Hailee Steinfeld shared the origin of her nickname Beau in the latest edition of her newsletter Beau Society on Friday, Nov. 7

The Sinners star wrote that her parents chose the nickname when they began calling her "Hailee Beau Bailee" early in her life

"No one in my family actually calls me Hailee; they call me Beau," Steinfeld previously wrote in her newsletter back in August 2024

Hailee Steinfeld is explaining the origins behind her longtime nickname.

In the Friday, Nov. 7, edition of the Sinners star's newsletter Beau Society, which she launched in August 2024, Steinfeld, 28, responded to a reader who asked her how she got the nickname Beau.

"Before I was born, my parents couldn't decide whether to name me Hailee or Bailee," Steinfeld wrote in response to the question. "Obviously, they landed on Hailee, but still liked the sound of Bailee, so they started calling me 'Hailee Beau Bailee', which we shortened to Beau."

"It's a childhood nickname that I never dropped," she explained.

Steinfeld's father Peter is a personal trainer and her mother Cheri worked in interior design before taking on a role as Hailee's manager. They married in 1992 and also share older son Griffin, 31, whom the singer and actress told PEOPLE she is "especially close with" in a 2023 digital cover story.

"I would not be who I am or where I am if it weren't for my mother and my father and my brother," Hailee said at the time. "They have kept me in check every step of the way."

Steinfeld previously shared some of the story behind her nickname when she originally launched Beau Society in its first-ever edition on Aug. 9, 2024. At that time, she wrote that she began considering a newsletter in 2023 during the Screen Actors Guild strike and while she was living in Buffalo, where her now-husband Josh Allen plays quarterback for the NFL's Buffalo Bills.

"Oh, and the name - it's what everyone calls me," she wrote at the end of her first newsletter.

"No one in my family actually calls me Hailee; they call me Beau! And since I started creating this thing, I've already riffed on the name: Beau Society naturally morphed into its initials, BS," she added. "Which evolved into This is BS - my mom coined that expression during a fitting and it stuck immediately."

As Hailee told Bustle in a recent interview, she largely works on her newsletter during weeks where she isn't working. "I wake up on a Monday, which is my brainstorming day. Tuesday, I'm writing it," she said. "Wednesday, sending it off to my designer. And then Thursday, we're doing revisions, and then we send it off."

Robert Irwin had a special visitor during Dancing with the Stars rehearsals this week.

On Friday, Nov. 7, Bindi Irwin shared a sweet photo of her daughter Grace Warrior, 4, visiting her brother Robert as he rehearsed for this week's episode of the dancing competition series. In the adorable picture, Grace could be seen wearing a dark green sparkly dress with a green ribbon, posing with her arms over her head.

Bindi, who won season 21 of the reality dance show with partner Derek Hough, smiled with her arm around Robert, who crouched down next to his dancing partner, Witney Carson. "Celebrating 20 years of @dancingwiththestars. So incredibly special to bring Grace to the rehearsal studio," Bindi wrote in the caption.

"Her favourite part? 'Dance Class' with Witney and Uncle Robert. 🥹 My. Heart. #TeamIrWINit," she added.

Bindi and her husband Chandler Powell have been staying in America with their daughter Grace to cheer on Robert as he competes in Dancing with the Stars. However, a few weeks ago, Bindi shared that her family would not be in the audience that week because her daughter caught a cold.

"We absolutely adore being in the audience to celebrate Uncle Robert on @dancingwiththestars," Bindi wrote in an Instagram post. "This week, Grace has a little cold so we're going to cheer from our living room. 🩵."

In her comments, Bindi's mom Terri Irwin sweetly sent a message of support. "Sending healing hugs!💕," she wrote.

At the end of September, Bindi shared a series of photos on Instagram ahead of attending a live taping of DWTS. In one sweet photo, Bindi and Powell posed with their daughter Grace in front of a multicolored mural.

Other photos showed just the mom and her daughter twirling together alone. Bindi wore a baby pink dress with flowers on the bodice, matching her daughter Grace's mini version. The two posed together for photos, smiling and dancing.

