CLEVELAND -- Jalen Brunson scored 30 points and Mikal Bridges added 22 as the New York Knicks never trailed in a 121-108 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals Saturday night, taking a commanding 3-0 lead in the series.

The third-seeded Knicks have won a franchise-record 10 straight playoff games -- by an average margin of 22.5 points -- and are one win away from their first NBA Finals appearance since 1999. Game 4 is Monday in Cleveland.

Karl-Anthony Towns collected 13 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for New York, which also received 21 points from OG Anunoby. Josh Hart had 12 points, nine rebounds and a playoff career-high tying four steals.

Evan Mobley scored 24 points, Donovan Mitchell had 23 and James Harden added 19 for the fourth-seeded Cavaliers, who appeared fatigued for the second game in a row after playing every other day since April 29. All three players also committed at least five turnovers.

Cleveland needed the full seven games to beat the Toronto Raptors in the first round and the Detroit Pistons in the East semifinals. No NBA team has overcome a 3-0 deficit in any playoff series.

Brunson took over in the third with 12 points, pushing New York out to its largest lead at 83-70. Landry Shamet buried three 3-pointers in a 99-second span early in the fourth and Anunoby delivered the dagger with a 3-pointer that made it 110-93 with 5:30 to go.

The Cavaliers forged their first of two ties at 48-48 on a Harden layup in the second, but the Knicks held a 60-54 advantage at the half. Anunoby scored 13 points in 15 minutes while Harden had 14 points and Mitchell and Jarrett Allen each had 12.

Bridges had four points in the first two minutes as New York jumped in front 9-1, then extended it to 29-19 behind 11 points without a miss from Towns. Mitchell had seven points for Cleveland, which trailed 37-27 after the first.

Knicks coach Mike Brown lost his challenge seven minutes into the first quarter, failing to get a goaltending call against Towns overturned.

Sitting courtside were superstar singer Taylor Swift and her fiance Travis Kelce, a Kansas City Chiefs tight end who grew up in neighboring Cleveland Heights, Ohio.

CINCINNATI (AP) — Spencer Steer scored the winning run in the 11th inning with a headfirst slide on Blake Dunn's one-hopper to shortstop, and the Cincinnati Reds outlasted the St. Louis Cardinals 7-6 to split their day-night doubleheader Saturday.

Elly De La Cruz hit a three-run homer and Nathaniel Lowe launched a two-run shot as Cincinnati took a 5-1 lead in the fifth. But the Cardinals scored twice in the ninth and tied it 6-all on a two-out RBI single by Jordan Walker, who started the comeback with a three-run homer in the sixth.

Steer was the automatic runner in the 11th and he advanced from second to third on a sacrifice bunt by P.J. Higgins. After a walk to Dane Myers put runners at the corners, Dunn sent a one-hopper up the middle.

With the infield playing in, strong-armed shortstop Masyn Winn made a lunging stop to his left and a spinning throw to the plate, where catcher Yohel Pozo scooped the ball on a short hop. But he couldn't get his tag back down in time to get Steer, and a replay review upheld the safe call.

Dunn was credited with an RBI on a fielder's choice. He also prevented the go-ahead run from scoring in the top of the inning with a sliding catch in shallow right field.

In the opener, Bryan Torres hit a two-run homer and singled in his major league debut to help the Cardinals win 8-1.

De La Cruz clocked his 12th home run of the year in the nightcap, and Lowe homered in both ends of the twinbill.

Myers added a pinch-hit RBI double in the sixth to put the Reds up 6-4.

Pierce Johnson (2-1) pitched two perfect innings for the win after Tony Santillan squandered a two-run lead in the ninth, his third blown save this season. Pinch-hitter JosĂ© FermĂn homered to bring the Cardinals within one before Walker’s single tied it.

Riley O’Brien (3-2) took the loss despite getting four outs without giving up a hit.

The Reds earned their first win in a game started by someone other than Chase Burns or Andrew Abbott since April 25. They are 2-10 in division play.

Cardinals LHP Matthew Liberatore (2-2, 4.70 ERA) faces RHP Brady Singer (2-4, 6.26) in the series finale Sunday.

JIUQUAN, China, May 24 (Reuters) - China will send an astronaut to its space station on Sunday for a year, a record length for the country, enabling the study of long-duration human physiology in space as Beijing works towards its ambition of a crewed moon landing by 2030.

The ‌Shenzhou-23 vessel is scheduled to launch at 11:08 p.m. (1508 GMT) using the Long March-2F Y23 carrier rocket from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China, with ‌three Chinese astronauts on board.

Payload specialist Li Jiaying, a former Hong Kong police inspector, will be the first astronaut from the city to take part in a Chinese space mission. The other crew members are commander Zhu Yangzhu and pilot Zhang Yuanzhi, both from the People's Liberation Army's astronaut division.

CHINA, U.S. SET SIGHTS ON MOON

One of the three is to stay on the Tiangong space station for a year, one of the longest space missions ever but short of the 14-1/2 month record set by a Russian cosmonaut in 1995. That astronaut will be decided later, depending on the progress of the mission, the China Manned Space Agency said on Saturday.

China has sent astronauts to its space station almost a dozen times, but this launch comes amid an accelerating race ‌to the moon with the U.S., which has warned about what it alleges are Beijing's plans to colonise and mine lunar territory and resources.

Beijing has strongly rejected these claims.

NASA is seeking to achieve a crewed moon landing in 2028, two years ahead of China. The U.S. aims to establish a long-term lunar presence as a stepping stone to eventual human exploration of Mars.

In April, four NASA astronauts made a historic trip around the moon as part of the Artemis II mission, flying farther from Earth than anyone before in the world's first crewed lunar mission in half a century.

