STOCKHOLM (AP) — Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin scored a little over two minutes apart in the first period to help the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Nashville Predators 4-0 on Sunday to split their NHL's Global Series in Sweden's capital.

The Penguins bounced back from a 2-1 loss to the Predators in the opener of the two-game series on Friday and snapped a three-game skid. Rookie goaltender Sergei Murashov stopped 21 shots for his first victory in his second NHL start.

After Parker Wotherspoon put the Penguins up 1-0, Malkin doubled the lead 8:08 in when his pass from behind the goal line was deflected into the net by Nashville defenseman Nicolas Hague. The 39-year-old Malkin scored his team's only goal Friday.

Malkin and Crosby lead Pittsburgh in scoring. Malkin has 23 points and Crosby 21.

Crosby, 38, one-timed a shot from the left circle past the midway point of the first to make it 3-0, scoring his 12th goal of the season and 637th of his career. Blake Lizotte finished it off with an empty netter with 2:48 left.

Nashville goaltender Juuse Saros allowed three goals on 21 shots.

The NHL has played games in Europe since 2008 as part of its efforts to grow the fan base in hockey-mad countries like Sweden, Finland, the Czech Republic and others. This was the league's 48th regular-season game outside North America.

The Penguins and Predators again split an international series, after doing so at the start of the 2000-01 regular season in Japan.

The Penguins returned to Stockholm for the first time since 2008 when they faced Ottawa, before winning the Stanley Cup to cap off that season. Crosby, Malkin and defenseman Kris Letang were all on that team. They are currently in their 20th season as teammates with the Penguins.

Predators: Host the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.

Penguins: Host the Minnesota Wild on Friday.

The New York Knicks will be a little shorthanded over the coming weeks, right as they embark on a lengthy road trip. Starting forward OG Anunoby is reportedly out with a left hamstring strain and will be re-evaluated in two weeks, per ESPN's Sham Charania.

The team is already without starting guard Jalen Brunson, who is day-to-day with an ankle sprain. Brunson suffered the injury during New York's win over the Miami Heat on Friday.

Anunoby, now in his second full season with the Knicks, has emerged as a key player on both ends of the court for New York. He's been averaging 15.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game. He also averages 1.9 steals and 0.7 blocks per game on the defensive side.

Between Anunoby and Brunson, who leads the team with an average of 28 points per game, the Knicks will be without two key scorers for a tough road trip. New York is set to play five straight away games before returning home for an NBA Cup game on Black Friday. One of those games is against the cross-town rival Brooklyn Nets on Nov. 24.

New York is 8-4, a record that puts the Knicks near the top of the Eastern Conference. Of the seven opponents the Knicks will face during Anunoby's expected absence, only the Milwaukee Bucks sit in the top half of the league.

MONTREAL (AP) — Montreal Canadiens forward Kirby Dach will miss the next four to six weeks because of a fractured foot, the team announced Sunday.

In a corresponding move, the team recalled forward Joshua Roy from its American Hockey League affiliate, the Laval Rocket.

The injury is the latest in a string of them for the Canadiens.

Montreal announced the losses of forward Alex Newhook and defenseman Kaiden Guhle for the long term on Friday after both had surgery.

Newhook underwent a procedure on his right ankle Friday and is expected to miss four months. Guhle had surgery Thursday on a partially torn adductor muscle and is expected to miss eight to 10 weeks.

Dach had five goals and two assists in 15 games this season.

PHILADELPHIA − Standing outside Independence Hall, the building in which America's forebears signed the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, even iconic documentarian Ken Burns can't help but make a reference to everybody's favorite musical about the American Revolution.

"That's the room where it happened," Burns said, bobbing his head in the direction of the historic building.

To those unfamiliar, Burns was quoting the most famous song from "Hamilton," Lin Manuel Miranda's smash-hit, Pulitzer-winning Broadway musical about founding father Alexander Hamilton that exploded onto the scene a decade ago and shows no signs of slowing down its cultural dominance, with sold-out shows in New York and a recent release in movie theaters. Burns, whose huge body of work has done quite a bit in the way of teaching history to Americans, can't say enough good things about what "Hamilton" has done for our collective appreciation of history.

Ken Burns and Lin Manuel Miranda at an event for "The American Revolution" at Trinity Church in New York City on November 12, 2025.

