Olympian Simone Biles reveals she has spent the week in bed after a major health scare.

The 7-time gold medalist said that while she typically keeps her health private, she wanted to acknowledge what was one of "the scariest experience[s]" of her life.

Biles added that it was all the worse because her husband, Jonathan Owens, was away when the incident occurred.

Simone Biles is sharing a rare health update with fans after a frightening near-death experience.

The U.S. gymnast and 7-time gold medalist took to her Instagram Stories on Saturday to reveal that she is "in bed resting" after surviving a recent health scare.

"I'm not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today's age," Biles began the June 6 post. "But almost dying wasn't on my bingo card earlier this week."

She continued, "This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life. Especially since [husband] Jonathan [Owens] was in Indy for practices." [Owens, who married Biles in April 2023, signed a one-year deal with the Indianapolis Colts in March 2026.]

Biles' message was accompanied by a photo of Biles' arm, on which she wore a hospital wristband.

"I've been in bed resting this week," she added. "I'll explain sooner or later but s/o to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers. Loooovveeee y'all."

Biles offered no further details about the frightening incident, but did share a photo of flowers she had received from someone wishing her well and another that saw her resting in bed with the couple's two dogs.

"I'll be here," she wrote, alongside a photo of a heart-rate monitor.

Just two days prior, Biles hinted at her recent hospital trip while giving fans a peek at her Texas mansion. Among the photos from inside her home was a snap of Biles holding a plate of eggs, sausage and toast from her own bed.

"Breakfast in bed. Just what the doctor ordered," she captioned the now-expired post.

Biles last competed in the Olympics during the 2024 Paris Summer Games, which saw her score three gold medals in team, all-around and vault. She also scored silver for floor exercise. Biles has said that in the aftermath of her competition that year, her body "collapse[d]" and she was sick for nearly two weeks.

In terms of her future, the Olympian has publicly declared that she is unsure whether she will compete at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

"I have accomplished so much in my sport. For me to come back, I would really need to be excited by it," Biles told French sports newspaper L'Equipelast year. "You're going to tell me that the perspective of the Games in Los Angeles is fascinating. And I will be there, whether on the apparatus or in the stands, I still haven't decided."

- *Scandal* costars Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn reunited for *Variety*'s Actors on Actors series.

- The pair, who had a steamy on-screen romance on the ABC drama, chatted about their recent TV roles and reflected on working together.

- Washington recently starred on *Imperfect Women*, while Goldwyn starred on *Hacks* and *Law & Order*.

Someone alert the media: Olivia and Fitz are having a one-on-one talk.

Kerry Washington and Tony Goldwyn, who costarred on Shonda Rhimes’ ABC drama *Scandal** *from 2012 to 2018, reunited for *Variety*’s Actors on Actors* *series on June 6.

While the pair discussed their recent TV projects —Washington on *Imperfect Women* and Goldwyn on *Hacks* and *Law & Order* —they also made time to reflect on their steamy on-screen relationship.

"People are so passionate about Olitz, still," Washington said. "Also, have you noticed this thing online where some people are like, 'Now that I’m older and I watch the relationship, I’m not sure how healthy it is.' Have you seen any of that?"

Goldwyn was surprised, replying, "They’re just figuring that out? Interesting!"

"They weren’t the healthiest couple. That doesn’t mean they weren’t madly in love, but they had some difficulties, which is why people loved it," she said.

On the series, which ran for seven seasons, Washington played fixer Olivia Pope, opposite Goldwyn's President Fitzgerald "Fitz" Grant. Olivia worked on Fitz's presidential campaign, and when we first meet her, she's already left her position as director of communications at the White House. (Of course, her connection with the POTUS was a reason!)

Despite the ups and downs, the actors think Olivia and Fitz are still together. "I feel that what we had at the root of it was very real, and it’s why we could never get away from it — as opposed to being something that was ultimately dysfunctional. I thought ultimately these two people were their answer to each other," Goldwyn suggested.

Washington said she believes that they are in couples therapy.