On Friday Elon Musk's SpaceX made a largely successful, uncrewed test flight of its next-generation Starship rocket, which is designed to enable more frequent Starlink satellite launches and to send future NASA missions to the moon.

China, with less than four years until its 2030 deadline, faces a tall order of developing entirely ‌new hardware and software specific to its lunar mission, proving it is mission-ready. That will ensure its astronauts, used to the relative safety of Tiangong in low-Earth orbit, can safely make the riskier transition to the moon's surface.

China's Shenzhou missions have been sending trios of astronauts to the station for six-month stays since 2021. The Chinese space agency is training two Pakistani astronauts, one of whom could join an expected mission to Tiangong this year on a short-duration basis.

GOAL OF PERMANENT LUNAR BASE BY 2035

The previous mission, Shenzhou-22, was launched ahead of schedule in November to return three Chinese astronauts to Earth after their Shenzhou-20 vessel was damaged by space debris in orbit.

China has only sent robots to the moon, ‌but its successive Shenzhou missions highlight the country's rapidly improving space capabilities. In June 2024, China became the first country to recover lunar samples from the moon's far side, using robots.

A successful crewed landing before 2030 would boost China's plans to establish a permanent base on the moon by 2035 with Russia.

The Chinese lunar programme's chief scientist, Wu Weiren, has said Beijing's public timeline is intentionally conservative.

Over the past year, ‌Beijing has been carrying out safety tests of hardware developed for the 2030 mission, including heavy-lift Long March-10 rockets, the Mengzhou spacecraft and the Lanyue lunar lander.

The Shenzhou-23 flight will execute the first autonomous rapid rendezvous and docking procedure with the core module of Tiangong in preparation for the 2030 mission, which hinges on an automated lunar-orbit rendezvous between the Mengzhou capsule and the Lanyue lander.

Scientists will also study the physiological effects of radiation exposure, bone density loss and psychological stress in space for the ‌extended duration of the Shenzhou-23 mission.

Beijing is conducting the world's first human "artificial embryo" experiment in space, having sent samples of human stem cells to the Shenzhou-22 crew on the Tiangong this month, state media reported. The experiment is intended to study the long-term residence, survival and reproduction of human beings in space.

Bruno Fernandes has been Manchester United captain for three seasons

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has been named Premier League player of the season.

The Portugal midfielder was also named Football Writers' Association men's Player of the Year this month.

Fernandes equalled the record for assists in a Premier League season when setting up his 20th goal against Nottingham Forest last weekend.

He has also scored eight goals in 37 games to help United secure third place and qualification for the Champions League.

Fernandes has created more chances - 132 - than any other player in the Premier League this season. He has 43 more than the second best, Liverpool's Dominik Szoboszlai.

Fernandes is the first United player to win the award since defender Nemanja Vidic in 2011.

The winner is decided after public votes are combined with those from a panel of football experts.

Arsenal's David Raya, Gabriel and Declan Rice, Manchester City' Erling Haaland and Antoine Semenyo, Brentford's Igor Thiago, and Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White were also shortlisted.

United travel to Brighton in their final game of the season on Sunday.

Stephen Colbert retained his sense of humor until the end of the Late Show With Stephen Colbertfinale, which aired Thursday, May 21.

The late-night host, 62, poked fun at his predicament.

"We were lucky enough to be here for the last 11 years," he said of the Ed Sullivan Theater. "You can't take this for granted. Though, actually, technically, our first show, back in July of 2015, was from a public access station in Monroe, Michigan, for an audience of 12 people."

Colbert showed a photo of himself sitting on wicker furniture, then said, "And show business being what it is these days, that's probably where you'll see me next."

Stephen Colbert Joked About His Plans Post-Show

Stephen Colbert pondered, 'How do you start an OnlyF---?'@LateShowWithStephenColbert/YouTube

The comedian admitted he would miss the "First Drafts" segment during which he showed a finished greeting card along with the first draft, which read, "This isn't goodbye, it's see you later!" The original read "This isn't goodbye. How do you start an OnlyF---?"

While he didn't directly mention Donald Trump, he made light of his cabinet choices citing Hanatvirus, saying the country's response is now being led Dr. Brian Christine, a "penile implant specialist and vaccine skeptic."

He yukked, "Clearly, this guy is not a fan of little p-----."

Paul McCartney Was Stephen Colbert's Final Guest

Popping up in the audience were Bryan Cranston, Tim Meadows and Paul Rudd, who each asked if they could be his final guest. Ryan Reynolds was also in attendance.

Instead, the final guest on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert was the legendary Beatles member Paul McCartney, 83, who has a new album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane, out May 29.

He brought him a photo of The Beatles performing at The Ed Sullivan Theatre, and Colbert joked, "To Stephen, you're better than The Beatles - Paul McCartney."

McCartney said, "It doesn't say that," but was a good sport about it.

After an interview that covered Beatles memories and his first impressions of America, Colbert and his crew joined McCartney onstage for the final performance.

He sang The Beatles' 1967 hit "Hello, Goodbye."

Donald Trump Weighed In

Donald Trump stayed up late to post his thoughts on the final 'Late Show' on Truth Social.MEGA

Colbert's run as the host of The Late Show began in 2015, and ended May 21, 2022 in controversy.

CBS blamed financial pressures, but political fallout was insinuated.

Naturally Trump had his say, writing on Truth Social at 1:52am ET on Thursday, May 22, “Colbert is finally finished at CBS. Amazing that he lasted so long! No talent, no ratings, no life. He was like a dead person. You could take any person off of the street and they would be better than this total jerk. Thank goodness he’s finally gone!"
