Nick Jonas recalled a meeting for a "big movie" that went awry because of something he said.

The actor and singer revealed that he "screwed up" his conversation with a director by asking a question he regrets.

He later called his friend who ended up in the film to lament his mishap.

Nick Jonas' face was probably burnin' up after a very important meeting went very, very wrong.

The actor and singer revealed that he once "screwed up" his conversation with a director by asking one simple question he regrets.

"So I met with a director for this big movie — I'm not gonna say what movie it is, and people can guess in the comments or wherever," Nick said on the latest episode of Hey Jonas, his podcast with brothers Joe and Kevin.

Joe and Kevin immediately jumped in to joke that the movie was either Mel Gibson's 2004 film The Passion of the Christ or its upcoming 2027 sequels, The Resurrection of the Christ: Part One and Part Two. After shutting their theories down, Nick made a second attempt at telling his story.

"I auditioned for this big movie, and I didn't really realize that it was a director meeting," he said. "The director also produces, as most do, and so I went into the meeting and started talking about the film and what the take was gonna be, and this, that, and the other."

Nick explained that he thought the Hollywood creative was "just producing the film" and wasn't aware he was pulling double duty and serving as its director, too.

"I asked him, 'Oh, and who's directing?' And his response was, 'Well, me.' It was like, 'Oh,'" he recalled. "I wanted to die inside at that moment. I did die inside."

While he didn't land the role, Nick said one of the brothers' "very good friends" ended up starring in the film. "I called him after the meeting and said, 'I think I screwed up. I asked the director who's directing the movie,'" Nick remembered. "He said, 'Yeah, that's tough, man.'"

Joe sympathized with his younger brother. "That's a tough one to come back from, that one," he said, to which Nick replied, "It's okay. Things happen."

Nick did not share any details about the film, its director, or the pal who starred in the project, but the brothers' friend circle includes stars like Glen Powell, who previously worked with Nick on the show Scream Queens and with Joe in the 2022 war film Devotion.

In February, Nick and Glen's friendship made headlines when the "Gut Punch" singer revealed that he found the Top Gun: Maverick actor's plane ticket in the pocket of a pair of jeans he was set to wear for a performance on The Tonight Show.

"When he pulled that ticket out of his pants, he was like, 'Do you mind if I, like, post this?' I was like, 'That is so random. Yes!'" Powell told Entertainment Tonight at the time. "The Brotherhood of the Traveling Pants — we need to make it something. I don't know, I loved it."

Watch Nick discuss his awkward director meeting in the clip above.

May 28 (Reuters) - The U.S. Embassy in Kyiv remains open, it said on Thursday, denying reports about changes to its operations following ‌warnings from Russia that diplomats and foreigners should leave the Ukrainian ‌capital before it escalated attacks.

Some Ukrainian media on Thursday cited remarks by European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas that the U.S. embassy had left the capital.

Kallas told reporters on the sidelines of an EU meeting in Cyprus that all the foreign embassies in Kyiv had shrugged off the threat of attacks by Moscow, ‌except one.

"What we heard from Ukraine yesterday was that all the embassies stayed except one," Kallas said on Thursday. "All the Europeans stayed. America left."

Several EU states summoned their Russian ambassadors after Moscow issued its warning to foreigners to leave on Monday.

In a post on X, the U.S. embassy in Kyiv said there had been no changes to its operations.

"The U.S. Embassy is open. There are ‌no changes to our operations and reports otherwise are false," it said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's communications adviser, Dmytro Lytvyn, told reporters that Ukraine had heard that some American diplomats had left Kyiv at the time of the latest massive Russian strike on Sunday.

He added that Ukraine was grateful to all the ‌embassies that work in Kyiv and support Ukraine.

A representative of the U.S. embassy in Kyiv declined to comment on Lytvyn's remarks.

The acting U.S. ambassador to Kyiv, Julie Davis, was ‌in Lviv for an event at the weekend, according to the embassy's social media post.

