SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Will Smith scored the tiebreaking goal late in the third period, and the San Jose Sharks beat the Winnipeg Jets 2-1 on Friday night.

Macklin Celebrini had a goal and an assist to move into the NHL scoring lead, and Alex Nedeljkovic finished with 32 saves for his third win in four starts. The Sharks extended their point streak to five games (4-0-1).

Josh Morrissey scored for Winnipeg, and Connor Hellebuyck stopped 25 shots. The Jets have lost two straight.

On a scramble in front of the net, Hellebuyck stopped Celebrini's attempt from the left side of the net. However, the puck sat in front of the line behind him, and Smith tapped it in from the right side with 4:21 remaining.

Celebrini's assist was his league-high 23rd point (nine goals, 14 assists) of the season.

The Sharks outshot the Jets 11-9 in a scoreless second period with no penalties.

Morrissey gave the Jets a 1-0 lead with 7:26 remaining in the opening period with a long slap shot from the left point.

Celebrini tied it 1:12 later on a breakaway as he skated in on Hellebuyck and t ucked a backhander around his left pad.

Up next

Jets: At Anaheim on Sunday in the third of a six-game trip.

Sharks: Host Florida on Saturday to finish a two-game homestand.

- Bobby Moynihan says Val Kilmer took shoes that were a gift from Usain Bolt out of his *SNL* dressing room.

- Moynihan also remembers he and Taran Killam "turning into five-year-olds" when another ex-Batman, Michael Keaton, hosted the show.

- The comedian is voicing mutated scientist Man-Bat in the new animated Batman series *Bat-Fam* on Prime Video.

Bobby Moynihan is lending his voice to a new Batman project — and has fond memories of crossing paths with multiple iconic actors who played the Caped Crusader during his tenure at *Saturday Night Live*.

While discussing his turn as Man-Bat in the upcoming Prime Video animated series *Bat-Fam*, the *SNL* alum tells ** about a bizarre encounter he had with the late Val Kilmer, who played the Dark Knight in 1995's *Batman Forever*.

"I was sitting in my dressing room, probably smoking a cigarette — I was a smoker at the time," Moynihan says. "There's a knock on my dressing room door, and I didn't say anything, and it just opened, and it was Val Kilmer."

Moynihan says that the *Top Secret* star had a puzzling request when he entered the dressing room. "He had two or three boxes of shoes with him," he recalls. "And he said, 'Hey, man, do you want those shoes?'"

Those shoes had an unusual origin. "What had happened was Usain Bolt was around and had given everybody free shoes," Moynihan explains. "And for some reason, Val Kilmer showed up with a couple pairs in his hand and asked me if I wanted mine."

Moynihan inexplicably ceded his gift from the legendary Olympian. "For some reason I said 'No,' and Val took them and left, and I never saw him again," he says. "I can't explain it. I don't know why he needed so many Usain Bolt shoes. He didn't know what size they were."

Despite losing the shoes, Moynihan still looks on that encounter with fondness. "I'm glad that Val Kilmer got what he needed in that moment," Moynihan says. "It couldn't have been more perfect."

The performer behind Drunk Uncle also lost his mind while performing alongside Michael Keaton when the *Spotlight* star hosted *SNL* in 2015. "It's like the most childish thing I've ever done," he says. "I'm looking right now at a signed Michael Keaton bobblehead of Batman and my signed Michael Keaton Beetlejuice head. When Michael Keaton came and hosted the show, Taran Killam and I turned into just five-year-olds."

Moynihan and Killam channeled their admiration for Keaton into their writing. "We wrote a sketch that was asking him if he'll play Batman or Beetlejuice with us, and they ended up turning it into the monologue, which was pretty nuts," he remembers. Hugging, having your arms around Batman while he says, 'I'm Batman' *and* 'It's Showtime' as Beetlejuice — 15-year-old Bobby didn't understand that and still really hasn't processed it."

On *Bat-Fam*, Moynihan's layabout version of Man-Bat (a.k.a. Mutated scientist Dr. Kirk Langstrom) is fairly different from his comic book counterpart.

"They sent me a drawing of a very scary looking feral bat that didn't look anything like it does now," the comedian recalls. "And we started talking, and then the idea of him living upstairs came, and then we started talking about him being more like the Big Lebowski — just being in a robe and hanging around all day."

Moynihan also says that the vision for the character shifted once he officially boarded the project. "The drawings changed once I got cast and we had a couple conversations," he says. "That's, I think, when the robe and the coffee cup came in, and then that kind of led to him being more of a lazy dude and just kind of a weirdo. And that's where we ended up: we have this beloved weirdo."

*Bat-Fam* isn't Moynihan's first bat-rodeo. He also hosts a goofy Batman-adjacent podcast *Who Me? With the Batmin* ("I just accuse people of killing my parents") and contributed voice work to the audio series *Batman Audio Adventures*.

"That was maybe the best job of my life," he says of *BAA*. "Dennis McNicholas, one of the writers from *SNL* 'Weekend Update,' is a gigantic comic book fan, and he just knocked it out of the park and wrote this audio adventure series and cast me as the Penguin and Bat-Mite. I just got to play in a world that I love, but that one was darker."

He continues, "I don't ever get to do stuff like that, so that's one of my favorite things I ever got to do. And same here with this one. Man-Bat is a blast. I was a fan of the character before, so now it's fun to put my own spin on it."

*Bat-Fam* premieres on Prime Video on Monday, Nov. 10.

NBC is treating *Wicked *fans who just can't wait for the upcoming premiere of *Wicked: For Good *to a most festivating celebration of all things Ozian. *Wicked: One Wonderful Night *will reunite the major cast of the 2024 blockbuster smash and its upcoming sequel for a night of singing, dancing, sneak peeks and previews. But one shining star of the musical duology won't be joining in the merriment - at least on stage.