"Dancing all the way to @dancingwiththestars. 💕" Bindi wrote in her caption before adding details on how to vote for her brother Robert, who is currently competing on the show.

Earlier that same month, Robert prepared for his second week in the dancing competition by giving fans a glimpse of his apparent at-home training regimen, which included a few pointers for — and from! — his niece Grace.

In a clip shared to Instagram on Sept. 20, Robert was seen talking Grace through a mini routine in the living room, which featured kicks, spins, jumps and hand-holding. "Did I do it?," Grace asked her uncle in the clip, before he responded with a laugh, "Yeah, that's it."

Eventually, as Grace began to point her legs in unison with Robert, her mom, Bindi, could be heard sharing her approval in the background as Robert confirmed, "We did it."

"10s, all 10s," he said. "Everybody else can go home now, Grace has won."

DENVER (AP) — Look past the clunky offense and the persistent special teams gaffes and you'll see the exact same thing that carried the Denver Broncos to a tickertape parade the last time they started a season 8-2.

A suffocating defense that erases just about all the warts.

It was Von Miller, DeMarcus Ware and the "No Fly-Zone" secondary in 2015 that carried Peyton Manning and a doddering offense across the finish line in Super Bowl 50.

This time, it's Nik Bonitto, Jonathon Cooper, Zach Allen, Dre Greenlaw, Talanoa Hufanga, Alex Singleton and, when healthy, Pat Surtain II, that's leading the way through all those three-and-outs by scuffling second-year QB Bo Nix and the sputtering offense along with the weekly goof-ups in the kicking game.

The Broncos edged the Las Vegas Raiders 10-7 Thursday night for their seventh straight win thanks to another stellar performance by Vance Joseph's defense. They sacked Geno Smith a half dozen times, pushing their total to 46, more than any team's had in its first 10 games since at least 1990.

They're on pace for an NFL-record 78 sacks.

They allowed just one score in 13 possessions by the Raiders (2-7), of which seven straight featured zero first downs. Eight ended in punts, one of which was blocked by J.L. Skinner, which led to Wil Lutz's game-winning field goal. Dondrea Tillman had an interception and Hufanga sacked Smith on fourth-and-5 from the Denver 38 for a turnover on downs.

"Our defense was fantastic," coach Sean Payton said.

And their offense was abysmal again.

"Yeah, cool we're 8-2 … (but) the defense is winning us the games and we're not helping them, we're not doing them any justice,'' running back J.K. Dobbins said. " I feel bad the way we play on offense and the way they play on defense because they're doing so great and we're doing so bad. They're our brothers, too, and it just (stinks) because they're just out there so many plays, playing their butts off. We can't keep doing this to them.''

The Broncos realize the way they're playing now won't cut it against the league's elite, beginning next week with a showdown against the Kansas City Chiefs (5-4), who have won the AFC West nine years in a row.

"This is probably the best team I've been on and we owe it to the fan base, we owe it to ourselves to stop playing how we're playing,'' Dobbins said. "We got to do better, we just have to do better. Eventually it's going to bite us in the butt.''

Said Nix, "At some point we've got to start moving the ball and scoring some points. Between penalties and sluggish football we're just not playing very good. It starts with me, I've got to be better … we've got to find some juice.''

Right tackle Mike McGlinchey suggested the offense can't keep relying on the defense to bail out the Broncos.

"We've got to do our part,'' he said.

What's working

Denver is on track to obliterate the franchise-record of 63 sacks they collected last season and eclipse the NFL record for most sacks in a season (72 by the Chicago Bears in 1984).

What needs help

Nix's offense was stuck in neutral much of the night and was flagged eight times. Like the Raiders, the Broncos had more penalties (11) than first downs (10). The last time both the Broncos and their opponents had fewer first downs than flags was back in 1971.

Stock up

Bonitto had 1 1/2 sacks, two tackles for loss and three quarterback hits to go with five tackles. According to NextGen Stats, Bonitto has generated 28 pressures in under 2.5 seconds this season, seven more than the next closest pass rusher entering the rest of the Week 10 slate.

