Bo Jackson ran for 112 yards and a touchdown and James Peoples rushed for two scores when No. 1 Ohio State won 48-10 against overwhelmed and undermanned UCLA in Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday.

Julian Sayin completed his first 11 passes for 100 yards and guided the Buckeyes (10-0, 7-0 Big Ten) on scoring drives of 8, 11 and 12 plays for a 17-0 lead midway through the second quarter. It only got worse for the Bruins, who trailed 27-0 at the half en route to their third consecutive defeat.

Sayin completed 22 of 31 passes for 184 yards and a touchdown in three quarters.

UCLA (3-7, 3-4) quarterback Nico Iamaleava, the Bruins' leading rusher, did not play due to a concussion, the school announced.

Redshirt sophomore Luke Duncan made his first career start and was 16 of 23 for 154 yards and a TD. His 51-yard pass to Rico Flores to the 19 late in the third quarter was the first time UCLA crossed midfield.

Two plays later, Duncan connected with Kwazi Gilmer for an 18-yard touchdown to make it 34-7.

Ohio State immediately responded with its first kickoff return for a TD in 15 years when Lorenzo Styles Jr. went 100 yards. It was also its first kick return of 100 yards since Ted Ginn in 2005.

Jackson's 1-yard scoring run midway through the opening quarter made it 7-0. Peoples had a highlight-reel 19-yard TD run with 1:16 left in the half when he hurdled Cole Martin at the 10 and kept his balance along the right sideline to make it 24-0.

After UCLA punter Will Karoll shanked a punt behind the line of scrimmage at his own 14, Jayden Fielding kicked a 33-yard field goal with one second left before halftime.

The Buckeyes, who finished with 222 rushing yards, totaled 294 yards and 16 first downs in the first half compared to 50 yards and two first downs for UCLA.

Ohio State receiver Jeremiah Smith, listed as questionable before the game, had four catches for 40 yards and did not play in the second half. Teammate and fellow receiver Carnell Tate missed a second straight game with an undisclosed injury.

Late Friday night, perhaps even into the wee hours of Saturday morning, Mike Elko and Texas A&M finalized a new contract for the coach.

And then, a few hours later, his third-ranked Aggies fell into a 27-point hole at home against lowly South Carolina.

Bad timing?

Well, Elko and Co. made sure that the announcement of his big new deal wasn't completely spoiled. They mounted the biggest comeback in school history, storming back for a 31-30 win over South Carolina by scoring touchdowns on four consecutive drives in a span of 15 minutes of game time — a stretch in which QB Marcel Reed threw for more than 300 yards.

The remarkable effort pushed the Aggies to 10-0 and Elko to 18-5 in his second season at the school. Speaking of Elko, he'll be making more than $11 million annually as part of the new six-year contract.

More importantly, the contract secures his place in Aggieland during one of the craziest coaching cycles in history. Plenty of schools took an interest in Elko, most notably Penn State, where the coach has a deep connection. He apparently declined the interest from the Nittany Lions and got himself a $3-4 million raise in the process.

Texas A&M's victory made the SEC championship game race even that much more murky, especially after Oklahoma stunned Alabama in Tuscaloosa (goodbye, Tide, from our Top 10; and hello, Sooners!). The Aggies control their own destiny: Beat Texas in two weeks and you're in. As for everyone else, well, there could be a bunch of teams locked at one loss, including Alabama, Ole Miss and Georgia. Tiebreaker time! Either way, we won't know who will play in Atlanta until the results of the final Saturday.

What's going on in the other conference races?

Well, Indiana and Ohio State are on a crash course for the Big Ten title. Same goes for Texas Tech in the Big 12. In the ACC, there's a logjam of four one-loss teams.

Meanwhile, the non-power league playoff race got interesting on Saturday when Navy beat South Florida, opening the door for Tulane, North Texas and JMU to squeak into the postseason tournament.

Speaking of the playoff, Michigan survived in Wrigley Field against Northwestern to keep its hopes alive, Notre Dame pummeled Pitt to stay in position for an at-large berth and USC rallied against Iowa to move to 8-2.

