Bianca Lawson is taking a trip down memory lane.

On Nov. 4, at Glamour's Women of the Year event at The Plaza Hotel, the 46-year-old actress opened up about a moment early in her career that left a lasting mark. During the filming of the 1998 film Primary Colors at just 17, Lawson says she found herself spending quiet moments in the trailer of Oscar-winning actress Emma Thompson, 66.

In Primary Colors, Emma Thompson plays Susan Stanton, the suffering wife of a Southern governor, played by John Travolta, running for president. Meanwhile, Lawson plays Loretta, a character navigating the political world.

"She would do yoga in her trailer and have me sit there while she gave me life advice," Lawson recalls to PEOPLE exclusively. "'Never let them put you on a diet,' she told me. It was empowering — just to be true to yourself, not to buckle to shallow pressures and to remember that your mind is the most important thing."

Thompson didn't just offer words of encouragement; she also penned Lawson a beautiful poem, a gesture the actress still cherishes. "I don't have it anymore, but I think about it all the time," Lawson says. "I wish I did, if I did, I would post it on Instagram and say, 'Oh my God, you're amazing.'"

Even decades later, the advice and guidance from Thompson continue to resonate with Lawson, a reminder of the rare kindness and mentorship she received early on in an industry not always known for nurturing young talent.

"It was such a special moment," Lawson says, smiling. "And it's something I carry with me to this day."

During the interview, the former Pretty Little Liars actor reflected on the role her family has played throughout her career, which was especially meaningful navigating a career as a child actor.

"My aunt Glen, she was someone I really looked up to," Lawson says. "She passed away when I was 12, but she was one of those magical people who always made me feel looked after, always made me feel protected. She remembered everything, every little moment that was important to me — she remembered so far into the future."

"I think when you have that, it makes you go out into the world with so much confidence because you know that you have someone who loves you so much and is always waiting for you," she adds.

"My mother was with me all the time, and it's really special to have parents who genuinely have your best interest at heart, especially when they're protecting you," she continues. "That kind of support has shaped who I am, both on and off the screen."

Acting powerhouse Elle Fanning has found her match in music journalism executive Gus Wenner.

The Predator: Badlands star first sparked romance rumors with Wenner when they were seen holding hands in November 2023. They went public with their relationship a few months later when they made their red carpet debut at the 81st annual Golden Globe Awards in January 2024.

The two have been going strong ever since and have each expressed their love for each other on Valentine's Day in 2025. Fanning shared two photos that showed Wenner carrying her and another of the two smiling under a waterfall for the holiday.

"Happy Valentine's Love of my Life," she captioned the photos. "I got your back always."

Wenner reciprocated the feeling by posting a video of Fanning licking an ice cream cone while dancing and smiling. He captioned the video, "Everyday is valentines day my love you are my heart."

So, who is Elle Fanning's boyfriend? Here's everything to know about Gus Wenner and his relationship with the actress.

Wenner is the son of Jane Schindelheim and Jann Wenner, who co-founded Rolling Stone. In a 2022 Father's Day post honoring Jann, Wenner called his father his "best friend" and "mentor."

Back in 2015, he posted a birthday tribute to his dad on Instagram, writing, "I remember when I didn't know how smart you were, when I was a kid, and you were just my dad. Now I know you are brilliant. And you are still my dad, first and foremost. But you are also my greatest teacher. I learn from you everyday. From up close. From a far. And I'm so [f—in] lucky to have you."

In January 2022, Wenner was named chief executive officer of Rolling Stone, per Adweek. Prior to becoming CEO, he was president and chief operating officer, a role he had held since 2017, according to his PMC bio.

However, in May 2025, Rolling Stone announced that Wenner would be transitioning into the role of executive chairman, while Julian Holguin is the new CEO. The two work together on the brand's strategic goals.

"Rolling Stone is poised for continued success leveraging Gus' deep experience and vision for the brand and Julian's keen business instincts and passion for innovation," Jay Penske, chairman and CEO, Penske Media Corporation, said in a statement, per Variety. "Rolling Stone will continue its rich legacy of world class journalism and culture-shaping conversation while creating new avenues for growth."