"Yes, regularly!" Goldwyn agreed. "Because they know that’s what they have to do to survive. But I think Fitz spent some time in Vermont. He needed to get out of the toxic patterns. ... But I feel like he was very supportive of her trajectory — whether she became president of the United States or whatever her thing was, I feel like his real jones was to help this woman be, like … her best self."

Olivia and Fitz's on-again-off-again romance was a standout element of the series, especially since the actors had great chemistry.

"What was funny immediately was we just vibed as people and actors," Goldwyn told ** in 2025.

"Yeah, instant friends," Washington agreed.

The actors have remained in touch since the show ended, often tagging each other on social media posts. Earlier this year, Washington called Goldwyn on an episode of *Call Her Daddy* to chat about their intimate scenes together.

- Mayim Bialik says she experienced severe side effects after taking one GLP-1 injection at the recommendation of her doctor.

- "For the first two days, I ate maybe one cup of rice and half a banana," she wrote. "I couldn't even keep electrolyte drinks down."

- Bialik shared that the "nightmare" made her reflect on a complicated relationship between body image and Hollywood's propensity to pressure many to lose weight.

Mayim Bialik is opening up about her recent "nightmare" experience with GLP-1 medication, and how the experience made her reflect on Hollywood's effect on body image.

In an essay published by *The Free Press* on Friday, the actress told readers that she suffered from severe side effects after taking a single dose of a GLP-1 medication at the recommendation of doctors who suggested it might help alleviate symptoms she experienced due to autoimmune conditions she has dealt with for years.

"I went on a weight-loss drug because a doctor told me it might help ease symptoms I've struggled with for basically my entire adult life," Bialik wrote. "I was diagnosed with my first autoimmune condition—Graves’ disease—at the height of my health, when I was 23... Twenty-five years, four unexplained hernias, and four exploratory surgeries later, I was well past perimenopause and drowning in symptoms I couldn’t explain: full-body rashes and welts, severe histamine reactions to foods and smells, palpitations, hourly wake-ups for an entire year, crying jags alternating with crippling depression."

Bialik was then met with "string of diagnoses" that she saw as "just a label for a larger breakdown that no single specialist could quite explain." They included connective tissue disease, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), Sjögren’s syndrome, and dysautonomia.

After years of trying various treatments, Bialik said three separate doctors recommended a GLP-1 medication because " the drugs have shown promise in reducing the systemic inflammation that drives autoimmune conditions."

Hoping it might offer relief, she agreed to try it, but what she detailed that followed was far worse than she anticipated.

"I took one shot of the lowest dose of a synthetic GLP-1, and to say I had an adverse reaction would be somewhat of an understatement," Bialik recalled. "Explosive, uncontrollable diarrhea. Sulfur burps so violent they left me afraid to open my mouth in public. Sneezing attacks every time I tried to eat or drink--which apparently has a name, snatiation. Cramping. Bloating. Full-body aching, as though I had the flu. And an inability to keep down even small sips of water without sprinting to the bathroom with yet more explosive diarrhea. More than three times, I didn't make it."

At one point, she said she required IV fluids after becoming unable to stay hydrated.

"For the first two days, I ate maybe one cup of rice and half a banana," she wrote. "I couldn't even keep electrolyte drinks down."

But what Bialik said she was most surprised by was when her doctor told her that severe side effects were not uncommon. She wrote that she later learned that nausea, vomiting and diarrhea are among the most frequently reported side effects associated with GLP-1 medication.

The Mayo Clinic notes that while GLP-1 medications have helped many patients (often with diabetes) lose weight, researchers continue to study potential long-term effects, including loss of muscle mass, reduced bone density and other health impacts that may emerge with prolonged use.

The actress emphasized that she didn't initially seek out the medication to lose weight, but the experience triggered some long-held and complicated feelings regarding body image that remained within her after growing up in the spotlight as a child star.

Bialik —who rose to fame as the titular quirky character known for her floppy hats on *Blossom* —wrote that she was largely unconcerned about her weight as a child, but began gaining weight after being prescribed medication as a teenager. Over time, she developed what she described as a sense of shame around her body and a disordered relationship with food.

