.

I forgot to ask Finebaum whether the SEC would retain its hold on the “metrics trophy,” a mythical honor inspired by commissioner Greg Sankey’s bizarre rationalization of the SEC surrendering the throne to the Big Ten.

So, who does Finebaum like for the Heisman? Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith.

And a CFP sleeper? Put Finebaum down for Penn State. Before you roll your eyes, peek at Penn State’s schedule, which features just three teams ranked in the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll, ahead of Matt Campbell’s debut season in Happy Valley.

“It’s obscenely easy,” Finebaum said of the schedule.

Lest you think Finebaum gave no love for the SEC, he offered a couple of hat tips when I asked about the best atmospheres for the “SEC Nation” Saturday morning pregame show Finebaum stars on during the football season.

“Believe it or not, it’s Mississippi State,” he said. “We have done three or four shows there from the Junction for an 11 o’clock game, so they put us right there, and the Dawg Walk happens. The year Dak (Prescott) was there, we had about 60,000 people around us.”

Finebaum also couldn’t resist giving a shoutout to the scene at Tennessee, his alma mater. I’ve joined Finebaum on set from Ayres Hall at Tennessee when he’s broadcast "The Paul Finebaum Show” there on Fridays, ahead of “SEC Nation” the next day.

“I would say, when there’s not an 11 o’clock (noon Eastern) game, my favorite atmosphere is Tennessee,” he told me. “It’s self-serving, and it’s biased, but we do the show from Ayres Hall — you’ve been there, you’ve sat with us — and there’s just nothing quite like being on that hill at 7 o’clock in the morning or 6:30 in the morning, when we get there, and being reminded of being a college junior or senior.”

Finally, some love for the embattled SEC, from the host of a four-hour daily show on the SEC Network.

Of course, if “SEC Nation” took its show on the road and got a taste of scenes in Columbus, Eugene, Iowa City or State College, Finebaum might sing a different tune.

Contenders from around the world are converging on a tiny Scottish island for one of the country's most unlikely international sporting events - the world stone skimming championships.

The annual contest on the isle of Easdale, in the Inner Hebrides, has attracted a record number of international entries, representing more than 30 nations, with some flying in from New Zealand and Canada.

Last year's competition was rocked by a cheating scandal after some contestants were accused of stone tampering.

Toss Master Kyle Mathews, co-organiser of the event, said an official tournament geologist had been appointed this year, leaving no stone unturned in keeping the 400 challengers in order.

The contest was first held in 1983, inspired by an alcohol-fuelled conversation in a pub, and has been held every year since 1997 apart from an interlude during Covid.

Traditionally a male-dominated sport, efforts have been made to make it more inclusive, with this year's event attracting a record number of women and under-16s.

Some 200 qualifiers from last year's Easdale event and others around the world will compete along with 200 challengers, selected by ballot because the contest is so oversubscribed.

Around 2,000 spectators are also expected to be ferried across a short stretch of water to the island which normally has a population of about 60.

The contest has strict rules and traditions. Stones must come from Easdale, which is one of the four Slate Islands, and must be less than three inches (7.6cm) in diameter.

They are tested by being passed through the Ring of Truth.

Last year the contest was mired in scandal after it was noticed that some contestants' stones were suspiciously circular.

When quizzed by the organisers, the miscreants confessed that they had sanded them into a better shape - and were duly disqualified.

"It was a bit of a shocker," said Mathews, a community doctor who is originally from Ireland.

"But if anything it was quite flattering. It goes to show how much some people want to win the tournament."

This year former engineer turned social media geologist Luisa Hendry will be on hand to study the stones and, if necessary, settle disputes.

Known as the Scottish Geologist, she has amassed thousands of followers with her short videos, and she will also be offering tours explaining how the island's rock formations make it the ideal venue for the championships.

At one time 500 people lived on the island that "roofed the world", with public buildings across Scotland - and as far away as Canada and Australia - made rain-tight with Easdale slate.

While exports continued well into the 20th Century, the industry was dealt a devastating blow in 1881 by a huge wave that flooded the seven quarries, including the venue for the skimming contest.

Contestants in the world championships get three skims, launched from a large flat rock known as the Skim of Destiny. The stone must stay within a marked lane and hit the water at least three times.

The distances are added up, although some of the most proficient skimmers will hit the back wall of the quarry, a distance of 207ft or 63m.

The highest scorers make it through to a grand final, called the Toss Off, which decides who carries away the trophies.

This year's defending champions are Jonathan Jennings from Kentucky, the first men's winner from the USA, and the formidable Lucy Wood from Sheffield who will be hoping for her seventh women's title.

There are also team trophies and awards for both younger contestants and over-60s, who can compete in the "Old Tossers" category.

