The wait is finally over.

The San Antonio Spurs, who knocked off the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday, will host the New York Knicks in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on June 3. Tipoff is at 8:30 p.m.

The Knicks have had a lot of time to recover from bumps and bruises. They've been idle since ousting the Cleveland Cavaliers in a four-game sweep in series that ended May 25.

But that doesn't mean the Knicks will come in healthy. Their star center Mitchell Robinson broke the pinky on his right hand and underwent surgery to repair it. Reports say he plans on playing with a protective brace.

Spurs vs. Knicks this year

The Knicks went 1-1 against the Spurs this year. The Knicks won 114-89 on March 1, but fell to the Spurs 134-132 on New Year's Eve.

When was the last time the Knicks were in the Finals?

The Knicks were last in the NBA Finals in 1999 where they lost to the Spurs.

Knicks vs. Spurs prediction

The Knicks are the hottest team in the NBA, having not lost since Game 3 of the first round series against the Atlanta Hawks. But the West is a different world. The Spurs are the better team and have homecourt. It should go six or seven, but the Spurs will win the series. We'll say Spurs in six.

NEW YORK (AP) — Macy's reported its fourth consecutive quarter of comparable sales gains as the department store said an overhaul of its merchandise and better customer service is resonating with customers.

The New York company raised its outlook Wednesday and shares dipped less than 1% in midday trading.

“We're off to a strong start to the year,” said CEO Tony Spring, who is in the third year of an attempted turnaround of the storied retailer. “We're operating with discipline and focusing on what matters most — our customers.”

Comparable sales — sales at established online channels and stores— rose 3% during the first quarter. That was higher than the 1.8% gain during the final quarter of 2025 and it was the strongest first quarter for such sales in four years, the retailer said. Macy's stores posted a comparable sales increase of 1.6%, while the company's Bloomingdale's stores delivered a 10.2% increase, its highest first-quarter sales volume on record. Bluemercury, the cosmetics chain also owned by Macy's had a 6.4% comparable sales gain.

It’s the latest encouraging sign for Macy’s, which had been mired in a yearslong sales slump. Under Spring, who took over the top job in early 2024, Macy’s has closed unprofitable stores and spent millions modernize others. The company has beefed up customer service. It’s also been trying to differentiate its luxury business from its rivals with exclusive merchandise.

Some of the outsized performance at Bloomingdales has been attributed by retail analysts to the Chapter 11 bankruptcy of Saks Global, the parent company of Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus.

Still, Macy’s is contending with the same challenges faced by its the retailer sector as a whole.

U.S. retailers have spent months navigating an uncertain economic environment, from President Donald Trump’s tariffs to the impact of soaring gasoline prices due to the Iran war. The average price for a gallon of regular gasoline has been above $4 per gallon since March, according to according to AAA. A gallon costs 40% more than than it did before the war. The latest batch of earnings reports from major retailers underscore how shoppers are under increasing financial strain as they try to factor in higher prices for gasoline, groceries, utilities and almost everything else.

Spring told The in a phone call Wednesday that the company is closely monitoring events given the uncertainty about the U.S. economy, but there's been no noticeable pullback in customer spending since gas prices started rising.

He reasons that Macy's improved assortment and perceived value are landing with customers. There have been strong sales in prom dresses, men's shoes, dresses and fragrances. Spring, however, noted disappointing furniture sales with shoppers continuing to put off purchases of big ticket items.

“Despite the choiceful consumer, despite all the things that are going on that we read about every day in terms of the geopolitical, macroeconomic environment, fashion and newness and the consumer’s desire to indulge is still happening,” Spring told The AP. “And we’re very pleased that we are taking share.”

Spring said that higher-income shoppers continue to spend freely, boosted by gains in the stock market, while the middle income shopper has remained more selective. He said lower-income customers continue to struggle but are focusing on Macy's designated areas for heavily discounted merchandise.

Macy’s reported net income of $63 million, or 23 cents per share, in the quarter ended May 2. Adjusted earnings per share was 13 cents, a dime better than Wall Street had expected, according to FactSet.

That compares with a $38 million profit, or 13 cents per share, in the year-ago period.

Net sales rose to $4.68 billion from $4.6 billion in the year-ago period. Revenue this quarter also edged out projections on Wall Street.

The company now expects annual net sales of between $21.5 billion and $21.75 billion, up from previous guidance of $21.4 billion to $21.65 billion in March. Macy’s upped its projections for comparable sales, saying on Wednesday that they will likely increase between 0.5% and 1.2%. The company in March predicted a decline of 0.5% to a gain of 0.5%.

It also now anticipates adjusted earnings per share for the year to be in the range of $2 to $2.20, up from its previous guidance of $1.90 to $2.10 per share.

For the full fiscal year, analysts were expecting $2.09 in adjusted earnings per share on revenue of $21.6 billion, according to FactSet analysts.