In an interview with Brown Alumni Magazine, Wenner shared that he took a "lowly" entry-level job at Rolling Stone the summer after he graduated from the Ivy League school in 2012.

He recalled his father telling him, "Just so you know, this is going nowhere," to which Wenner said he replied, "I know. I don't want it to. I just want to learn for a year and then move on."

He also told the outlet that in "any industry, if you get your foot in the door, you still have to walk through it ... and especially for publishing and print media."

Wenner noted, "it was not a forgiving place," adding, "The bottom line was always that if we were able to show gains and results and make that transition [to digital], then let's do it. And we did."

Wenner was one-half of the folk-rock band Gus + Scout. Fanning's boyfriend formed the band with Demi Moore and Bruce Willis' daughter Scout Willis while at Brown. The musical duo released their self-titled debut EP in 2012.

"We were only ever really friends at a very, very young age, and then were only just aware of each other in adolescence," Scout said of her and Wenner's relationship during an interview with W Magazine in 2012. "It wasn't until my freshman year at Brown that we connected in a real way and began playing music together,"

On her Instagram, the We Bought a Zoo actress shared a picture of Wenner sporting sunglasses as he lounged on a boat.

"My funny Valentine🏹💕🙈," she captioned the photo. Wenner reacted to the post with three purple heart emojis.

Bob Dylan is his "hero"

Wenner has previously dubbed Grammy winner Bob Dylan his "hero. Forever and always."

In his 2024 interview with Brown Alumni Magazine, Wenner also revealed that a day he spent with the "Mr. Tambourine Man" singer when he was 8 or 9 years old stands out as one of his favorite memories.

Wenner said, "I was able to relate with him on a very pure level because I was too young to really know" how famous Dylan was.

Years earlier, while speaking to W Magazine in 2012, Wenner shared that he started to fall in love with Dylan when he was around 13.

He admitted, "His music affected me on an emotional level like I didn't know possible, and it opened the door to a whole history of country and blues music that has made me who I am as a person, and definitely as a songwriter."

NEW YORK (AP) — Lea Michele was just a kid actor backstage at the Imperial Theatre on Broadway when she first heard a song from the musical "Chess" on a stereo. Some three decades later, she finds herself singing that same tune in the same theater.

The "Glee" and Broadway veteran, who got her professional start in "Les Misérables" at age 8, has returned, now a mother and a bankable star, to her old stomping grounds, which coincidentally is the very theater where "Chess" made its debut in 1988.

"The Imperial Theatre really has a soul. Every show that's ever been in it is absorbed in the walls. It's a little eerie, but very powerful. Other theaters can feel a little sterile, but this does not feel that way," she says.

She remembers exactly where she sat the first time she saw "Les Misérables" — orchestra left, six rows in — hearing Paige O'Hara as Fantine sing "I Dreamed a Dream" in the musical that she would soon join, playing Young Cosette and Young Eponine.

"I was in the show and I told my parents, I said 'I love this. I want to do this for the rest of my life.' And it's really very emotional to be here 30 years later still working, thank God, back at this theater," she says. The icing on the cake? An electrician on her return simply said: "Welcome home."

What's 'Chess' about?'

"Chess," which opens Nov. 16 and is set primarily in Bangkok and Budapest during the Cold War, tells the fictional story about two chess grandmasters — an American played by Aaron Tveit and a Soviet, portrayed by Nicholas Christopher — facing off to win for their respective nations, a task complicated by the appearance of a woman they both love, played by Michele.

"This is the hardest character in a lot of ways that I've ever played," Michele says. "She's a woman. She's strong. I don't have comedy to lean on as a crutch or as a kind of like a protective cloak."

The show reunites Michele with Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer, who directed her both in her breakout " Spring Awakening " in 2006 and also in "Funny Girl" in 2022.

Mayer also has great memories of the Imperial Theatre. It was the place where he saw his first Broadway show — "Pippin" in 1976 with Ben Vereen. He was in the back row of the mezzanine, eight seats in from the right aisle. "I sat there and everything came back," he says.