"By the time social media arrived — with its fixation on being thinner, more toned, more surgically perfected — that pressure tipped into a disordered relationship with food that I have spent years trying to untangle," she wrote. And in the depth of her "misery" taking the GLP-1 medication, the actress acknowledged that "a piercing, devastating thought occurred to me: At least you might lose some weight."

She added, "Even when I was too sick to stand, drink water, or think straight, I was still chasing that dragon."

Ultimately, Bialik decided not to continue taking the medication and gave away the remaining doses she had.

Bialik wrote that the experience gave her a new appreciation for people living with chronic gastrointestinal conditions, and reflected on the complicated realization about body image and the pressure to lose weight, particularly in Hollywood. She wrote that social media is saturated with ads and testimonials on the weight loss effects of the drugs, including celebrities showing off noticeably thinner bodies on red carpets and magazine covers, highlighting the intense pressure many feel to become thinner.

"I caught a glimpse of my reflection, and I did not recoil," she wrote. "I did not see under my first chin that second chin on which I had been fixating for months—because it wasn’t there. My cheekbones were visible. I gazed for a moment, flashed a Mona Lisa smile, and headed to the parking lot, stopping briefly to hike up my skirt, which had started to sag at my hips ever so slightly."

What happens when a silver screen icon meets an icon of Marxist revolution? Apparently, "ecstasy."

At least, that's how it went down for Mamie Van Doren — one of the final blonde bombshells molded in Marilyn Monroe's image to make a real impact on Hollywood before its own revolution of the 1960s. Van Doren, born Joan Lucille Olander, spares no detail of her rollicking ride through film business's golden age in *You Thought I Was Dead*, her new memoir out now from Post Hill Press.

In one scintillating section, Van Doren recalls an unexpected erotic encounter she had while shooting the 1961 film *An American in Buenos Aires *on location in the Argentine capital. After one grueling day on set, she and costar, Jean-Pierre Aumont, a former freedom fighter in the French Resistance during WWII, planned to let off some steam at a ritzy party thrown by a local industrialist.

Van Doren writes of seeing Aumont sporting a "wide grin" while talking to an equally dashing compatriot at the function, a man he introduced as "Generalissimo Ernesto Che Guevara." Though his mustache "was a bit sparse and scruffy" and his hair "not quite ready for prime time," Van Doren writes, "We sipped, eyeing each other. I thought: 'Charming smile, soft Spanish accent, an altogether dashing presence in fatigues. What could go wrong?'"

Ernesto Guevara de la Serna, nicknamed Che, rose to prominence a handful of years before his meeting with Van Doren. A native of Cuba, Guevara traveled the world, building a potent and influential philosophy of anti-capitalist, anti-colonial revolution, that held guerrilla warfare as a central tenet. He played a critical role in the Cuban Revolution, and thereafter traveled to countries like Algeria and Bolivia to help foment and follow through on nascent revolutionary movements.

When he met Van Doren in 1961, he was just days from traveling to Congo to help quell an increasingly explosive political crisis. By 1967, he would be dead, executed by a U.S.-backed Bolivian firing squad after working to organize a resistance group in Santa Cruz.

But down in Buenos Aires, Guevara plotted a "little subterfuge," Van Doren recalls. "'I asked our host to switch my placard so I could sit next to you,'" Van Doren says he told her, adding that he "once wanted to be an actor" but lost interest because there was "too much waiting" involved.

Chatting at the swanky soirée, Van Doren asked Guevara if he liked American movies. He told her that he loved "American cowboy movies," explaining that "Gene Autry movies are classic blueprints for revolution... [Autry] rides into a town where there is trouble. The townspeople's cattle are being stolen. They’re being forced off their lands. They’re being overcharged for their food, and they are being underpaid for what they produce on their farms and ranches... He exposes the plotters and cleans up the mess, fighting off the hired guns with a rain of bullets... you could say that Mr. Autry and I are in the same business — getting justice for the helpless and the weak."