In 2005, I went to the bathroom of my dentist's office in midtown and did the one thing the dentist told me not to. I smiled at myself in the mirror and looked at my teeth. Or rather, what was left of them. I was midway through having porcelain veneers placed on my front four teeth to replace old composite bonding that kept chipping, which meant I was at the point where my natural teeth had been filed down to corn-sized nubs. Yes, it was as horrifying as it sounds.

I don't remember the dentist mentioning that part of the process. Nor do I remember her giving me a preview of what my teeth would look like with the finished veneers (they turned out fine, but not great). And I definitely don't remember her telling me that veneers don't last forever and two decades later, I might experience something called “leakage,” which happens when the bonding material that seals the veneer to your tooth deteriorates and creates a gap at the gumline that becomes discolored from saliva, bacteria and food. Well, it did happen — and now it was time to replace my veneers.

Since I got my veneers done 20 years ago, the technology has improved both the process and your results. Unless your natural teeth are significantly stained or damaged, veneers now require minimal prep, meaning no more nubs. Plus, scanning technology, digital mockups and 3D printing allow dentists to create super-customized results with incredible accuracy. Still, veneers have a reputation problem.

Last year, Alix Earle posted an emotional video on TikTok where she said she “instantly regretted” getting veneers. And other influencers, reality stars and even A-listers get dragged for having bulky, bright-white “chiclets.” So while I was hesitant to embark on my own veneer journey, I didn't really have a choice (remember, “leakage”). The key to getting the smile of your dreams starts with the dentist. If you're going to spend tens of thousands of dollars to cement porcelain into your mouth for the next 15 or so years, you need to trust the person doing it.

After an extensive Instagram deep dive, I landed on Dr. Stephanie Dumanian, of Park Lex 60 Dental. She's a self-described perfectionist with impressive credentials that include continuing education courses in aesthetics (she's even taken courses for lab technicians to understand exactly how it works on their end), incredible before-and-after photos, and an enviable collection of headbands. (I respect a woman who knows how to accessorize scrubs.)

My original plan was to veneer only my front six teeth, which I assumed would give me the most bang for my buck. But I quickly learned that when it comes to cosmetic dentistry, a “deal” can sometimes mean the practitioner isn't being fully honest about what they can — and can't — accomplish.

In my initial consultation with Dr. Dumanian, she asked what I wanted to achieve with new veneers — an enhanced version of my existing smile or something totally different? (I said I wanted to look like Gisele, duh.) She was able to pinpoint that what I wanted was to make my smile appear wider. My palate is so narrow that another dentist once charmingly described my smile as a “black hole” because you can't see beyond my front teeth when I smile. She presented two options: embark on a painful-sounding orthodontic procedure to open up my palatal suture or get a full set of 12 veneers. I immediately ruled out the first but I wasn't sold on the second either. If all but my front four teeth were healthy and looked fine, why would I mess with them?

She explained that the more veneers she does, the further back in my mouth she can go, meaning she can actually alter the profile of my smile and give me the wider look that I want. And while doing the front teeth is more cost-effective, I would get what she calls a “seam of a smile,” meaning while my natural teeth change in color over time, the veneers will stay the same. Plus, only doing my front six teeth would create proportional issues, so the results wouldn't look harmonious. In other words, there was no bang for my buck to be had here.

It all made sense, but I still wasn't ready to commit to the next appointment. I couldn't stop thinking about how Alix Earle said, “If you're thinking about doing anything to your teeth, this is your sign to not do it and to embrace your natural teeth. Don't follow my lead on this one.” However, Earle also admitted that her decision was “made pretty fast and I just didn't think it all the way through, or, I think, talk to enough people,” whereas my approach was anything but rushed. I had made multiple trips to Dr. Dumanian's office for dozens of photos, scans, and moldings of my smile and bite. She used a liquid composite to create an initial mockup for me to try out in the office. I took a few photos and while I liked how aligned and white the teeth themselves looked, something felt off.

I explained that “something” was bothering me but I couldn't explain exactly what it was. Dr. Dumanian somehow took my incredibly vague feedback and made a few tweaks to the image of my trial smile. As soon as she sent it to me I knew we nailed it. The next step was a provisional set of veneers that I wore for two weeks while her ceramist hand-crafted the porcelain version.

The veneer process requires time and patience. You should plan for around five appointments in total that look something like this: 1. A consultation to discuss what you're hoping to achieve with your smile 2. Measurements, photos, scans, etc. 3. Prep teeth and put on provisionals 4. Remove provisionals and put on veneers 5. A follow-up to make sure your bite is properly aligned and no additional modifications are needed.

As for the cost, it's a lot. Depending on where you live, porcelain veneers can run $1,500 to $5,000 per tooth. I asked Dr. Dumanian why veneers are so expensive. “You're paying for the doctor's knowledge and artistic eye because anyone can deliver a veneer, but do they understand what works and what doesn't aesthetically?” she said. She also explained that a lot of the cost is the time and expertise that goes into the renderings, which she compared to an architect's blueprint. “They don't just tell you what they're doing then let your imagination run wild. They're going to ground you with a rendering, which requires additional time and steps.”

