- YouTuber Jesse Ridgway says he and wife Ashley have been receiving death threats after they announced they ended her pregnancy due to Down syndrome.

- Although he expected some "flak" for their decision, "to see what it's become has been pretty shocking," Ridgway added.

- Ridgway has 4.34 million subscribers on his YouTube channel.

Jesse Ridgway has always shared his life with his millions of followers, but his latest revelation has polarized his audience — and even brought on death threats.

Back on March 29, the YouTuber and his wife Ashley announced they were expecting their first baby. Two months later, the couple filmed themselves receiving the results of an amniocentesis, which tests for genetic abnormalities and chromosomal conditions. The news was devastating: their unborn child carried Trisomy 21, otherwise known as Down syndrome.

On Wednesday, the Ridgways revealed they had made the "very difficult decision" to terminate the pregnancy.

“I know some of you may be very disappointed to hear this news," Jesse wrote in since-expired Instagram Story. "We are devastated. This has been extremely traumatic for both of us, especially Ashley. She underwent the procedure earlier this week and is on the mend. Thankfully, everything went smoothly, but emotionally we are drained."

Jesse, who has been a YouTube content creator for nearly 20 years, anticipated "some level of, like, flak or differing opinions," he told the *Los Angeles Times*, "but to see what it’s become has been pretty shocking… There are a million abortions every year, and I’m just shocked that one couple deciding to abort for Trisomy 21 is mainstream news."

Among the DMs extending support for the couple, Jesse said that he and Ashley have also received a "tremendous amount of death threats. People saying we're murderers."

The online attacks have also carried over into the comments section of both Jesse and Ashley's Instagram accounts, as well as Jesse's YouTube channel, McJuggerNuggets, which has 4.34 million subscribers.

Despite the backlash, Jesse hopes their openness can benefit others dealing with a similar situation.

"There are so many people out there like us dealing with these things, and nobody's talking about it," he told the *Times*. "I think if we share this, it will have a net positive for other people, and they can feel more comfortable and less shame confronting these things… I hope other people can see that, that there is some value in this, but I can't push it any more than I have. People are going to cast their judgments."

PRISTINA, Kosovo (AP) — Kosovo will hold its third parliamentary election in 18 months this weekend as frustration grows over a continued political impasse in the small Balkan country that is aspiring to move closer to the European Union and NATO.

The early parliamentary vote on Sunday was scheduled after Kosovo's main political parties failed to agree on who should replace former President Vjosa Osmani, whose mandate ended in late March.

Prime Minister Albin Kurti's center-left Vetevendosje party has held a clear parliamentary majority since the early election in December. But the president in Kosovo is appointed by at least 80 lawmakers in the 120-member Parliament, a majority that neither Kurti nor the opposition could muster.

While the key players blamed each other for the crisis, their inability to reach a compromise has fueled disappointment among Kosovo's around 2 million voters, who want the government to focus on the economy and living standards instead.

Vlora Kryeziu, a businessperson from the capital Pristina, laments that "the same scenario is being repeated."

"We will for sure have the same result," Kryeziu, 52, said. "As a citizen, I have a lot of dissatisfaction, and I think that we as a society are not doing enough to change these things."

The first inconclusive election in February 2025 left the country without a functioning government for much of last year, forcing a second election in December.

Kosovo is among the youngest and poorest countries in Europe. The predominantly ethnic Albanian nation declared independence from Serbia in 2008 following a 1998-99 war that ended in a NATO bombing that forced Serbia to withdraw.

Kosovo has been recognized by the United States and most EU countries but not by Serbia and its allies Russia and China. Pristina and Belgrade have been told they must mend relations to move forward with their EU membership bids.

European Council President Antonio Costa this week urged Kosovo to end the political stalemate and unite over the goal of EU integration.

"The European Union can support Kosovo, but it cannot do Kosovo's own homework," he said in Pristina. "Kosovo needs strong, stable and functioning institutions capable of delivering reforms and seizing the opportunities the European Union offers."

Prime Minister Albin Kurti has urged voters to give him another chance at Sunday's ballot. He accused the opposition parties of creating an "artificial crisis" and forcing repeated elections despite "the strong and clear will of the people."