Let's get to the Top 10!

1. Indiana Hoosiers

This week: beat Wisconsin 31-7

Next week: at Purdue

The Hoosiers turned a 10-7 halftime lead into a second-half blowout as QB Fernando Mendoza carved through the Badgers secondary for 299 yards on 22-of-24 passing. For the first time ever, Indiana is 11-0 and Curt Cignetti is now 22-2 at the school — a remarkable and historic run. A bye week comes next before the annual rivalry class with the in-state Boilermakers and then a titanic clash with Ohio State in the Big Ten championship game.

Best win: 30-20 at Oregon

2. Ohio State Buckeyes

This week: beat UCLA 48-10

Next week: vs. Rutgers

The backups got in pretty early in this one. Are the Buckeyes ever going to be challenged in a tight fourth quarter game? Freshman RB Bo Jackson broke 100 yards again and OSU jumped out to a 34-0 lead.

Best wins: 14-7 vs. Texas

3. Texas A&M Aggies

This week: beat South Carolina 31-30

Next week: vs. Samford

You read plenty about the big comeback in our rankings intro above. But you can never write too much about the fact that a team climbed out of a 27-point hole. The A&M offense did plenty, but the Aggies' defense did wonders. South Carolina had five second-half drives. Three ended in punts and two on failed fourth downs.

Best win: 41-40 at Notre Dame

4. Georgia Bulldogs

This week: beat Texas 35-10

Next week: vs. Charlotte

QB Gunner Stockton threw four touchdowns and the Bulldogs suffocated Texas to the tune of less than 30 yards rushing — an all-around stellar performance from Kirby Smart's D. Texas didn't get into the end zone until late in the third quarter.

Best win: 43-35 vs. Ole Miss

5. Ole Miss Rebels

This week: beat Florida 34-24

Next week: Off

Lane Kiffin and the Rebels had to sweat this one out against the 3-6 Gators. Good thing they had RB Kewan Lacy, who had more than 200 yards on 30 carries as Ole Miss locked up a playoff spot ahead of the Egg Bowl.

Best win: 34-26 at Oklahoma

6. Texas Tech Red Raiders

This week: beat UCF 48-9

Next week: Off

At one point, the Red Raiders led 38-2. Tech's offseason investment is paying off (have you heard that one before?). But the Red Raiders go beyond just cash and talent. They are sound, well-coached and have a direct path to Dallas for the Big 12 title game — a playoff ticket-punching event for coach Joey McGuire and Co.

Best win: 34-10 at Utah

7. Oregon Ducks

This week: beat Minnesota 42-13

Next week: vs. USC

The banged-up Ducks played without several of their top receivers, but it didn't matter. QB Dante Moore threw just three incomplete passes against a Gophers defense that entered as one of the nation's best. Oregon is two wins away from securing a playoff spot. Standing in the way is a home game against the Trojans and a road trip to Seattle.

Best win: 34-24 vs. USC

8. Oklahoma Sooners

This week: beat Alabama 23-21

Next week: vs. Missouri

The Sooners had four sacks and turned three turnovers into 17 points to take down Alabama, handing coach Kalen DeBoer his first home loss in Tuscaloosa and his first defeat while wearing the vaunted "black hoodie of death." OU, despite two losses, finds itself in prime position to get into the playoff as an at-large selection. Missouri and LSU await at home in Norman.

Best win: 24-13 vs. Michigan

9. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

This week: beat Pitt 37-15

Next week: vs. Syracuse

The Irish failed to live up to Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi's expectations. He half-jokingly said the Irish could hang 100 on his team and it wouldn't matter! Well, they didn't get there, but they did more than enough to batter the Panthers. RB Jeremiyah Love ran for 147, including a 56-yard touchdown, and the Irish defense held Pitt to 219 total yards.

Best win: 34-24 vs. USC

10. USC Trojans

This week: beat Iowa 26-21

Next week: at Oregon

A chilly and rainy day in Los Angeles would seem to favor the Hawkeyes and, for a while, it certainly did. The Trojans needed a second-half rally — and 154 yards from WR Makai Lemon — in the rain to overcome a two-touchdown first-half deficit and salvage any playoff hopes. Next up: the mighty Ducks in Eugene.