Then there's the quality of the veneers themselves. “All of my veneers are handmade and hand-layered by a ceramist, and that's what's going to give it that natural, more translucent look,” says Dr. Dumanian. Five appointments and all my money later, it was worth it. Like most people getting a cosmetic procedure, my goal was to look like me, only better. My smile is noticeably wider and brighter, but you wouldn't know immediately that I “did something.” In fact, my coworkers were like, “you have veneers?!” when I told them I was writing this story and that's exactly what Dr. Dumanian wants to hear.

“That's how you know you have good veneers,” she says. “ It's the same way you get a nose job. How do you know you had a good nose job? No one can tell. How do you know you had a good boob job? No one can tell.” And I'm happy to share that when I had to go to the bathroom mid-process with my tiny teeth exposed, the hygienist handed me a mask and said, “Don't take it off.” This time, I listened.

Susan Boyle's shocking makeover explained as the star takes center stage atop a bridge.

The performer sang about "going commando" in a new ad for IRN-BRU beverages.

Boyle and others sang about Scotland pride in the comical ad.

Susan Boyle's mystery makeover has finally been explained — and you'll never guess where the Britain's Got Talent breakout's headline-making, sharp blonde wig took the singer as part of a new commercial campaign.

After the secretive singer spent the last week courting speculation with a stunning new look that saw her sport a wardrobe of chic clothing, an intense blonde wig, and the promise of a "new era" ahead, Scottish beverage company IRN-BRU has finally revealed the reason behind the "I Dreamed a Dream" performer's radical transformation.

In the new commercial (below), Boyle joins a legion of Scottish citizens to express regional pride through a comical song that touches on everything from Scotland's World Cup return to fried hot dogs — and even sees Boyle sing about "going commando" atop a bridge, all before she breakdances amid the Scottish landscape.

"The Tartan Army is finally back after 28 years of frustration," one of the actors in the clip sings at the top of the song, before the ad spans various comedic bits pertaining to Scottish culture, and even includes another cameo from soccer player John McGinn.

Near the end of the tune, a performer tees up Boyle's feature, and the camera cuts to the 65-year-old sensation belting the song while perched on top of Edinburgh’s Forth Bridges area.

"We may not be the pundits' favorite to win, but what we lack in flair is made up with McGinn," Boyle sings with pride for the soccer team, all while she wears a glistening blue dress and her blonde wig blows in the Scottish breeze. "We're gonna deep fry your hot dogs. We're the Tartan Army! Let's all go commando! No Scotland, no party!"

In the next scene, Boyle then breakdances in front of a crowd, before the song's grand finale unites her with the other stars of the project.

Boyle further opened up to local radio station Capital Scotland in a recent interview, during which she spoke about preparing for the commercial shoot.

"I had to do a bit of push-ups and stuff. Which was a sight to see," Boyle joked about the breakdancing scene, for which a stunt double was used. "I don't know how I managed it!"

Get your daily dose of entertainment news, celebrity updates, and what to watch with our EW Dispatch newsletter.

In addition to the IRN-BRU ad, Boyle has also teased a new song, "Just One," made in collaboration with regional sweets company Cornetto. Boyle has since dubbed her new uptick in output as "SUBO Summer" on the verge of a comeback, as she hasn't released a full-length album since 2016, and opened up in recent years about having a 2022 stroke that led to a temporary hiatus from public life.

Watch Boyle breakdance and sing about "going commando" in the Scotland-centric IRN-BRU commercial in the video above.

Taylor Swift is proving once again that effortless dressing can still make a rather unforgettable style statement. In a photo shared recently with none other than Disney CEO Bob Iger, the singer embraced understated luxury in a relaxed Miu Miu shirt. Further, Swift paired the partially unbuttoned shirt with tailored pleated trousers. The laid-back silhouette felt worlds away from her glittering stage looks. However, it carried the polished sophistication that has become a signature part of her off-duty style. The whole look worked perfectly for her toned frame.

The beloved Grammy winner looked amazing when she met up with Bob Iger, the celebrated Disney CEO. For this occasion, Taylor Swift opted for a grey gingham Miu Miu shirt, worn slightly unbuttoned at the collar. This ended up creating an easy, undone effect. The sleeves were also folded up, elevating the ensemble’s relaxed vibe. Furthermore, Swift paired the piece with high-waisted pleated pants in a coordinating neutral shade, which worked very well with the outfit.

This way, she kept the overall look sleek, comfortable, and quietly chic. The neutral shades of Swift’s look also worked amazingly against her flawless complexion. She also added minimal accessories, such as gold hoop earrings and a matching sleek bracelet, to complete the outfit without distracting from its refined simplicity. She also styled her locks into well-set, soft waves, making her gorgeous face look even prettier.

Further, Swift went with a blurred-out makeup base with blushed cheeks, mascara-laden eyeshadows, and her signature classic red lip, which rounded out the whole look to pure perfection. The appearance also highlights Swift’s ongoing affinity for Miu Miu. Over the past few years, the Italian fashion house has become a recurring favorite in her wardrobe, from coordinated plaid sets to pleated skirts and everyday separates.