Two opposition parties, the Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Democratic League of Kosovo, in turn have accused Kurti of seeking to impose complete control over all political institutions in the country.

Ex-president Osmani is now running on the LDK party list against Kurti, her former ally, after he refused to back her for a second term in office.

Political analyst Artan Muhaxhiri still does not expect a "tectonic change" compared to the previous election, when Kurti's party won more than 50% of votes.

The political deadlock will also resume, Muhaxhiri predicted as "there are no indications that political leaders are willing to change their actual stances and narrow the existing gap."

The prolonged crisis already has affected Kosovo's economy that has been hit hard with the global energy crisis and rising fuel prices. The institutional vacuum also has delayed access to the EU and other international funds available for the country.

Every headline this week wants you to buy Zillow Group (NASDAQ:Z) on the back of an earnings beat and a fresh AI-platform pitch from CEO Jeremy Wacksman. But here is what you should actually be watching.

Zillow is a leveraged bet on a housing market that the company itself, in its own forward guidance, describes as "planning for the macro housing environment to continue to bounce along the bottom of the cycle". That setup reads as a value trap dressed in an AI costume, not a retirement-portfolio anchor.

The Z Beat Is Hiding Real Damage

Yes, Q1 EPS of $0.53 topped the $0.46 estimate, and revenue of $708 million grew 18.39%. Look under the hood. Traffic to Zillow apps and sites declined 3% year over year to 220 million average monthly users. Gross margin compressed 350 basis points. Incremental legal spend on the FTC trial expected in the first half of 2026 is dragging Adjusted EBITDA margins by 160 basis points. Industry purchase mortgage origination volume is down approximately 1% year over year.

The market has already cast a vote. Shares trade at $35, down 48.7% year to date and 47.34% over the last year, with a trailing P/E of 140. Paying that multiple for a transaction-dependent platform staring at elevated mortgage rates, historically low existing-home inventory, and a housing market that remains thoroughly locked up qualifies as wishful thinking.

The Quiet Beneficiary: Caterpillar

A more durable alternative sits with Caterpillar (NYSE:CAT), the unsexy infrastructure giant that just printed $17.415 billion in Q1 revenue, up 22.2%, with EPS of $5.54 against a $4.6439 estimate. Three reasons stand out.

1. Caterpillar is an AI data center play. The Power Generation product line, large reciprocating engines and turbines feeding hyperscaler buildouts, hit $2.817 billion in Q1, up 41% year over year. Jim Cramer put it bluntly in April: "CAT represents infrastructure money, construction money and data center money." Picks and shovels for the AI capex cycle, without the 60x semiconductor multiples.

Act now: the analyst who called NVIDIA in 2010 just named his top 10 AI stocks — and Caterpillar didn't make the cut. Grab the names FREE today.

2. A record backlog the housing cycle cannot touch. Construction Industries revenue rose 38% to $7.161 billion with segment margin expanding 1.6 points to 21.4%. North America revenue jumped 32%. CEO Joe Creed said "A record backlog provides a strong foundation for continued positive momentum." That backlog is fed by long-term legislative funding bills like the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and global reshoring trends, sources insulated from 30-year mortgage rates.

3. A cash machine returning real money. In Q1 alone, Caterpillar deployed $5.028 billion on share repurchases and roughly $0.7 billion on dividends. Operating cash flow rose 45.1% to $1.870 billion. The stock is up 53.55% year to date and 151.68% over the past year, yet the forward earnings multiple sits at 38x with an analyst target of $920.14.

The tariff line is real. Q1 Resource Industries segment profit fell 39% on 7 points of margin compression from tariff-driven manufacturing costs. Caterpillar beat through it anyway. Zillow has no such cushion.

The retirement-focused investor does not need another lottery ticket on a housing rebound that management is openly disavowing. For investors weighing the two, the yellow machines powering data centers, highways, and reshored factories look better positioned than the headline-chasing Zillow narrative.

Stevie Nicks is paying tribute to her longtime doctor with a massive donation to USC's School of Medicine.