Aside from being a fun family day out and a fertile source of schoolboy humour, the tournament has a serious benefit, raising about £15,000 for community charities and boosting the local economy by many thousands more.

Last year about a third of visitors came from outside Scotland, and most of them spent at least two nights in accommodation in Argyll and Bute.

Asked what makes the tournament so popular, Mathews said he felt it was a primeval connection with rock and water, coupled with misty-eyed childhood memories.

"Whenever you mention stone skimming, it immediately brings up nostalgic memories of doing it with their family - parents or grandparents teaching them how to do it," he explained.

The Toss Master also has a third theory about the attraction of skipping stones across water.

"Because you only do it with your family and if you're better than your brother or dad, you think you're good at it," he said.

"In every other sport, like tennis or football, you quickly come up against people who are better."

The current world distance record is held by Dougie Isaacs, a Scot who managed to skim a stone nearly 400ft (122m) in a contest in Wales in 2018.

"A lot of people are in for a shock when they see just how good the real competitors are," Mathews cautioned.

He also apologized to his supporters for the unfortunate news, while also writing that he considers his health issue an “opportunity.”

“Hi folks, these days, when someone is having a health issue, it’s referred to as an 'opportunity,' so let’s go with that – I’m having one of those. It’s also called a type of cancer that’s 'treatable' not 'curable.' I apologize if that’s a shock – it was to me too.”

Meanwhile, in his latest appearance on The Adam Carolla Show, Bruce Campbell discussed his health status while still keeping the type of cancer he has under wraps.

During the interview, Bruce Campbell was promoting Ernie & Emma, an independent film he wrote, directed, produced, and stars in.

The movie follows a man dealing with the death of his wife, giving the project a personal connection to Campbell’s current circumstances.

The actor explained that he is working with a five-year prognosis related to his type of cancer. Host Adam Carolla then asked him:

"So the prognosis is that you have five years to live?"

Campbell responded:

“Give or take.”

Campbell rose to fame through the Evil Dead franchise, where he played Ash Williams and also served as a co-producer on the horror films. His career has also included roles in television, live-action movies, and voice work.

Some of his voice roles include Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Cars 2, and The Ant Bully.

Despite his health struggles, Campbell has not ceased to work. Ernie & Emma is yet another artistic endeavor on the part of the actor while undergoing treatment for cancer that he calls "treatable."

Campbell has not shared any further information regarding his diagnosis or treatment.

Family dinners are a little different when your mother-in-law is Queen Elizabeth.

During a recent interview on BBC Radio 5 with Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, the talk turned to the 10th anniversary of Great Britain’s women winning gold in field hockey at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Sophie, 61, an avid sports fan who has been the patron of England Hockey since 2006, recalled that she followed along with every game of the Olympic tournament, despite the time difference.

She ran into some bad luck, however, when the championship match between Great Britain and the defending gold medal team from the Netherlands fell during a family dinner with the Queen at Balmoral, where the royals traditionally gather in the late summer. Sophie said she tried her best to stay on the score throughout the meal — to the eventual annoyance of the monarch.

“Actually, somebody who was helping at the table who’s an avid hockey fan kept on coming in and whispering the score to me,” Sophie shared. “I was twitching, and eventually, Her Majesty sat there and said, ‘Oh, for goodness’ sake, just go!’ ”

Sophie recalled that she then “ran through to the library” to watch the rest of the game. She was even joined by her father-in-law, Prince Philip, “who loved good sport” and was entertained by Sophie “leaping up and screaming” as she cheered on the Brits.

“I think he was watching my reaction more than he was watching the television because I was literally living and breathing every moment,” Sophie said.

When the gold medal match was tied in the final moments, Sophie said she turned to find out the monarch had also made her way to the library and “was standing in the doorway watching.”

But the medal-deciding penalty shots were too much for Queen Elizabeth to take, according to her daughter-in-law.

“She couldn’t cope with pressure,” Sophie said. “She had to take herself away again.”

Ultimately, England won the penalties and earned the women’s team their first-ever Olympic gold in field hockey. Sophie recalled that she was in a “flood of tears” while Prince Phillip remained thoroughly entertained by her enthusiasm.

She and the rest of the royals seemed to be tuning in from Balmoral Castle during the family’s annual getaway to the Scottish Highlands.

The property, which sits on the River Dee in Aberdeenshire, was especially beloved by the late Queen Elizabeth, who was known to leave for Scotland in late July and not return to London until October, with other members of the family joining her for periods of her stay.

Her granddaughter Princess Eugenie said of Balmoral in the 2016 documentary Our Queen at Ninety, “I think Granny is the most happy there. I think she really, really loves the Highlands.”