Stock down

Rookie P Jeremy Crawshaw regressed from a solid start to the season with three shanked punts. The first one traveled 30 yards to the Denver 41, setting up the Raiders' only touchdown. The second traveled 36 yards and bounced out of bounds at the Las Vegas 29. And the third one, which followed AJ Cole's second coffin corner punt for the Raiders, went 38 yards to the Denver 48. Tack on a penalty and the Raiders started at Denver's 43.

Injuries

The Broncos haven't missed star cornerback Surtain (pectoral muscle) nearly as much as they've missed WR/KR Marvin Mims Jr. (concussion). They've muffed two punts in his two-game absence. RG Quinn Meinerz left Thursday night's game after getting sick in the second half.

Key stat

The Broncos have outscored their opponents 96-36 in the fourth quarter so far, and over their seven-game winning streak, that differential is 86-20.

Next steps

The Broncos get a mini-bye week before they return to work Monday to begin preparing for a visit from Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, who are on their bye week. It'll take a much better all-round effort to beat KC and build a big lead over the team that's owned the division since 2016.

Former LSU football coach Brian Kelly shared his first statement on Thursday, Nov. 6, since being fired nearly two weeks ago.

Kelly was fired midway through his fourth season with the Tigers on Oct. 26 following LSU's 49-25 loss to Texas A&M at home.

REQUIRED READING: Timeline reveals how Brian Kelly firing exposed LSU athletics dysfunction

The move has sent a shockwave through LSU athletics in the aftermath, which also parted ways with athletic director Scott Woodward. LSU president Wade Rousse, who was named as the university's next leader on Nov. 4, then named Verge Ausberry the Tigers' permanent athletic director after serving in an interim role for a few days.

"As everyone heads on their way to see the Tigers play, I wish Coach (Frank) Wilson, the coaches and our players the best this weekend," Kelly wrote on social media. "I know they will do their best for themselves and for LSU. We will be watching and cheering for you.

"This journey may have ended, but it's a journey that will stay with me and my family forever."

Kelly had never been fired as a college head coach before. The 64-year-old coach led Division II Grand Valley State to back-to-back national championships before moving to Central Michigan, where he finished 9-4 in his last season.

— Brian Kelly (@CoachBrianKelly) November 6, 2025

Kelly then took over at Cincinnati and led the Bearcats to back-to-back New Year's Six bowls in 2008-09. He then went 92-39 at Notre Dame and won double-digit games in his final five seasons there.

Kelly couldn't quite bring the same success to Baton Rouge, though, with the Tigers failing to finish ranked in the top 10 in his first three seasons with the program. LSU's leaders said they expect to reach the College Football Playoff every season with the expanded 12-team bracket, and that wasn't going to happen in 2025 after the Tigers' third loss, which ultimately led to Kelly's exit.

Each of the three coaches at LSU before Kelly – Nick Saban, Les Miles and Ed Orgeron – won national titles with the program. Kelly went 34-14 during his time with the program.

"The losses will always hurt, but I will remember all of the wins," Kelly wrote.

One half of the *It Ends With Us* legal battle has reached its end.

Justin Baldoni's $400 million lawsuit against Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds is officially dead after the actor declined to file an amended complaint. In a Friday ruling obtained by PEOPLE and reviewed by **, U.S. District Court Judge Lewis J. Liman signed a new order formally dismissing the lawsuit, stating that Baldoni and his Wayfarer Studios co-plaintiffs allowed the refile deadline to lapse after their case was dismissed in June.

At the time, Liman threw out the claims of defamation, but allowed the plaintiffs the opportunity to amend and refile their claims against Lively for breach of implied covenant and tortious interference with contract. Liman stated that he subsequently contacted all parties on Oct. 17 to warn them that he would be entering a final judgment to conclude the case, but only received a response from Lively. The actress asked the judge to declare a final judgment but still allow her request for legal fees to remain active, which he granted, with Baldoni having the option to now file an appeal.

Representatives for Baldoni and Lively did not immediately respond to **'s request for comment.

The lawsuit was Baldoni's counterpunch in the ongoing bitter legal battle, which began when Lively filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department last December, accusing her costar and director of sexual harassment on the set of *It Ends With Us* and claiming that he orchestrated a smear campaign against her in the aftermath. She subsequently filed a lawsuit against Baldoni and Wayfarer in New York federal court.