The legendary singer-songwriter made a sizable donation to the Keck School of Medicine's head and neck surgery department to honor Dr. Joseph Sugerman, her ear, nose and throat specialist (ENT) of many years.

Nicks' donation completed the institution's $3 million donation goal for its endowed chair — the highest honor bestowed upon a faculty member, often funded through philanthropy — which will support the medical school's further work and research, per its announcement on Thursday, June 4.

"Through late nights on the road, years of touring, hours in the recording studio, I always knew I could count on Dr. Sugerman to be there to help keep my voice healthy, just as he does for his other patients," Nicks, 78, said in a statement. "I am thrilled to have this opportunity to acknowledge his talent and insights and mark his many years of outstanding practice."

The endowed chair will be named after both Nicks and Sugerman, and aims to pay tribute to the doctor's "extraordinary impact on patients, trainees, and the field of otolaryngology."

Nicks first connected with USC in 1979, when Fleetwood Mac invited the school's marching band to record "Tusk" at Dodger Stadium.

"I am touched and humbled by the support of my patients who have extended themselves to create this endowed chair, which will be dedicated to advancing vocal medicine," Sugerman said in the announcement.

The chair's first honoree is Dr. Michael M. Johns, the director of the USC Voice Center and a "world-class expert" in voice care. The Keck School of Medicine also shared the good news in a post on Instagram, which its community celebrated for its progress.

"THIS is how research gets done and how more patients get helped," one user wrote.

JERUSALEM/WASHINGTON, June 5 (Reuters) - Benjamin Netanyahu has long portrayed himself to the Israeli public as being uniquely adept in dealing with Donald Trump, capable of winning and sustaining the U.S. president's backing.

But an acrimonious phone call this week where the president called the prime minister "fucking crazy", first leaked to the media and later publicly confirmed by Trump himself, laid bare the strains that have at times ‌emerged between the two leaders.

Israeli officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, acknowledged the call was among the most heated the premier has had with Trump. One of the officials said the leak had damaged Netanyahu politically ahead of this year's national election.

The U.S. website Axios ‌broke news of the call on Monday, saying Trump had angrily confronted Netanyahu over Israeli threats to resume air strikes on Beirut's southern suburbs. "Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this," Trump was quoted as saying.

The U.S. president told Netanyahu not to target Beirut after Iran had warned that Israeli strikes in Lebanon were undermining talks to end the war, which began with joint U.S.-Israeli attacks and which is deeply unpopular among Americans.

US-ISRAEL DIFFERENCES 'NOW VERY PUBLIC', SAYS THINK-TANK HEAD

A senior Israeli official told Reuters that Netanyahu had made clear to Trump that any pause in Israeli plans to strike Beirut would only work if Hezbollah stopped hitting northern Israel. Trump was receptive to this position, the official said.

Following their call, Trump said Israel and Hezbollah had agreed to stop shooting each other, prompting accusations by Netanyahu's political opponents, and some within his own government, that he had ceded Israel's sovereignty to the U.S.

"A total protectorate," said opposition leader Yair Lapid, suggesting Netanyahu had put Israel in the position of an American client state.

Netanyahu, Israel's longest serving prime minister, has repeatedly clashed with Republican and Democratic administrations. Yet, Israel has remained Washington's closest Middle East ally.

Nimrod Goren, the president of Mitvim, an Israeli think tank, said "the differences are now very public", unlike in the past when they were usually quietly managed behind closed doors.

Trump told the New York ‌Post on Wednesday that he was "a little bit perturbed" by Netanyahu constantly attacking Lebanon, but added: "We've worked ⁠very well together."

Trump's decision to join Israel in striking Iran, not once but twice in the space of a year, appeared to mark a major victory for Netanyahu, who had spent decades urging Washington to use its military power to halt Tehran's nuclear programme.

But Trump has also taken a series of steps that many in Israel have viewed as cutting against the country's interests, including ending U.S. strikes on Yemen's Iran-backed Houthis, lifting sanctions on Syria's President Ahmed al-Sharaa, and ordering ⁠a halt to Israel's 12-day war with Iran in June 2025.