The show, with lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson of ABBA, originated as a concept album in 1984 and includes the goosebump-raising "Anthem," the pop-pulsing "One Night in Bangkok"— which reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 — and the lilting "I Know Him So Well."

The musical, first staged in London in 1986 and heavily revised for a Broadway production in 1988, has a cult fan base, but the Broadway production was a flop, lasting less than 90 performances. Attempts have been made to resuscitate it over the years with concerts and new stagings. A new story has been written for the latest iteration by screenwriter Danny Strong.

Michele is aware of the show's somewhat spotty legacy and swirling questions about its workability. She compares the noise to when she was launching "Spring Awakening" and people would wonder about how 1890 Germany with rock music and teenage sex would work.

"I think we're just really excited for people to see what we've been able to do. We're not ignoring the history of our show, but we just know what we have and I think that it will really all make a lot of sense once everyone gets to see it."

Michele and Mayer

The relationship between Michele and Mayer has evolved and deepened over the 25 or so years they've known each other. He says he's watched her grow up and no longer feels like a father figure. Now they're peers.

"I feel like we're not just colleagues, but we're dear friends. I would almost say we're family at this point," he says. "I met her when she was 14 years old. We've been in each other's lives for many, many years now. And being able to work together and have that sort of shorthand has been amazing."

To prove it, he mentions that he had an idea the night before about a big change he wanted to make. "Lea woke up at 3 o'clock this morning with an idea," he says. "We blurted it out to each other this morning at the start of rehearsal and it's the same idea."

Michele's mind drifts back to those days when she was a child at the Imperial Theatre. The other girls in her dressing room played songs from Broadway shows like "Miss Saigon" and "Bye Bye Birdie" — including one from "Chess" called "Heaven Help My Heart." Now it's one of her songs.

"Here we are 30 years later now back at the Imperial. So that's pretty crazy," she says.

'Frankenstein' (2025) -

Mary Shelley's book inspired Guillermo del Toro's sci-fi Gothic movie Frankenstein

The director changed the ending of the book to show the Creature's humanity

Frankenstein, starring Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi, premiered on Netflix on Nov. 7

Fans of Mary Shelley's iconic novel Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus might be leaving Guillermo del Toro's 2025 film adaptation a little surprised.

The sci-fi horror flick, which had its global premiere on Netflix Nov. 7, follows the turbulent life of scientist Victor Frankenstein (Oscar Isaac) as he embarks on an unorthodox experiment to create life after death.

The result is a monster known as the Creature (Jacob Elordi), a character whose own personal journey and quest for companionship has inspired a myriad of work since Shelley's inception of him in 1818.

While del Toro's adaptation of Frankenstein remains mostly loyal to its source material, the acclaimed director makes a daring choice to diverge from Shelley's book by the film's end, choosing to craft a finale laden with hope rather than tragedy.

So what does Frankenstein's ending mean? Here's everything to know about the film's finale and what Guillermo del Toro has said about its significance.

How does Frankenstein (2025) end?

Netflix

'Frankenstein' (2025)

Following the deaths of his brother William (Felix Kammerer) and his sister-in-law Elizabeth (Mia Goth), Victor vows vengeance on the Creature and dedicates the rest of his life to a merciless pursuit of him.

His hunt eventually leads him to the Arctic, where he's discovered wounded by a stranded troupe of sailors who offer him shelter on their trapped ship. While resting on the boat, Victor begins telling his story to the ship's captain, Anderson (Lars Mikkelsen), but is interrupted midway by the Creature, who has made it aboard.

Rather than destroy his creator, however, the Creature tells his side of his life's story and recounts the neglect and abuse he's faced at Victor's hands. The conversation prompts a moment of catharsis for Victor, who finally realizes how he's failed the Creature as his creator and subsequently as his father.

Victor quickly apologizes for his past cruelty and begs the Creature for his forgiveness in the film's final few moments. He also implores the Creature to keep living life as he is, before succumbing to his wounds and dying.

