A report by the BBC suggests that Sarah Ferguson's honorary Freedom of the City of York title was stripped by the city council in a rare, unanimous vote. The news comes after Ferguson found herself in a myriad of controversies.

Helena Chard, a renowned royal family expert, told Fox News Digital that the move of stripping royal titles is "rare." She further stated that the Freedom of the City of York title was first revoked from ex-Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. This is a ceremonial honor, a symbolic recognition given to notable individuals.

Chard further said, "It is largely a ceremonial honour and will not change Andrew and Sarah's lives. However, it highlights their fall from grace, their reputational damage, diminished status and, considering they were the former Duke and Duchess of York, the removal of the titles is a big deal. It certainly highlights that actions have consequences."

According to one royal expert, the City Council's discussion on whether to revoke Ferguson's honorary title was unusually short. Hilary Fordwich told the outlet above that the entire process was very brief. Moreover, the source claimed that it "actually took less than 10 minutes," describing it as "totally unheard of."

Meanwhile, another expert, Ian Pelham Turner, claimed that losing such a title is "another slap in the face" for Ferguson. The expert added that Andrew's ex-wife is "traumatized" by the recent turn of events.

As per the discussion, Donnelly said, "top talent doesn't have a huge interest in working with them. This was a reference to their Netflix run, which he said had "a lot of false starts." He also argued that they "can't seem to find any top line creatives." Those people, he suggested, were not eager to invest in projects with them.

According to Donnelly, the problem was not just the image. He said Netflix staff had reached "an exhaustion" with the pair. He said, "they need a lot of hand-holding." David Corenswet has seamlessly donned his red cape, almost as if he never put it away.

The "Superman" star, 32, reprised the emblematic hero in "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow" ahead of its June 26 release in theaters nationwide.

An official trailer on March 31, shows Corenswet's Superman on a video call to his alien cousin Kara Zor-El (Milly Alcock), telling her, "You're not going to find your stride here if you keep going off-world all the time, Kara. I'm worried you're not going to find your people."

"Well, that's the thing, Clark, I have no people," she pessimistically replies. Comic book fans may recall that Supergirl wasn't raised on Earth like Clark Kent, after the destruction of their home planet, Krypton.

Corenswet is on a super streak as the new DC Studios film is sandwiched by 2025's "Superman" and 2027's "Superman: Man of Tomorrow." The "Hollywood" actor is joined by Nicholas Hoult, returning as his arch nemesis Lex Luthor.

The new summer blockbuster will follow Supergirl's three-day mission to obtain a cure for her superdog and friend, Krypto, who is poisoned by villainous alien Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts).

In an Entertainment Weekly interview published March 31, director Craig Gillespie says the movie will explore the differences between Kara and Clark's upbringings. Unlike Superman, Kara was not raised by a loving human family or taught how to be a hero but is later forced to follow in her younger cousin's footsteps and become a hero.

"Even though they're cousins, you get this almost older-sibling dynamic and that can be adversarial at times," Gillespie told the outlet. "He's the gentle guy that wants to reach out and be patient, and she's having to find a way and find herself."

The movie will also see Jason Momoa's return to DC, not as Aquaman but as intergalactic bounty hunter Lobo, who the trailer shows clashes with Supergirl.

Who is the new 'Supergirl'?

The first poster for next summer's "Supergirl" movie starring Milly Alcock.

Alcock made her debut as the new Supergirl in a post-credits scene of 2025's "Superman." She will take the reins from former live-action Kara Zor-Els, including Melissa Benoist for six seasons of CBS and CW's "Supergirl" and Sasha Calle in 2023's "The Flash" movie.

Alcock previously pursued various TV roles since 2014, but ascended to the next level of fame as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in the "Game of Thrones" prequel, "House of the Dragon." Emma D'Arcy landed an Emmy nomination playing an older version of Rhaenyra later in Season 1 and stayed the lead in Season 2, though Alcock also reprised her role as a guest star.