ISRAEL NOT DIRECTLY INVOLVED IN US-IRAN PEACE TALKS

And while the United States and Israel jointly launched the campaign against Iran in February, Israel has not been directly involved in the U.S.-Iran talks to end the war. Those negotiations have been conducted through Pakistan, a rare intermediary that has no formal diplomatic ties with Israel.

The wars with Iran and Hezbollah have been widely popular in Israel, including among supporters of Netanyahu's political rivals, and much of the public wants the fighting to continue.

That stands in contrast to the U.S., where many voters —including members of Trump's conservative base — oppose the war.

Trump has repeatedly said that the U.S. was close to an agreement with Iran on ending the war. Tehran insists any deal include Israel halting attacks on its ally Hezbollah in Lebanon.

"We are basically being forced to stop," said Israeli pollster Mitchell Barak. "We don't have a say in this anymore."

At the start of this year's war with ‌Iran, Netanyahu said that the Iranian government would be toppled, and its nuclear and missile programs destroyed. He has also said that Hezbollah, which attacked Israel in March in support of Iran, must be disarmed in southern Lebanon. So far, none of these goals have been achieved.

Recent domestic polls have repeatedly shown that Netanyahu's coalition government, the most right-wing in the country's history, would fail to win a majority at the next election.

Netanyahu, Goren said, was working to accommodate Trump's demands because the Israeli premier will need the president's support closer to the elections, including a possible visit by the U.S. leader to Israel. Before the war with Iran, Trump was widely expected in Israel to visit in April to be awarded the state's highest civilian honour. He last visited in October.

NOTION OF TRUMP-NETANYAHU RIFT OVERSTATED, EX-ADVISER SAYS

But some Israelis were not comfortable with the extent that Trump appears able to influence Israeli military decisions, Goren said. In contrast, in the U.S., some Trump critics say that Netanyahu has outsized influence on U.S. foreign policy.

Itamar Ben-Gvir, Netanyahu's national security minister said on Thursday that there are times when an Israeli leader must know how to say "no" even to the U.S. president.

Nadav Shtrauchler, a former Netanyahu adviser, said the Israeli ‌premier was counting on Trump's support in the election.

"The way the war (with Iran and Hezbollah) will end will affect, more than anything, the result of the election."

Trump has often lavished public praise on Netanyahu and has publicly lobbied Israel's president to pardon the prime minister, who is on trial in Israel on corruption-related charges.

But Trump has also publicly emphasized how much, he says, Israel needs Washington, and has used expletives in the past when talking about Israel, including publicly saying last year that Israel and Iran "don't know what the fuck they are doing."

For his part, Netanyahu describes Trump as "the greatest friend Israel has ever had in the White House", offering the kind of public praise that resonates with the Republican president, who is ‌known to prize personal loyalty and validation.

Since the U.S. and Israel opened the war with Iran, Netanyahu has at times said that he speaks with Trump almost daily, often characterizing their relationship to the Israeli public as one between peers who make decisions together.

Asked about the call in an interview with CNBC on Wednesday, Netanyahu said that like in the "best of families" there at times had been "tactical disagreements" with the U.S. president.

A U.S. official told Reuters the phone call was one of several in which the president has been very direct with Netanyahu but that the two remain friends and close allies.

"Their conversations are pretty direct," the official said.

The official, and another Israeli source briefed on the U.S.-Israel relationship, dismissed any suggestion of a material change in the relationship between Netanyahu and Trump.

However, the Israeli source acknowledged that the leak of the call - and Trump's ‌subsequent confirmation of it - was not helpful to Netanyahu ahead of an election that he is polling to lose.

Shtrauchler, the former adviser to  Netanyahu, said the perception of a rift with Trump was overstated and that the two leaders still appeared to remain aligned on most major issues.

But an abrupt end to the wars with Iran and Hezbollah, however, would pose a "huge problem": for Netanyahu, he said, as many Israelis would see it as Trump having forced his hand.

"No one wants here to feel like we are another star on the (U.S.) flag.  We want to feel independence," Shtrauchler said.