Since her death at Balmoral in September 2022, the Scottish estate has remained a place of respite for the Queen’s descendants. King Charles, 77, has continued his mother’s tradition of spending some of the late summer at Balmoral since his accession. Prince William and Kate Middleton, both 44, usually visit with their three children — Prince George, 13, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8 — as well as other royals.

“My family has deep connections there, and it was such a fun part of my childhood and upbringing,” Prince William told Country Lifein 2018.

A public broadside from AMC Entertainment (NYSE:AMC) chief executive Adam Aron over tokenized shares is splitting Friday morning's tape between two retail favorites. Robinhood Markets (NASDAQ:HOOD) is on the receiving end of the criticism, though the specific product Aron is attacking sits outside U.S. reach.

Broad-market indexes are close to flat, with the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (NYSEARCA:SPY) down 0.1% to $772.23. In large-cap tech, the Invesco QQQ Trust (NASDAQ:QQQ) is up 0.4% to $720.22, leaving today's split disconnected from the wider tape.

AMC stock is up 6% to $2.69 in early Friday trading, adding to a stretch in which the shares were up 63% year to date through Thursday's close. Meanwhile, Robinhood stock is down 3% to $121.30, giving back a sliver of a run that had the shares up 33% over the past month through Thursday's close.

Aron's Broadside Over Tokenized Shares

Aron condemned Robinhood in a post on X on Wednesday, calling the practice "contemptible, outrageous, disgusting, detestable, inexcusable, vile." He said AMC Entertainment has no connection to the tokens, doesn't condone them, and questioned how the practice can be legal given the tokens aren't registered under U.S. securities laws. His post described the tokens as trading without the company's involvement or consent.

In the same statement, Aron said the program covers more than 190 companies and that AMC Entertainment would instruct outside securities counsel to look into it immediately. The escalation makes Aron the first chief executive to raise the tokenization question publicly rather than privately, and it lands with the weight of a leader who runs a company with a large retail shareholder base.

The operating context matters here. AMC Entertainment is coming off Q2 2026 revenue of $1.6 billion, up 14.2% year over year, with adjusted EBITDA up 70% to $321.4 million, and Aron called that quarter "nothing short of extraordinary." That's the operating backdrop he's carrying into a fight over ownership rights.

What the Tokens Actually Are

By its own documentation, Robinhood describes the products as tokenized debt securities issued by a Jersey-based entity that give holders economic exposure to a share price without legal or beneficial rights in the underlying security. They aren't registered in the United States, can't be offered or delivered to U.S. persons, and face additional restrictions in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland.

The two moves appear connected on the surface, though the mechanics of the token program complicate any direct link. No U.S. investor can buy the tokens Aron is objecting to, so Robinhood stock is giving back part of a very large recent move that reads more like profit taking than a verdict on tokenization. AMC stock, for its part, is a low-priced, heavily traded name responding to its chief executive making news rather than to any change in the theater business.

Chief executive Vlad Tenev said on Robinhood's Q2 2026 call that Trust Accounts, launched in August, had taken in more than $150 million, with an average account size of about $500,000. Tenev also said more than 190 stock tokens are live and have generated over $3 billion in cumulative decentralized exchange volume. Those figures underscore why Robinhood views tokenization as strategic even as the U.S. availability question remains open.

Tenev has framed the initiative as a global-access story rather than a U.S. trading vehicle. On the same call, he described the products as a way to give holders round-the-clock, on-chain, fractionalized exposure to real-world assets, with the demonstration products explicitly called out as unavailable in the United States. That framing sits in direct tension with Aron's argument that a broker can't manufacture exposure to a listed company's shares without the company's consent.

AMC stock's session pop rides a year of sharp outperformance, while Robinhood stock's pullback trims one stretch of very rapid gains. What to Watch Next

The dispute raises a real and unsettled question: whether a broker can manufacture tradable exposure to a company's shares without that company's consent. Investors can watch for whether AMC Entertainment's outside counsel produces a formal complaint or filing, since that would move the story from an X post to a documented action.

Shareholders may want to check for whether Robinhood's monthly volume disclosures signal any deceleration in token activity as the debate spreads. Neither company faces an immediate financial hit from the argument itself, so the next real tell is procedural rather than fundamental, and it may take weeks to arrive.

Traders scaling into either name should size their positions to the volatility on display. AMC stock trades below $3 and can move in double-digit percentages on modest news, and Robinhood stock has run hard into a busy product cycle, so their exposure to any single-session headline can swing wider than the ticker suggests.

The couple, married for two years, shared their pregnancy news exclusively with PEOPLE in June

Andrea and Lexi’s baby girl is the third baby born within the In the City cast in less than three months

Andrea Denver and his wife Lexi Sundin have welcomed their baby girl into the world!