"The State Department has no higher priority than the safety and security of Americans and regularly reviews the security posture of Embassy Kyiv," ‌the embassy said in its post on X.

The NFL offseason is in full swing. Every team can dream of having a big campaign and going on the postseason and winning the Super Bowl ... for now.

Reality will set in when training camp starts and certain franchises will see that they face a monumental task to play .500 football, let alone keep playing after the 17-game regular season ends.

There are some teams that feel like locks to gain the playoffs and try to win the Super Bowl. Then, there are others where it isn't exactly a stretch to say they will be going home after the 18th week of the regular season.

What teams won't be making the playoffs?

New York Jets

Geno Smith.

This should come as no surprise, especially with the Jets banking on Geno Smith at quarterback. Could he be the first starter to be in charge of an offense for different teams that wind up with the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL draft in back-to-back seasons?

Miami Dolphins

Valtteri Bottas of Finland and Cadillac F1 Team poses for a photo with Miami Dolphins players during previews ahead of the F1 Grand Prix of Miami.

It would take much more than a Miami Miracle for the Dolphins to compete with the Patriots and Bills. And there will not be three playoff teams coming out of the AFC East.

Cleveland Browns

Next.

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Aaron Rodgers retirement tour will last 17 games, 18 weeks and not more than that.

Tennessee Titans

All Titans fans can hope for is that Cam Ward improves off his rookie season. However, expecting a massive jump is unrealistic. Winning six games or so would be an accomplishment. Robert Saleh-Brian Daboll exacta is worrisome.

Indianapolis Colts

Were the Colts under Daniel Jones the real Indy team or the one that fell apart when their quarterback was injured. Will go along with somewhere in the middle but they aren't going to top the Jaguars and Texans.

Las Vegas Raiders

Fernando Mendoza needs to survive his rookie season. The Raiders need to protect the No. 1 overall pick and hope to somewhat improve. They aren't about to gain the playoffs after last season's debacle.

New York Giants

Jaxson Dart is the media darling and finds his way into headlines everywhere. He's not going to take this team to the playoffs the way it is structured. John Harbaugh has a big task remodeling a crumbled Big Blue franchise.

Dallas Cowboys

Time for everyone in Cowboys Nation to start yelping. Sorry, this is the same team, next year and it isn't going to improve enough to threaten for a playoff spot.

Minnesota Vikings

Kyler Murray of the Minnesota Vikings participates in a drill during an OTA workout at Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center on May 27, 2026 in Eagan, Minnesota.

The Vikings will continue to pay the price for letting Sam Darnold go after drafting JJ McCarthy. Kyler Murray doesn't exactly bring a playoff resume with him.

New Orleans Saints

The Saints should get better but being better than average is not good enough to play in the postseason.

Atlanta Falcons

Tua Tagovailoa #1 of the Atlanta Falcons runs through drills during OTA's at IBM Performance Field on May 27, 2026 in Flowery Branch, Georgia.

The Falcons have gone from Kirk Cousins to Tua Tagovailoa in the QB room with Michael Penix Jr. Will they learn?

Arizona Cardinals

Get serious.

Max Homa is changing caddies again.

The six-time PGA Tour winner split with veteran caddie Lance Bennett following a missed cut at the PGA Championship. Homa is expected to have Peter Pappageorge, a friend who registered as his caddie on Wednesday, on the bag this week at the Charles Schwab Challenge, the PGA Tour stop at Fort Worth, Texas.

Max Homa and caddie Lance Bennett look on from the 13th tee during the first round of the 2025 John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run.

Bennett, who caddied for Tiger Woods in 2024 before he was sidelined by injury, joined Homa nearly a year ago at the RBC Canadian Open after Homa parted ways with Bill Harke. Prior to that, Homa had a decade-long partnership with Joe Greiner, one of his childhood best friends. [They remain close to this day.] Greiner got a win last year at the RBC Heritage, filling in for Justin Thomas, bounced from doing a short stint with Collin Morikawa to settling in this season with Akshay Bhatia, who won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March.