Eddie Cibrian made a surprise appearance in the newest episode of High Potential — but did everyone catch his scenes?

During the Tuesday, March 31, episode of the hit ABC series, Cibrian had a cameo as the mayor of Los Angeles. He originally resisted having Morgan (Kaitlin Olson) on the case but eventually shared evidence with her to help with the investigation.

According to the synopsis, "Wagner joins Morgan and the team on a hunt for the crew behind a series of heists ripping through elite private vaults." They then "uncover a far more dangerous endgame a looming cyberattack that could cripple Los Angeles' core infrastructure."

The police procedural, which premiered in September 2024, follows a high-potential intellectual — Morgan — who teams up with the LAPD to help solve murders. She gets paired up with a police officer, who is initially skeptical about Morgan's involvement with the Major Crimes unit but ultimately starts to rely on her.

Which 'High Potential' Stars Are — And Aren't — Returning for Season 2 After Several Plot Twists

Season 2 picked up with the confirmation that Morgan's ex Roman was still alive after going missing for more than a decade. The only information Morgan — and all of Us — have is that her ex worked as an FBI informant and doesn't trust the LAPD.

"It's a pretty bumpy ride. We're going to start unpacking some pretty intense things with Morgan, as it relates to all things Roman. There are all kinds of trials and tribulations that are going to happen with the kids at home," showrunner Todd Harthan teased to Us Weekly at the time. "It's just going to get messy and complicated — hopefully in all the best ways so that the audience stays on the edge of their seats."

He continued: "Our job now as we get to the back half of the second season is to fill in some of the big blanks and progress some of the relationships. You're going to see some intense things happen between Steve Howey's character and Captain Wagner really starts to bloom in the back half. That causes some good soapy messes on multiple fronts. It's just our normal MO of just trying to mix things up and keep the audience engaged and keep them guessing."

Harthan also expressed excitement at more guest stars.

"One of the wonderful things about this particular season is now that the show is doing really well, the choices we've had for casting have been incredible," he shared. "In the back half, you're going to see some really exciting guest stars."

Harthan concluded: "We have this wonderful main cast and we're trying to recruit — just like with Steve Howey. These actors have been just incredible. They can come into our show and hang with our wonderful cast and just add their own flavor to our world. It's been exciting and you'll see there's some really cool people popping in."

High Potential returns to ABC Tuesday, January 6, at 9 p.m. ET. The show is streaming on Hulu.

BEIJING, April 1 (Reuters) - A "system failure" caused a robotaxi outage involving multiple vehicles operated by Baidu's Apollo Go in central ‌China's Wuhan, local police said on Wednesday, re-igniting safety concerns over ‌the fast-growing service.

Police received reports late on Tuesday that numerous Apollo Go cars had ​stopped in the middle of roads in Wuhan and were unable to move, according to an official statement.

Passengers were able to exit the vehicles safely and there were no injuries, police said.

The cause of the incident is ‌still under investigation.

At least ⁠100 Apollo Go vehicles were affected, a traffic police officer said in a video published by Shanghai-based news ⁠outlet The Paper. The officer added that while the car doors could be opened, some passengers were hesitant to get out because of heavy traffic ​and called ​police for assistance.

Local media reported that ​some passengers were trapped inside ‌the vehicles for nearly two hours.

Baidu did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The accident sparked renewed discussions on Chinese social media about robotaxi safety and readiness.

An Apollo Go robotaxi carrying a passenger fell into a construction pit in Chongqing in August, and in May one ‌of the cars operated by Pony.ai caught ​fire on a road in Beijing. No ​injuries were reported in ​either incident.

A widespread power outage in San Francisco at ‌the end of last year also ​caused Waymo robotaxis to ​stall and snarl traffic.

Baidu is one of China's largest operators of autonomous driving fleets, alongside Pony.ai and WeRide. The companies have ​rolled out commercial robotaxi ‌services across major Chinese cities and have expanded operations into ​overseas markets, including the Middle East.