In response, Baldoni filed his $400 million lawsuit against her as well as her husband, Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist Leslie Sloane, claiming civil extortion, defamation, breach of contract, and invasion of privacy. He also filed a $250 defamation suit against *The* *New York Times*, over the publication's story that first brought Lively's allegations to light.

In June, Judge Liman dismissed the entire lawsuit filed by Baldoni and his Wayfarer Studios production company. Liman found that since Lively's claims against Baldoni were first made in a complaint to the California Civil Rights Department (which was then reported on by *The New York Times*), the claims are covered by litigation privilege and not considered defamatory.

Liman also dismissed the claims of defamation made against Lively's publicist, Reynolds, and the *Times*, stating that they did not defame Baldoni by relying on Lively's account, as they had no reason to doubt her version of events.

Lively's attorneys Esra Hudson and Mike Gottlieb declared the June ruling a "total victory" for Lively and a "complete vindication" of her claims. "As we have said from day one, this '$400 million' lawsuit was a sham, and the Court saw right through it," they said in a statement provided to EW. "We look forward to the next round, which is seeking attorneys' fees, treble damages and punitive damages against Baldoni, [Wayfarer co-founder Steve] Sarowitz, [publicist Melissa] Nathan, and the other Wayfarer Parties who perpetrated this abusive litigation."

Lively herself celebrated the victory in an Instagram Stories post, opening up about the "pain" caused by the "retaliatory lawsuit" and writing that she is "more resolved than ever to continue to stand for every woman's right to have a voice in protecting themselves, including their safety, their integrity, their dignity and their story."

Meanwhile, Baldoni's attorney, Bryan Freedman, slammed Lively and her team for their "predictable declaration of victory," which he stated was "false."

Freedman continued, "This case is about false accusations of sexual harassment and retaliation and a nonexistent smear campaign, which Ms. Lively's own team conveniently describes as 'untraceable' because they cannot prove what never happened."

Lively's lawsuit against Baldoni is set to go to trial in March.**

Bianca Lawson is taking a trip down memory lane.

On Nov. 4, at Glamour's Women of the Year event at The Plaza Hotel, the 46-year-old actress opened up about a moment early in her career that left a lasting mark. During the filming of the 1998 film Primary Colors at just 17, Lawson says she found herself spending quiet moments in the trailer of Oscar-winning actress Emma Thompson, 66.

In Primary Colors, Emma Thompson plays Susan Stanton, the suffering wife of a Southern governor, played by John Travolta, running for president. Meanwhile, Lawson plays Loretta, a character navigating the political world.

"She would do yoga in her trailer and have me sit there while she gave me life advice," Lawson recalls to PEOPLE exclusively. "'Never let them put you on a diet,' she told me. It was empowering — just to be true to yourself, not to buckle to shallow pressures and to remember that your mind is the most important thing."

Thompson didn't just offer words of encouragement; she also penned Lawson a beautiful poem, a gesture the actress still cherishes. "I don't have it anymore, but I think about it all the time," Lawson says. "I wish I did, if I did, I would post it on Instagram and say, 'Oh my God, you're amazing.'"

Even decades later, the advice and guidance from Thompson continue to resonate with Lawson, a reminder of the rare kindness and mentorship she received early on in an industry not always known for nurturing young talent.

"It was such a special moment," Lawson says, smiling. "And it's something I carry with me to this day."

During the interview, the former Pretty Little Liars actor reflected on the role her family has played throughout her career, which was especially meaningful navigating a career as a child actor.

"My aunt Glen, she was someone I really looked up to," Lawson says. "She passed away when I was 12, but she was one of those magical people who always made me feel looked after, always made me feel protected. She remembered everything, every little moment that was important to me — she remembered so far into the future."

"I think when you have that, it makes you go out into the world with so much confidence because you know that you have someone who loves you so much and is always waiting for you," she adds.

"My mother was with me all the time, and it's really special to have parents who genuinely have your best interest at heart, especially when they're protecting you," she continues. "That kind of support has shaped who I am, both on and off the screen."