Van Doren accepted the charming revolutionary's offer to drive her back to her accommodations. There, things took a wild turn.

"There are love scenes, and there are love scenes. Nearly always, they are spiced by the promise of the unexpected. An armed guard at the bedroom door was about as unexpected as it gets," Van Doren writes.

"Che and I wasted no time. He took me in his arms and kissed me. My tingles merged into a cosmic jolt and I was instantly aflame with desire," she continues. "Before I realized it, we were naked, and Che was carrying me to bed," inspiring a feeling in her that "champagne in the proper quantities will do, [a] tidal ebb and flow, setting me adrift from all reality except sensation. In short, Che was a wonderfully heart-stopping f---. My earlier fatigue melted away. I closed my eyes and gave myself up to his strength and agility. We orgasmed simultaneously more than once. I can't remember the delirious words either of us spoke. I closed my eyes in ecstasy."

The way Van Doren tells it, she and Guevara didn't get much sleep, and had to be dragged out of bed the following day. Van Doren got Aumont to cover for her on set ("'You naughty girl! You're not under the weather, you're under the Guevara,'" she remembers him joking). But the crisis in Congo would not wait for Che.

"'When I'm done in the Congo, I will go back to Bolivia. Would you like to come visit me? Bolivia is a beautiful country,'" Van Doren syas Guevara asked her. "It was an invitation I did not expect. I opened my mouth to speak, but nothing came out. The prospect immediately appealed to my sense of adventure."

Something just wouldn't let her say yes.

Guevara described "'an encampment in a remote area of the rainforest,'" complete with jaguars and exotic flowers and flowing champagne. Still, "Warning bells were clanging in my head. But an adventure conjoined with a lover, whether breaking studio rules with Tony Curtis or tracking down John Dillinger in the person of Lawrence Tierney, never failed to activate a reckless tingle in me."

It was a call from her young son, Perry, that jolted her back to reality. "I have a young son who needs me, Che. I also have a career with movies lined up to do. Infatuated as I am with you, I couldn't risk my life because I'd be risking my son's too." In characteristically flamboyant style, Van Doren rejected Guevara's appeal that her visit could be brief. "I went to him and kissed his cheek. 'Revolution is temporary. A bullet is forever.'"

Despite their deep history, this connection is much more recent.

“RFK’s granddaughter Michaela Kennedy-Cuomo was even linked to Alex Ogilvy, the grandson of Queen Elizabeth’s cousin Princess Alexandra, when they were both attending Brown University," Hallemann writes.

"While the relationship didn’t last, it was, perhaps, the closest America’s royal family has been to being related by marriage to the British one."

Not only is Michaela Kennedy-Cuomo connected to the Kennedy political dynasty as Robert F. Kennedy's granddaughter and the daughter of Kerry Kennedy, her grandfather is Mario Cuomo, the former governor of New York from 1983 to 1995. Her father Andrew Cuomo held the same position as well from 2011 until he resigned in 2021.

According to PEOPLE, he is far down in the line of succession placing 60th, and likely wouldn't serve as monarch.

Though their reported relationship didn't last, it's worth noting that the Kennedy family has a "long-standing association with Hollywood and its nostalgic glamour," says Hallemann, making for other notable connections.

Erika Henningsen is breaking down Ginny's journey in season 2 of Netflix's The Four Seasons

The actress tells PEOPLE that she related to her character's initial need to "look to other people to affirm that I'm doing it right"

Erika Henningsen is marking a new season for Ginny.

The Four Seasons star, 33, caught up with PEOPLE about the second season of the Netflix comedy and reprising her role as Ginny, the grieving new mom who grapples with complicated friendship dynamics and accepting change after the death of her boyfriend Nick (Steve Carell).

Season 2 follows Ginny both during her pregnancy and later embracing motherhood after welcoming her and Nick's son, Gino (formerly Cove). While she initially leans heavily on Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver) to keep her on track as a new mom, Ginny eventually comes to terms with the fact that she can raise her newborn herself.