Best win: 31-13 vs. Michigan

Dropped: Alabama (4), Texas (10)

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — Kewan Lacy rushed for 224 yards and three touchdowns, including the go-ahead score on the first play of the fourth quarter, and No. 6 Mississippi rallied past Florida 34-24 on Saturday night.

The Rebels (10-1, 6-1 Southeastern Conference, No. 7 CFP) finally put the Gators away with 1:43 left on Lacy's 31st and final carry, a 4-yard touchdown. Ole Miss took over on downs after Florida went for it on fourth-and-9 at its own 4, and Sage Ryan broke up D.J. Lagway's desperation heave at midfield.

As coach Lane Kiffin's squad took a knee in the final minute, Ole Miss fans chanted "We want Lane!" in a bid to persuade their sought-after coach not to bolt for another school — possibly Florida. And Lacy celebrated with a postgame slam dunk on a portable basketball goal at midfield.

The Rebels have won at least 10 games in four of the past five seasons, including three straight, and this victory solidified their chances to make the College Football Playoff.

Florida (3-7, 2-5) has lost 20 consecutive games away from Gainesville against ranked opponents since beating Georgia in 2020 in Jacksonville, Florida. That streak will extend to 2026 since the Gators' final two games are at home.

NEW YORK (AP) — Ethyn Ewing needed only two days' notice — and short rest — to win his first fight for UFC.

Ewing won his UFC debut — just eight days after his last professional fight — via unanimous decision over Malcolm Wellmaker on an undercard bout Saturday night at UFC 322.

Ewing got the call on Thursday morning after Cody Haddon dropped out of the fight with an injury that he was needed in a pinch. One problem, Ewing missed that call — and many, many more trying to wake the MMA fighter.

He joked he slept through about 40 missed calls before finally getting around to answering the phone — and he answered the bell at the Garden, where former New York Knicks' great Patrick Ewing's No. 33 banner hangs in the rafters.

The 27-year-old Ewing won a Nov. 7 fight as part of the A1 Combat 32 promotion and has won nine straight MMA fights overall.

He wouldn't mind sticking around the big time — and called out White to try and make it happen.

"I have to say, that was an amazing performance," Ewing said inside the cage. "Mr. White?"

Ewing swept the scorecards 30-27, 29-28, 29-28.

Zhang Weil is trying to become a champion in at least two UFC weight classes when she challenges Valentina Shevchenko for the 125-pound belt in a matchup between what is widely considered the two best pound-for-pound fighters in the women's division. Zhang, a former two-time strawweight champion, vacated her title last month so she could get her shot at Shevchenko.

LONDON (AP) — Conor Benn gained revenge — for himself and his family — by dominating Chris Eubank Jr. to score a unanimous points victory in their rematch at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday.

Benn had lost to Eubank Jr. nearly seven months ago in their long-anticipated middleweight bout, which came more than 30 years after their fathers squared off in two memorable fights.

Eubank Sr. beat Nigel Benn with a ninth-round stoppage in 1990 to take the WBO middleweight title. Their 1993 rematch ended in a split-decision draw.

The 29-year-old Benn was in control in Saturday's non-title fight and dropped Eubank Jr. twice in the 12th round.

The judges scored the bout 119-107, 116-110, 118-108 for Benn (24-1, 14 KOs), who gained revenge for his only professional loss.

"This is the end of the Benn-Eubank saga. This ends here," Benn said in the ring. "This is generational. This has never been done before in history."

In late April, Eubank Jr. won by unanimous decision in a slugfest. But the 36-year-old boxer (35-4, 25 KOs) looked sluggish Saturday, unable to land jabs the way he did in the first fight.

"The kid fought hard, he fought tough. He's got power, this kid," Eubank Jr. said. "Conor Benn was the best man tonight, so congratulations to him."

American rapper 50 Cent accompanied Eubank Jr. on his ring walk and performed his hit "Many Men" as they emerged from the tunnel.