"It's done one of the greatest services to history you could possibly imagine," Burns says. "I have a 15-year-old, almost 15-year-old granddaughter and a 20-year-old daughter. They can all recite the entire 2 1/2 hours from memory. And so they know the differences between Hamilton and Jefferson. They understand the hypocrisy of slavery in the midst of people freeing themselves. They understand a lot of nuances about it that I don't think they would have gotten from a traditional education."

More: What Ken Burns wants you to know about 'The American Revolution' will shock you

The filmmaker will be telling the story from the same period of history in his documentary epic "The American Revolution," debuting on PBS Nov. 16 (8 ET/PT, check your local listings). He and Miranda joined forces — and swapped compliments — at a recent event to promote the documentary at Trinity Church in New York City, where Hamilton is buried.

Lin Manuel Miranda in his last Broadway performance in "Hamilton" in July 2016.

"I'm in awe of your life's work and I'm so glad you've tackled this subject," Miranda said at the event.

The documentary will air over six consecutive nights on PBS, telling the story from the lead up to the Revolutionary War to victory at Yorktown and the formation of the United States, a complex and nuanced story that features a certain young soldier and financier known as Alexander Hamilton, among many other historical figures.

As big as his 12-hour film is and as much press as he is currently getting, Burns thinks "Hamilton" is bigger than anything he's done this century. Or anything anybody else has done.

"It's one of the great cultural phenomenons of the last 25 years."

It's no magic trick: The third installment in the thieving magician "Now You See Me" series beat the high-profile action pic "The Running Man" at the North American box office this weekend. Lionsgate's "Now You See Me: Now You Don't" pulled in $21.3 million, while Paramount's "The Running Man" made $17 million, according to studio estimates Sunday.

"Now You See Me: Now You Don't," which cost a reported $90 million to produce, comes almost 10 years after the second film. Including ticket sales from 64 international territories, its worldwide opening is estimated to be around $75.5 million. Going into the weekend, it was expected to be a closer race between the two newcomers.

The first two movies in the "Now You See Me" series, released in 2013 and 2016, earned over $686 million worldwide. This installment, directed by Ruben Fleischer, sees the return of the original "Four Horsemen," Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher and Dave Franco, and introduces three younger magicians into the mix: Dominic Sessa, Ariana Greenblatt and Justice Smith. A fourth film is already in the works.

Reviews were mixed on Rotten Tomatoes, coming in at 59%. According to PostTrak polling, audiences were a bit more positive, with 63% saying they would definitely recommend.

Audience scores were slightly less for "The Running Man," which had a 58% "definitely recommend." Both earned a B+ CinemaScore, but more people chose the franchise. One key difference is that women made up more of the "Now You See Me" audience (54%). They only accounted for 37% of "The Running Man" ticket buyers.

Edgar Wright directed and co-wrote "The Running Man," the second adaptation of Stephen King's novel, first published in 1982. The first film starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and was released in 1987 to mixed reviews and a tepid box office, earning only $38 million against a $27 million budget. The new version stars Glen Powell, who has had a good track record starring in box office hits, from the romantic comedy "Anyone But You" to "Twisters."

Paramount Pictures released "The Running Man" in 3,400 domestic locations and 58 international markets. Worldwide, it earned $28.2 million against a reported $110 million budget.

The weekend's other new opener, "Keeper," the third feature from "Longlegs" filmmaker Oz Perkins, cratered with $2.6 million and a D+ CinemaScore. But as an acquisition title for Neon, it's also not a disaster.

Third place went to "Predator: Badlands" with $13 million in its second weekend, followed by "Regretting You" in fourth with $4 million. "Black Phone 2" rounded out the top five with $2.7 million, bringing its domestic total to $74.7 million after five weeks in theaters.

In anticipation of the big budget musical "Wicked: For Good," which opens next week, Universal Pictures put "Wicked" back in 2,195 theaters, where it made $1.2 million — barely missing a spot in the top 10.

The box office should pick up considerably when "Wicked 2" blows into theaters, followed by "Zootopia 2" before the Thanksgiving holiday. Comscore's Paul Dergarabedian said it could be one of the highest grossing five-day Thanksgiving frames of all time.