"Similar to Ginny, I always look to other people to affirm that I'm doing it right," Henningsen says of her character. "It's really hard for me to trust my own instinct, be it as an actor, I constantly text [costar] Marco [Calvani] after a take and write, 'Oh, do you think that was good?' So I'm very much an outside seeker of affirmation."

One scene in particular really helped Henningsen connect with the character, she says, pointing to a moment when Ginny takes baby Gino to the ocean and reminds him that she's his mom. "Sometimes you can not know what you're doing and keep walking forward, and you don't have to keep looking to the left and right for other people to affirm that it's going well," Henningsen says. "If I become a mom, I hope I can take that lesson."

She adds, "But I think that lesson is applicable to anything you are trying to create and bring into the world."

Henningsen stars in The Four Seasons alongside Calvani, Kenney-Silver, Tina Fey, Will Forte and Colman Domingo, with Carell making a second-season appearance in a flashback episode. While Carell's appearance in the latest iteration of The Four Seasons only takes place in flashback form, Forte — who also spoke with PEOPLE about season 2 — says his return to set was "pure joy." "It wasn't until I saw the episode that I was really kind of experienced that emotion, because he still feels present in our lives because, yeah, he's still around," Forte says. "But, God, the way they throw to that episode, to that flashback episode is so well done and so like, 'Wait, what the heck is going on here?'"

He adds, "And then the very end of the next episode, after you've seen the flashback and you're back there in the house alone, oh, that was crushing."

As Henningsen notes, her "favorite things about coming back" this season was spending some more time with the ensemble cast. "We love our jobs, we love these scripts. It is a joy to bring these characters to life. It is equally fun for when they call cut and we get to just goof around before the next setup," Henningsen says.

Season 2, which follows the friend group after Nick's shocking first-season death, doesn't just explore the immediate aftermath of the loss. It also focuses on the characters as they rebuild and "really decide to do something" with their lives moving forward, Henningsen explains.

"They take these massive swings because that's what happens when somebody passes away. And it was so fun to watch this cast and how the characters deepened when they make those choices," Henningsen says. "That was just so thrilling to watch what it's like when Claude goes to Italy, to watch what Anne 2.0 is. It was one of my favorite things, getting to be with this cast, but to also watch everybody take their characters to the next level, because that's what was being asked of us."

Henningsen reflected on the new season in an Instagram post on Tuesday, June 2, thanking "all the brave moms and dads who let me hold their babies," as well as the show's "incredible wardrobe team for giving me lactation-worthy fake🍈🍈, our PAs who are the most fun/patient and kept track of us while we ran around the Jersey Shore boardwalk, and our superstar directors/EPs Jeff Richmond and Tracey Wigfield."

"Oh, and thanks to that one prop baby delivered to me in a plastic bag. You'd CLEARLY been through it," she joked.

The Four Seasons is now streaming on Netflix.

- Neverland Ranch was purchased by Jackson in 1988 and doubled as his home and private theme park.

- Jackson abandoned the home after his 2005 acquittal, and it sold to Ron Burkle in 2020.

In 2003, Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch was raided by police. Netflix's new documentary *Michael Jackson: The Verdict* opens with shocking footage of that incident.

The docuseries, which arrives just over a month after the release of Jackson biopic *Michael,* puts Jackson’s infamous molestation trial back in the spotlight. It centers on the case against the world-renowned pop legend and his subsequent trial in 2005, including the media blitz surrounding the case and the circumstances that led to his acquittal.

One question left lingering after the three-part series is: What became of Jackson's infamous Neverland Ranch?

Per the *New York Times**, *Neverland Ranch was Jackson’s 2,700-acre property in Los Olivos, Calif., that doubled as an amusement park. The singer resided there for almost 20 years, but he never returned after his trial.

Below, we take a look at what happened to Neverland Ranch after Jackson left it. Who bought it? And does it appear in *Michael*?

What was Neverland Ranch?