Bennett had been on the bag for Michael Thorbjornsen prior to Homa, before Thorbjornsen hired J.J. Jakovac. Bennett has caddied in the past for Matt Kuchar, Sungjae Im and Davis Riley, among others, as well as on the LPGA Tour.

Homa, 35, enters the week No. 74 in the FedEx Cup standings. He’s made nine cuts in 13 starts this season, including one top 10 at the Masters. Homa, who ascended as high as No. 5 in the Official World Golf Ranking, enters the week at No. 123.

Warning: This post contains spoilers for The Boroughs.

Geena Davis performs a daring car stunt in Netflix's The Boroughs reminiscent of her iconic Thelma & Louise scene

The Boroughs, produced by Stranger Things creators, follows retirees battling an unseen threat in their mysterious community

Davis highlights her character’s deep friendship with Denis O’Hare’s Wally as a key emotional element of the show

Geena Davis is going over the edge of a cliff in a car once again — but this time, things end very differently than they did in 1991's Thelma & Louise.

While speaking to PEOPLE about her new Netflix sci-fi series The Boroughs, Davis, 70, opened up about filming the show’s intense cliffside stunt sequence.

“I mean, that was so fun to shoot actually. There were stunt people helping us do it and jumping off the ground,” Davis shares.

In the scene, Davis’ character Renee narrowly avoids death by jumping out of a car that is headed off a cliff and straight into the desert. This time, it wasn’t her and Susan Sarandon behind the wheel, but rather an inexplicable enemy.

In the scene, her character Renee jumps out of the car and into the arms of Carlos Miranda’s character, Paz.

“We really did that catch. Or Carlos did. It was a blast,” Davis shares.

The Boroughs is a new sci-fi show produced by Stranger Thingsco-creators The Duffer Brothers.

In addition to Davis, the show stars Alfred Molina, Denis O’Hare, Clarke Peters, Alfre Woodard and Bill Pullman as retirees in a community called The Boroughs where everything is not as it seems, and their lives are threatened by an entity that they cannot see. The group of unlikely heroes team up to get to the bottom of what is hunting them at night.

Similar to Thelma & Louise, in the show Davis’ character has her own partner in crime, per se, Wally, played by O’Hare.

In the show, Wally and Renee have a great relationship, and during a key moment for Wally’s character, he takes her advice to heart. The moment, Davis shares, “proves that they are really true, deep friends.”

“Because there's a lot of goofy, superficial stuff that happens or just being funny or laughing at a funeral or whatever. But they really have bonded, I mean, for him to take that advice when he really had gone there, it speaks to their connection,” Davis shares.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Vegas Golden Knights hope to make a highly unlikely return to the Stanley Cup Final when they go for the sweep of the Presidents' Trophy-winning Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday night.

Should they win, this would be the Golden Knights' third trip to the Cup final in their nine seasons, and they would face Carolina or Montreal.

It’s not quite the Cinderella story of the Golden Knights’ first team that made the Stanley Cup Final in 2018 before losing in five games to Washington, but Vegas’ journey to this point was far from expected.

The Golden Knights faced the possibility of not making the playoffs for just the second time in franchise history when management fired coach Bruce Cassidy, who led the club to the 2023 title, with eight games left in the regular season.

In came John Tortorella, who validated the controversial decision by leading Vegas to a 7-0-1 record to close the regular season and then series victories over Utah and Anaheim. Then the Golden Knights faced an Avalanche team that rolled through the regular season before going 8-1 in the first two rounds of the playoffs.

The odds favored the Avalanche to be the team to come out of the West, but history did not. Chicago in 2013 was the last team to claim the Presidents' Trophy and the Stanley Cup in the same season.

Colorado coach Jared Bednar searched for answers against the Golden Knights, even changing goalies on Tuesday, going with Mackenzie Blackwood over Scott Wedgewood. The Avalanche also dealt with injuries to their top two players this series — reigning Norris Trophy winner Cale Makar and Hart Trophy finalist Nathan MacKinnon.

The Golden Knights had their own injury issues, winning the first two games of the series without captain Mark Stone.
