There's no question that grunge was starting to take over the music scene back in the early '90s, but the days of hair metal weren't quite over yet. That's why when FireHouse released their self-titled debut album in 1990, it was a critical and commercial success...the band even won the American Music Award for Best New Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Band in 1992 (beating out Nirvana and Alice in Chains).
Now, 35 years after their popular power ballad "Love of a Lifetime" became a chart-topping hit, the band is hitting the road again. As Ultimate Classic Rock reported, FireHouse is kicking off their 2026 tour in Ft. Yates, North Dakota on Feb. 7 and currently have gigs booked through April 18 in Harper's Ferry, West Virginia (a full list of dates can be found on the band's website). Some very special hard-rocking guests will also make appearances on FireHouse's upcoming jaunt, including Warrant, Steelheart, Lita Ford and Mike Tramp's White Lion.
FireHouse's current lineup includes founding members Bill Leverty on guitar and Michael Foster on drums, alongside longtime bassist Allen McKenzie and singer Nate Peck (who became original singer CJ Snare's permanent replacement following his death from cancer in 2024).
FireHouse was influenced by classic rock icons
In an interview with Classic Bands, Leverty opened up about the artists who influenced FireHouse, particularly when its members were coming up in cover bands.

"I really like The Scorpions," Leverty said, adding, "They were one of my favorite bands."
"I also played the Led Zeppelin stuff," he continued. "I gravitated more towards the guitar artists of Classic Rock. Anything Eddie Van Halen was doing I was trying to cover, Randy Rhoads, Ozzy Osbourne stuff. I was doing UFO. Whatever was a hit at the time that was in the hard rock, melodic rock genre, we played those songs too. That's what the audience wanted to hear and that's what we enjoyed playing. If all that stuff aligned, we would do it. That would include bands like Def Leppard, Krokus, Judas Priest, Motley Crue, but I also liked to go back to Blue Oyster Cult. Some of the bands that were formative years influences."
Decades later, the members of FireHouse are still taking those early influences and turning them into new music. Last year, the band released their single with Peck on vocals, "Mighty Fine Lady."