The Creature, finally at peace after having received the closure he needed from his creator, leaves the ship and helps push it out of the ice it was stuck in. As the boat sails away, the Creature quietly stares into the sunrise with a smile on his face.

How is Frankenstein's ending different from the book's ending?

Netflix

'Frankenstein' (2025)

While both Shelley's book and del Toro's Frankenstein end with Victor having told his story to a captain in the Arctic before being found by the Creature, how the stories conclude, and their impacts differ.

In the book, Victor finishes telling his story and vows to keep hunting the Creature, no matter what it takes, as a salve for his actions. But before being able to fulfill that promise, Victor dies while aboard the ship due to his poor health.

It is at that moment when the Creature finally arrives on board, only to discover that his creator is now dead. After mourning Victor's death, the Creature indicates that he now also plans to leave this life, and departs the ship to burn himself on a pyre.

Frankenstein's ending notably diverges from its source material in several ways. Firstly, the Creature in del Toro's adaptation is immortal and therefore unable to die. Secondly, and perhaps most glaringly, the Creature and Victor forgive each other at the film's end, unlike the book, which offers catharsis through death.

What does Frankenstein's ending mean?

Ken Woroner/Netflix

'Frankenstein' (2025)

The ending in del Toro's Frankenstein is evidently one of bittersweet hope.

With the onset of sunrise, the Creature has chosen to embrace and live his life fully despite all his broken — literal and symbolic — parts.

To drive the point further, del Toro ends Frankenstein with a quote from English poet Lord Byron's piece "Childe Harold's Pilgrimage" that reads, "The heart will break and yet brokenly live on."

Although the Creature finds catharsis at the end of both Shelley's text and del Toro's adaptation, one leans on a more tragic note, while the other offers a sense of hope befitting a modern retelling of Frankenstein, focused on the power of kindness and empathy.

By the film's conclusion, Victor has been able to break the pattern of generational abuse born from his troubled relationship with his father, Baron Leopold Frankenstein (Charles Dance), leaving the Creature to grow from that cycle of hurt.

What has del Toro said about Frankenstein's ending?

Netflix

'Frankenstein' (2025)

In an October 2025 interview with Man of Many, del Toro reflected on the film's divergence from the book's ending and pointed to the different themes that helped shape his decision.

"The movie has sort of a circular structure. It starts with the sun rising on the captain on the ship, and ends up with the sun rising on the Creature," the director explained. "And I thought, 'Well, if the idea is that he's going to live forever, can he still welcome the sun? Can he still welcome being alive?' "

"Imperfection is the condition of life," the Pan's Labyrinth director continued. "You will lead an imperfect life. And I think the movie makes peace with that and forgiveness and what it is to be human, which is to be capable of seeing the other," he noted, adding that these were the themes that propelled the movie toward a "different" image by its end.

"It's probably one of my most hopeful endings, in a strange way," he concluded.

"Diane was a tremendous actress," the *Nebraska* star began in a statement shared with *Entertainment* *Weekly*. Dern and Ladd were married from 1960 to 1969, and the two shared a daughter, Oscar-winning actress Laura Dern.

Bruce added in his remarks that he feels like his ex-wife, who starred in generation-defining films such as *Chinatown*, *Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore*, and *Wild at Heart*, was "a bit of a 'hidden treasure' until she ran into David Lynch. When he cast her as Laura's mom in *Wild at Heart* it felt like the world then really understood her brilliance."

The mother-daughter duo would go on to star together in films and on television numerous times over the years, with two of Ladd's three Best Supporting Actress Oscar nominations coming from collaborations with Laura: in *Rambling Rose *and *Wild at Heart*. Her third nomination was for *Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore*.

"She was a great value as a decades long board member of [the Screen Actors Guild], giving a real actress' point of view," Bruce's statement continued. "She lived a good life. She saw everything the way it was. She was a great teammate to her fellow actors. She was funny, clever, gracious."

The Oscar nominee ended his tribute, writing, "But most importantly to me, she was a wonderful mother to our incredible wunderkind daughter. And for that I will be forever grateful to her."