Jonathan Bailey was not able to join his costars on stage at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sept. 24 for the taping of the TV special due to prior engagements — including being in production on one project and a press photoshoot, both in London — that put his schedule in conflict.

*Wicked *stars Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, Bowen Yang, Marissa Bode, and Ethan Slater will all appear on stage in the production which airs tonight. A sneak peek released earlier this week showed Yang and Slater filling Bailey's shoes to perform "Dancing Through Life."**

But never fear, * *has learned that Bailey did film at least one segment for *One Wonderful Night *so Prince Fiyero's presence will be felt on the special.

It has been a busy autumn for the English actor, who is looking forward not just to *Wicked: For Good*, but the upcoming fourth season of Shonda Rhimes' regency drama *Bridgerton*. And, oh yeah, he was just crowed PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive 2025.

Jason Hetherington

"It's a huge honor. Obviously I'm incredibly flattered. And it's completely absurd," Bailey shared after accepting the honor, taking over from last year's winner, John Krasinski.

In a video featuring his *Wicked *costars reacting to his new title, Goldblum declared Bailey "the sexiest man not only on this planet, but in the solar system, in the universe, and any multiverse."**

The broomstick-scooting besties will perform some of the banner songs from both films, and fans will get a chance to hear some of their new songs — "No Place Like Home" and "The Girl in the Bubble" — specially crafted for *Wicked: For Good *by original musical composer and lyricist Stephen Schwartz.

Beyond live performances accompanied by a 37-piece live orchestra led by Tony-winning musical director Stephen Oremus, the two-hour special will feature newly modified dances from the films' choreographer, Christopher Scott.

Adding to the supersized affair are behind-the-scenes clips, new interviews with the *Wicked *cast and crew, appearances by Schwartz and director Jon M. Chu, cameos by surprise guests, and a world-premiere clip from *Wicked: For Good*.

*Wicked: One Wonderful Night *premieres on NBC on Nov. 6 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, and streams the next day on Peacock. *Wicked: For Good *premieres in theaters on Nov. 21.**

NBC decided to steer its musical special *Wicked: One Wonderful Night* down a decidedly apolitical path.

At the tail end of Thursday's two-hour broadcast, *Wicked *and *Wicked: For Good *star Marissa Bode appeared on stage to introduce her screen sister Cynthia Erivo's command performance of the musical's high-flying anthem, "Defying Gravity." Bode reminded the packed auditorium at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles that *Wicked *is "filled with so many incredible songs, but there is one that stands out."

"It's connected with so many people from all over the world. I'm talking, of course, about 'Defying Gravity,'" she continued. "The song is an ode to authenticity and about believing in yourself no matter what obstacles the world puts in your way. Performing 'Defying Gravity,' please welcome the incredible Cynthia Erivo." But that's not exactly how Bode's introduction played out during the special's live taping.

The Sept. 24 recording, which was attended by **, included additional comments that were cut from Thursday's broadcast. In Bode's full introduction, she added that the song's paean to "authenticity" and "believing in yourself" extended to standing up to a "power-hungry dictator."**

EW has reached out to representatives for NBC and Bode for comment.

Indeed, the two-part film, based on the stage musical by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman, contains decidedly anti-authoritarian themes, with its "Wicked" Witch of the West (Erivo) being branded a traitor by a corrupt despot (Jeff Goldblum's Wizard) after she uncovers a secretive plot being executed against the fictional Oz's animal citizens.

Bode's cut comment clearly pointed to this narrative fact. Elphaba is an outspoken champion of civil rights who opposes the Wizard's two-faced treachery, and "Defying Gravity" is the apotheosis of this rebellion within the musical. But Bode's pointed delivery, and the reaction of the crowd, suggested that the comment carried an evident double meaning in the current political climate.**

Best and worst moments from 'Wicked: One Wonderful Night' with Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande and Remington on 'Wicked: One Wonderful Night'

Bode has been outspokenly political since her rise to fame for portraying Nessarose Thropp in *Wicked*. The actress, who uses a wheelchair, is a champion of disability rights, particularly as they intersect with the movement to uplift Black lives.

Just two weeks before the taping of *One Wonderful Night*, Bode took to her TikTok account to defend a post construed by some of her followers as controversial, in which she rejected "being called hateful because I don't feel an ounce of sympathy" for the slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, whom Bode described as "a man whose whole career was built on being a bigot."

Bode posted that TikTok on Sept. 11, the day after Kirk was shot while discussing gun violence at Utah Valley University. On Sept. 17, ABC indefinitely suspended *Jimmy Kimmel Live! *after host Jimmy Kimmel stated in the previous night's monologue that the "MAGA gang" were "desperately trying to characterize" Tyler Robinson, the alleged perpetrator of Kirk's death, as "anything other than one of them." After intense pushback, the network lifted Kimmel's suspension, with his return to air occurring on Sept. 23, the day before the taping of *One Wonderful Night.***

Bode was one of number of stars from the films to appear on the special. Erivo joined her Good Witch counterpart Ariana Grande in several duets, and all three actresses performed alongside and engaged in banter with Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Yeoh, Bowen Yang, and Ethan Slater.

Jonathan Bailey, who plays the dashing Prince Fiyero, was not present for the live taping, as he was wrapped up in production in England. But he did join the aforementioned stars in a separately-recorded cast conversation that played between the night's musical numbers. There were also surprise guests, including the stars of the original Broadway production, Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth, who sang a touching rendition of the closing number "For Good" with Erivo and Grande.**

Following its Thursday night premiere on NBC, *Wicked: One Wonderful Night* begins streaming on Peacock Friday.**