Neverland Ranch was Jackson’s home and private theme park for 17 years, and where he would entertain adults and children whom he invited to the ranch. The house itself was 13,000 square feet.

The property, originally known as Sycamore Valley Ranch, was built in 1981 by real estate developer William Bone. After purchasing the property in 1988 for a cool $19.5 million, Jackson renamed it the Neverland Ranch, after the magical island in *Peter Pan* where boys never grow up.

He added excessive amenities to his home, like a zoo with elephants and tigers, a train station, a 50-seat movie theater, and amusement park rides with a Ferris wheel that reportedly cost $215,000 when he bought it in 1990.

Jackson would invite hundreds of children to come play at his ranch, particularly ill and underprivileged kids. But the home was as much a playground for them as it was for Jackson, who had a notoriously difficult upbringing under the thumb of his father, Joe Jackson.

His sister, La Toya Jackson, wrote in her 2011 memoir *Starting Over* that the ranch "was a living fairy tale, which Michael created to finally have a normal childhood and life for himself."

Jackson’s children, Paris and Prince, spent a portion of their childhoods living in seclusion at the ranch to protect them from the media and paparazzi.

While parents happily brought their own children to Neverland Ranch for years, the property and its many kid-friendly accoutrements were viewed very differently after the molestation allegations surfaced.

The ranch was raided in 2003,* *and Jackson was subsequently charged on 10 criminal counts, including child molestation. His legal team called the claims "a big lie" and maintain his innocence to this day.

Did Jackson live at Neverland Ranch after the trial?

Jackson did not live at the ranch following his 2005 acquittal. He traveled the world and ultimately settled in a sprawling estate in Los Angeles that reportedly cost $100,000 per month, according to the *New York Post*.

The French château would be Jackson’s final home; he spent the last six months of his life there before passing away on June 25, 2009.

Regarding Neverland Ranch, Jackson's eldest son Prince told a civil court jury in 2013, “I guess they ruined it for my dad.”

What happened to Neverland Ranch after Jackson’s death?

One year prior to his death, *The New York Times** *reported that Jackson had transferred ownership of the ranch to Sycamore Valley Ranch Company, a joint venture between Jackson and real estate investment company Colony Capital.

Jackson defaulted on a $24.5 million mortgage in May 2008 to avoid having the ranch go to auction, after which Colony Capital purchased his debt. It was believed that the ranch had “fallen into disrepair.”

When the home was first set to be put on the market in 2014, *Forbes* reported that Colony Capital may have put as much as $50 million into updating the property, including ridding it of many of its child-friendly features.

Then, in 2017, the Associated Press shared that the ranch had been devalued from $100 million to $67 million. The property had also reverted to its old name, Sycamore Valley Ranch.

After years on the market, the home finally sold in 2020.

Who owns Neverland Ranch now?

Ultimately, Neverland Ranch was purchased by Jackson’s former financial advisor, investment billionaire Ron Burkle, for a reported $22 million.

Per the *Wall Street Journal**,* Burkle saw the investment as a “land banking opportunity,” although as of the 2020 purchase, there has been no significant news or updates related to the ranch.

Is Neverland Ranch featured in Michael?

While *SF Gate* reported in June 2024 that a film shoot was scheduled to take place at the former Neverland Ranch, it was conspicuously absent from *Michael* when it hit theaters on April 24.

*SF Gate* followed up in May, revealing that the film had intended to use the ranch as a pivotal set piece — and would even open with the 2003 raid. However, a civil lawsuit from the ‘90s prevented that from happening.

Jordan Chandler, one of Jackson's alleged victims, and his family reached a reported $23 million settlement in 1994. A clause in that settlement stipulated that the case could not be featured in any adaptation of Jackson's life. As detailed in a *New Yorker* profile of director Antoine Fuqua, the scenes at the ranch had already been shot when the creative team was informed that they were legally forbidden from depicting Chandler's allegations.

Fuqua thus had to retool his entire movie, which had significantly focused on Jackson’s allegations prior to the shakeup.