Double-jointedness can come in handy when you're a movie star.

Just ask Elle Fanning, who got to put this talent to good use in the sci-fi action thriller *Predator: Badlands, *where she played a synthetic human (synth, for short) named Thia, who happens to be missing the lower half of her body.

"I do have double-jointed elbows, which is kind of shown off in a couple scenes, which I am proud of," she tells **, adding, "Dan [Trachtenberg, director] loved that."

And that's not all Fanning can do. "I can also keep my eyes open for a very long time without blinking, and so I would like to say I did that myself," she says. "They did not do that with the computer. There's a scene where I have to look like I'm shut down, like a robot shut down, and I kept my eyes open. That was me."

Sitting next to Fanning during this interview is Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, who plays Dek, the film's young Predator. Outcast from his clan, Dek goes on a quest to prove himself with a treacherous first hunt on a remote alien planet, where he finds an unlikely ally in Thia. Schuster-Koloamatangi calls his costar a "hell of a performer," but admits to being freaked out by her more unusual talents.

"When she did her double-jointed thing, I remember looking over, I was sitting down just cooling off, and she was showing Dan, and I was looking like, wait, *what the hell just happened*?" he says, laughing. "*Did she just break her arms*? It was very practical."

How 'Predator: Badlands' director made a predator to 'fall in love' with, hints at 'Alien' connection

Dek (Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi) in 20th Century Studios' PREDATOR: BADLANDS film.

When Fanning first read the script, she says she had no idea how she was going to spend so much of the film using just her torso, but she credits Trachtenberg, whom she calls "a man with a plan," for figuring it all out. "Most of the time I had very stylish blue stockings on, and I was cut in half and had to learn how to walk on my hands," she explains. "But it was also in a robotic way because she does have a superhuman strength to her that she can walk fast, and she's not a human, so we were trying to figure out that physicality."

Thia also spends a lot of time strapped to Dek's back, which involved wires and a wheelbarrow attached to Schuster-Koloamatangi's hips that Fanning would sit in. But, at the end of the day, Fanning says she put all her faith in her director. "I really put my full trust into him, and to join the ranks of other actors who have played these iconic Weyland-Yutani synths and androids — it was pretty exciting for me. I'm a big fan of that world and that franchise," she says.

Balancing practical and visual effects was also a challenge when it came to the looks of the characters themselves. Surprisingly, both actors spent about the same amount of time in the hair and makeup chair — typically between an hour and an hour and a half — largely because Dek's face was mostly CGI.

"I was lucky enough, I only had to wear the prosthetic suit, so it came on limb by limb, and then we zipped everything up and covered it with the tunic," Schuster-Koloamatangi says of his day-to-day routine. "I had an open-face cowl, so I thank God I didn't have to sit in the chair for hours getting prosthetic makeup on. They kind of just left it as is to capture the performance. So it was only literally an hour."

The film also required both stars — especially Schuster-Koloamatangi — to speak an entirely new alien language, Yautja, which was created for the movie by linguist Britton Watkins. The costars admit that learning the language was one of the biggest challenges in making the film. "It's so interesting, I've never done anything where I have to pretend I completely understand what he's saying, but he's speaking in an entirely new language that was constructed for this film," Fanning says, before bragging on her costar, "Yautja, it's a true language that he is fluent in now."

According to Schuster-Koloamatangi, the most challenging aspect of the dialect is the clicking and vibration noises it requires, all of which he produced himself, much to his own surprise. "I thought it was going to be fake as well. I thought I could freestyle all my lines when they told me," he says with a laugh. "But yeah, it was a cool process, and I think it's such a cool detail for fans of the franchise. They've never had a language established within the Yautja culture that people can enjoy and have fun with and learn."

At this, Fanning cuts in to share that some fans have even started to slide into Schuster-Koloamatangi's DMs with some Yautja. "Yeah, it's crazy," he says. "I was like, wait, did you watch the film? How did you even? Did someone leak the film? I got scared [thinking] I leaked the film, and I was like, wait, no way. It's really cool for the fans, I think, that they have this to watch and enjoy, and have a little fun with themselves."