On Thursday, Sept. 3, the In the City stars announced the happy news in a joint Instagram post and revealed their little one’s name.

“Our little Astrid 🩷,” the caption began. “It’s already been a week with her, and our hearts have never been so full. Best thing we’ve ever done!! 🙌.”

The caption accompanied a carousel of photos of the couple in the hospital with Astrid as they cradled her in a blanket and a white floral onesie.

One sweet snap also saw Astrid holding her father’s little finger.

“She’s perfect!!! So happy for you guys!!! 💕😍💖,” the pair’s In the City costar Lindsay Hubbard wrote in the comments section, while Andrea’s former Summer House costar Luke Gulbranson added, “Congrats!!! 👏 🎉”.”

Andrea, 35, and Lexi, 26, exclusively shared with PEOPLE that they were expecting their first baby together back in June.

The news came two years after the Bravo stars tied the knot in Italy.

Sharing that they were “stunned” by their pregnancy news, Lexi told PEOPLE, “Last fall, we decided it was time to start trying for a family, something we had always hoped for. Over Christmas, while we were spending time with family, I realized my period was a few days late and had a feeling I might be pregnant.”

“I took a test on my own because I didn’t want us both getting our hopes up too soon, and when it came back positive, I immediately went to find Andrea,” she continued. “It was one of those moments you wish you could bottle up forever. We were completely stunned in the best way and filled with gratitude.”

The arrival of Astrid marks the third baby that has been welcomed among the In the City cast in less than three months.

Costars Danielle Olivera, and Eoin Heaveywelcomed their son Aidan in to the world on June 21, with the little one arriving 10 weeks early. On Aug. 24, Olivera, 37, confirmed that the couple had been able to bring Aidan home after 63 days in the NICU.

Summer House alum Olivera sent her congratulations to Andrea and Lexi on their announcement, writing in the comments section of their post, “Love little Astrid so much already!!”

Costars Yvonne Najor and Nick Barber then shared that they had welcomed their first child together, a baby boy, on Aug. 20.

“We are thrilled to introduce you to the newest member of our family: Leonardo Robert Daniel Barber, born August 20, 2026,” they wrote in a joint Instagram post on Aug. 26.

Oscar-winning actress Sandra Bullock recently made a shocking claim about extraterrestrials, during her appearance on Kylie Kelce’s podcast, on Thursday, Sept. 3.

Bullock claimed to have seen UFOs with her own eyes, which has now made her believe that aliens live among us.

Admitting to having encountered unidentified anomalous phenomena, the actress further claimed to be grateful to the government for what she described as government corroboration of her story.

Sandra Bullock Says She Has Seen ‘Alien Ships Flying Around the Sky’

Appearing on Thursday’s episode of Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast, Sandra Bullock said she had witnessed a UFO sighting.

“Hi, I’m Sandra Bullock, and I’m not gonna lie. There are alien ships flying around the sky. I’ve seen them, and I’m so happy the government has finally corroborated my story,” she began.

Explaining how she initially felt like she was going insane after the night of the UFO sighting, Bullock claimed to be grateful to the U.S. government for eventually corroborating her story.

“I no longer feel like an insane person,” Bullock said of the validation she received. Kelce then asked, “How many times have you seen them?” to which the actress replied, “Just once, just one time.”

Bullock went on to explain her encounter which happened when she was filming in St. Martin “and a bunch of us went out, so there were a couple of beers involved, and we were all lying on the sand.”

“And so we’re all looking up at the sky, and I see this little point of light, thinking to myself, ‘Oh, satellite,’” she initially felt. However, she later added, “I’m watching it, and then there’s another little light that comes from a different direction to meet that light there,”

She continued explaining how the two UFOs “stayed” in one spot, and later “There were five altogether. They all sort of came together.” Bullock even admitted questioning her own sanity during the encounter as she had “a little bit of a buzz going” from the beer she had been drinking.

“And then all of a sudden, pfffft, they just took off like that. And so you look around, going, ‘Anybody else see that?’ I think one of the other people had seen it as well,” Bullock recalled.

Bullock Admits She Remained ‘Quiet’ About The UFO Sighting

Following the UFO sighting, as she questioned whether she had imagined the encounter after having a few beers, Sandra Bullock admitted staying “quiet” about the encounter for almost three decades.

According to the actress, the sighting took place when she was filming the 1997 movie, Speed 2: Cruise Control, which was filmed on the Caribbean island of St. Martin.

“I was just quiet about it until the government released the documents, and that exact formation was also seen by legitimate pilots. So I feel vindicated,” she admitted.

Bullock further clarified that “This was before drones were around.” She then added that she believes there’s life in outer space and humans aren’t the only ones.

The actress noted, “I think they’re here. I think they’re here watching and laughing, but they’re invisible.”
