Raven-Symoné, who is most well-known for her roles in That's So Raven and Raven's Home on the Disney Channel, shared her thoughts on her former co-star Bill Cosby and the crimes he is accused of in an enlightening new interview.
While sitting down with Jamie Kennedy for an episode of his podcast called Hate to Break It to Ya, the host asked Raven-Symoné about her thoughts on Cosby, whom she acted with in The Cosby Show in the 1980s, after the "horrific" assault allegations and following criminal trial happened.
"Separate the creator from the creation," Raven-Symoné boldly declared. "You have to because the creation changed America. Changed television."
The actress went on to acknowledge the accusations, but she felt that they should be thought of as separate from his acting work, saying, "He also has been accused of some horrific things. And that does not excuse – but that's his personal [situation]."
"So personally, keep that there, and then business-wise know what he did there as well, and like you said, both can live," she concluded.

While the first accusations of sexual assault against Cosby happened as early as the 1980s, they finally got major attention in 2014, with over 60 women coming forward accusing the actor of serious sexual crimes. A lot of the alleged crimes were outside of the statute of limitations at this point, but in 2015, Cosby was charged in Pennsylvania with three counts of aggravated indecent assault on Andrea Constand.
A first trial in 2017 ended with a mistrial, while the second trial in early 2018 led a jury to convict Cosby of all three felony charges. Cosby tried to appeal the decision, and while the conviction was upheld in late 2019, it was later overturned by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. This decision was based on an agreement Cosby had with a former prosecutor who promised not to prosecute him, which the court ruled violated his due process rights. He was released from prison in June 2021.
Along with the criminal trial, Cosby has faced numerous civil suits related to sexual assault accusations, such as the case brought against him by Judy Huth, with a civil jury finding him liable for sexual assault and ordering him to pay her $500,000, as reported by The New York Times. There are still ongoing civil cases against him.