- Guillermo del Toro's long-gestating adaptation of *Frankenstein* is centered around the theme of forgiveness.

- Oscar Isaac, Mia Goth, and Jacob Elordi lead a high-profile cast.

- *Frankenstein *is now streaming on Netflix.

Oscar-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro has long been an admirer of Mary Shelley's *Frankenstein*, having spent years trying to bring his own adaptation of the Gothic masterpiece to life. After several stops and starts, del Toro's vision finally found a home at Netflix.

For del Toro, this *Frankenstein *is deeply personal. He's described the story as one of pain, regret, and especially forgiveness, the latter being inspired by a conversation with his father.

As he explained to **, it's about "forgiving someone and forgiving yourself into *being*." He added, "What you realize is a grudge takes two prisoners and forgiveness liberates two people." Reflecting on the timing, he said, "I thought I could make the movie, but then I went, *'No, thank God it didn't happen until now.'"*

After a theatrical run, *Frankenstein *is now streaming on Netflix. Below is an introduction to the cast of Frankenstein — who they're playing and where you've seen them before.

Oscar Isaac as Victor Frankenstein

Golden Globe winner Oscar Isaac is nothing if not versatile, with roles that include a struggling folkie in *Inside Llewyn Davis *(2013), a driven mayor on *Show Me a Hero *(2015), and a rebellious X-wing fighter pilot in the *Star Wars *sequel trilogy (2015–2019).

Isaac is also known for his roles on TV shows like *Scenes from a Marriage* (2021) and Marvel's *Moon Knight *(2022), as well as an array of blockbusters that include *X-Men: Apocalypse* (2016), *Annihilation* (2018), the *Spider-Verse* franchise (2018–present), and *Dune *(2021).

Coming up, Isaac will headline season 2 of the Emmy-winning Netflix series *Beef *alongside three-time Oscar nominee Carey Mulligan.

Isaac plays the lead role of Victor Frankenstein, the scientist who creates life from death. Christian Convery (*Sweet Tooth*, *Cocaine Bear*) appears as a young Victor.

Speaking with EW, Isaac hinted that his version of Victor Frankenstein will be much different than past depictions. The actor shared that fans will witness the doctor go through "an entire arc of a human life," adding, "He himself becomes much more of a monster and a creature by the end of it."

Jacob Elordi as The Creature

Jacob Elordi as The Creature in 'Frankenstein'

Ken Woroner/Netflix

Jacob Elordi first broke out in *The Kissing Booth* trilogy (2018–2021), but it was his turn as toxic high school jock Nate Jacobs on HBO's *Euphoria* (2019–present) that turned heads. He's since earned praise for his performance as Elvis Presley in Sofia Coppola's *Priscilla *(2023) and as Felix Catton in Emerald Fennell's *Saltburn *(2023).

Next up, Elordi will star opposite Margot Robbie in Fennell's *Wuthering Heights*.

Elordi takes on the role of The Creature, a.k.a. Frankenstein's monster, in del Toro's *Frankenstein*. According to the director, Elordi's connection to the monster ran deep.

"He said something to me that was touching and real: 'This creature is more me than me,'" del Toro recalled to EW. "He said, 'And people don't know that, and I'm going to be able to be myself through this.' He brought a truth to this performance that's really something to behold."

Mia Goth as Elizabeth Harlander and Claire Frankenstein

Mia Goth has earned her place as a scream queen thanks to breakout performances in Ti West's *X *trilogy (2022–2024), playing adult film star Maxine Minx and killer Pearl Douglas.

Next, she's set to star in two major projects: Christopher Nolan's *The Odyssey* and Shawn Levy's *Star Wars: Starfighter*.

In *Frankenstein*, Goth takes on two roles. The first is Elizabeth, William's fiancée. The other is Victor and William's late mother, Claire. Del Toro told *Elle* that he tailored the role of Elizabeth specifically for Goth after hearing her speak about motherhood and her desire to "care about another human being selflessly."

