There's more action on the way for Kayce Dutton. The Luke Grimes-starring Yellowstone spinoff Marshals only debuted two weeks ago, but fans are obviously eager for more, because CBS has already announced that the series will be getting a second season.
The news that Marshals won't be a one-and-done doesn't come as a complete shock, as the series had a built-in fan-following from Yellowstone and garnered major rating numbers in its premiere week, racking up nearly 10 million viewers in its debut—a number that more than doubled during it first week, once streaming and delayed viewers were accounted for. Nonetheless, such an early pickup is an unusual move and a big endorsement from the network.

"Marshals delivered a breakout performance, capturing a massive audience across platforms and quickly establishing itself as one of TV's most powerful new series," CBS Entertainment president Amy Reisenbach said in a statement. "The overwhelming viewer response speaks to the strength of the Yellowstone world, the bold character driven storytelling from the creative team and the dynamic cast performances led by Luke Grimes."
On Marshals, Grimes returns to the role of Kayce Dutton, the formerly estranged son of Yellowstone's John Dutton (played on that series by Kevin Costner.) Having sold off his family's famous ranch, Kayce opens a new chapter of his life by joining a team of U.S. Marshals to bring some law and order to the rugged landscape of Montana—in true Dutton fashion, of course. The series also starsYellowstone cast members Brecken Merrill, Gil Birmingham, and Mo Brings Plenty along with Dutton-verse newcomers Logan Marshall-Green, Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, and Tatanka Means.