Felix Kammerer as William Frankenstein

Felix Kammerer is best known for his powerful debut as soldier Paul Bäumer in the Oscar-winning *All Quiet on the Western Front *(2022). Since then, Kammerer has appeared on the Netflix miniseries *All the Light We Cannot See *(2023) and in the historical survival drama *Eden *(2024), among other projects.

Here, Kammerer portrays William Frankenstein, Victor's younger brother and the "golden child." In an October 2025 interview with Numéro Netherlands, the actor described the experience as "a journey," especially working alongside Isaac.

"We brought those characters alive while interacting with each other," he said. "Sometimes it felt like they needed each other to really exist. You need William for Victor and you need Victor for William. Otherwise it wouldn't really work."**

Charles Dance as Baron Leopold Frankenstein

Charles Dance as Leopold Frankenstein and Christian Convery as young Victor Frankenstein in 'Frankenstein'

Charles Dance as Leopold Frankenstein and Christian Convery as young Victor Frankenstein in 'Frankenstein'.

Ken Woroner/Netflix

Throughout his long career, Charles Dance has played no shortage of imposing, calculating characters. With his unmistakable voice and commanding presence, Dance has left his mark on everything from and *Alien 3 *(1992) and *Michael Collins* (1996) to *Game of Thrones *(2011‍–‍2015) and *The Crown *(2019‍–‍2020).

Dance plays Baron Leopold Frankenstein, the father of Victor and William. Fun fact: Dance portrayed the very same character in 2015's *Victor Frankenstein.* In del Toro's version, however, the father-son dynamic takes a darker turn.

Rather than the "very kind, doting father" seen in previous adaptations, Isaac described this Baron to EW as "a very domineering father that's quite abusive but that expects so much of him. And in fact, somebody that Victor blames for the death of his beloved mother."

Christoph Waltz as Henrich Harlander

Christoph Waltz is a two-time Oscar winner for his roles in Quentin Tarantino's *Inglourious Basterds* (2009) and *Django Unchained* (2012).

Audiences might also recognize the veteran actor for playing the villainous Ernst Stavro Blofeld in the James Bond films *Spectre *(2015) and *No Time to Die* (2021), or as billionaire Sebastian "Bash" Steed in season 5 of *Only Murders in the Building *(2025).

Now, Waltz steps into the shoes of Henrich Harlander, a powerful and wealthy arms dealer who funds Victor's dangerous experiments.

Lars Mikkelsen as Captain Anderson

Lars Mikkelsen, the older brother of actor Mads Mikkelsen, rose to fame in Danish film and TV productions before being introduced to Western audiences with roles on *House of Cards *(2015–2018) and *The Witcher *(2019–present).

He's also a *Star Wars *staple, playing the calculating Grand Admiral Thrawn on *Star Wars Rebels *(2016–2018), *Ahsoka* (2023), and *Star Wars: Tales of the Empire *(2024).

In *Frankenstein*, Mikkelsen plays Captain Anderson, the captain who comes upon an ailing Victor Frankenstein in the Arctic.**

David Bradley as The Blind Man

Ken Woroner/Netflix

David Bradley's played baddies in two of the biggest franchise's of this century. He starred as Hogwarts caretaker Argus Filch in the *Harry Potter *films (2001–2011), and helped orchestrate the bloody Red Wedding as Lord Walder Frey on *Game of Thrones *(2011–2017).

He's also collaborated with del Toro before, voicing Geppetto in del Toro's Oscar-winning adaptation of *Pinocchio *(2022), as well as Merlin on the animated series *Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia *(2017–2018).

Bradley reunites with del Toro for *Frankenstein*, playing a character called The Blind Man. The actor told *Metro* that "there's a similarity" in *Pinocchio* and *Frankenstein*.

"It's someone who wants to play God creating a human being and then rejects it," he explained. "And in a way, that's what Geppetto did with Pinocchio, and that's what Frankenstein does with the Creature. So, it was nice to play someone on the other side of the fence who accepts him straight away because he can't see him."

Where can I watch Frankenstein?**
